Thank you for your video. The washer we have had the same problem with the agitator too. And now I know what to do. And we are keeping the same pieces you did too. This couldn't be more the perfect video for me. Thanks.
With the inner part of the washer your using for the pit is the all white drums safe as is or nontoxic to heat up or should it be stripped to the metal. Yours is speckled but mine is all white and im unsure what that coating is on that
Hi there. My washer drum is this same material. Is this enamel-coated stainless steel? Is this safe to use for a fire pit and long-lasting? I saw other videos suggesting using stainless steel. Thanks!
Ours has traveled with us for 25 years. We like how it heats. Very even heat distribution. Doesn’t burn you out and away because of excessive heat. Love ours.
So mine is a little different. After sawing off top of agitator it won't pull out. There is a long rod that goes all. The way to bottom and opening the bottom doesn't help
Great Video. One word of Caution, your dog shouldn’t be any were nearby, when cutting or drilling the steel. The metal flies a great distance, and can also get into their pads.
This was wonderful! Great job disposing of the rest of it. We have been doing that for years to avoid paying fees…also makes it easy to handle. Enjoyed this!
Hey Hey Hey. I heard you guys were cold today! We got a metal garbage can lid today so Joe painted it to use for a lid to the fire pit. I will do a video tomorrow about it.
We've been using the enamel tub for our fire pit when we camp and at home for 20+ years. Great heat, contained and portable.
That is a great idea Sandra.
Cool idea! I’m going to watch on trash day for a washing machine.
we are really liking it.
That is an amazing idea...looks wonderful 👍😁
We are loving it Mary.
Now if you flipped it upside down and cut a doorway where you could load the wood you now can cook on top of it as well 😉
That's a great idea, I never thought of that. Joe did say he could make me a stop that could move if I wanted to cook on it.
I need that agitator
Those make great pits 👍
Hi Jake, Bacon Vanilla Bean Peanut Brittle video is up next Thursday adn then I will mail you some.
@@suburbanhomesteaderwy-az wow!!!! 🙂😋

That's cool. I would have scrapped some of the bits. But sheet metal always has a place around here.
Jerry that would be a great idea also.
I've heard from some people that have done this project that you know we're on certain washing machines about lead paint on those inner drums.
Ya that's exactly what I'm wondering
I turned a old dyer drum into a flower pot Joe did a great job turning a washing drum into a fire pit
Thanks Todd, I bet the flower pot was fantastic!

OK. I have the same thing, except I cannot get the paint to stick to mine....using high heat paint. Any suggestions?
They are everywhere in Arizona,,, first saw them in hell's waiting room,,,, quartzite az !!!

It works great! I think it is steel. It is really much heavier then the one my Dad made out of a stainless steel drum. Both work perfect.

That is amazing Charmaine
So interesting and Exciting! I LOVE a DIY Project!💜💜💜
Me too. I had looked and looked for a fire pit and this turned out to be perfect for us.
Is it smokeless
with the wood we burn in AZ, there is very little smoke. If I burned pine there would be more smoke.
Love this idea ‼️
Thank you, we have been enjoying it.
What is your routine for emptying ashes? Do. You do every fire or wait?
We let the ash build up and make sure it is cool before putting in the garden or around fruit trees.

@@lynphilion1501 I suppose many washers are different.

Hello Sandi, those projects turned out really nice.
John, we are so enjoying the fire pit.
I would never have guessed washing machine for a fire pit. Love it. All the small holes really does add a special effect to it.
Hi Janice, we are loving it.
Wow! What a great idea!!! Easy to carry in the Rv too
Definitely! We found a metal garbage lid that Joe painted today to match for when we are not using it.
