The recycling stuff was kitchen scraps in the 5 gal bucket we stopped and threw on the compost pile Lol... I cut that part out. This is my dad's place north of Clarion PA.

One learns quickly not to lean out from the center of gravity on 7.5" gauge track! Or is this 7.25", not knowing the location. Could you supply a little information as to location, how many feet of track, ownership, does he allow visits during the year? Arizona Lorne
This is 7.5 inch track. There's a little over a mile of it down. This is north of Clarion Pa, my father's place. Since his death a few weeks back, I've been trying to get things together. There never was any real schedule or plan for meets or whatever, but usually he'd give rides on the major holidays or whatever if he was around. I'm going to have to come up with some kind of plan for this as the road right now really isn't set up for club or continuous operation without having traffic jams.
My condolences for your loss. Hope you can keep the system up & running. Quite a picturesque forest. I'm sure people would enjoy the experience or riding through the furns & undergrowth. Maybe a picnic stop on on the way.
At some point in time people were planting pine trees with visions of getting rich selling Christmas trees. I can only assume this at some point in time was one of those places. My other property in Butler had similar trees planted on it some 30-40 years ago as well. the problem is they're garbage trees. Jack pines, not like a hemlock, white pine, or a fir. They only live maybe 40 years or so, and they start falling apart. Maybe if they were out in the open they'd be better, but in groups, they behave like you see here.
When you see old pines planted in that way, it is usually a CCC project. The CCC was a government program that found work for unemployed men before WW2.
Was this rail line originally built for another purpose , other than that toy train , because there was a heck of a lot of time, labor, and expense expended just in laying down all of that track ?
You really can't see much of it as it's under pine trees for most of it. I wish I could see it better too. Would make drawing a track map a lot easier!
You are correct which is why I've been trimming them back and spraying them to keep them at bay. It's a neat effect, but if you're wearing shorts you tend to pick up 'critters' in less than pleasant places!
Damn looks like you guys care and do t have neighbors my neighbors refused to let me run my recycle train and a had to abandon that line when they leave i reopen it
Totally artificial forest, of course. Nothing pristine or native about it. Created simply for the purposes of a hobby railway. Dunno what it was before white man came along - desert, or shrubland, or genuine forest teeming with wildlife. But, in the pursuit of hobbyism, they have perchance removed a stack of carbon from the atmosphere with all those artificially harvested trees.
Um... actually no... It was planted well before 20 years ago. As it has been noted many times before, it was planted for Christmas trees. Go troll somewhere else.
It's cool to walk in such a beautiful forest with this train, I love...
Greetings from Switzerland
Thank you!
What a fantastic looking place!
Thank you!
So, this is what grown men do on holiday weekends. I can't wait to grow up!
Awe no way this is adorable😭
I love the little tracks
Wow!! Very beautiful railroad. Rolling thru the ferns in that incredible Forrest is amazing
Beautiful forest

lucky guy . that takes alot time an hard work to make that train line
great video
Awesome train video
КРАСОТА!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Where is this gorgeous place and what did you recycle? Didn't see anything but trees and the bracken overtaking the railroad. Nice ride though.

OMG. How big is this. Where?
What a beautiful clean forest to ride through. Whereabouts is this place?
How can you look so angry while driving that train. I'd have the goofiest smile on the whole time if I had my own railroad
Lol... it's the serious thing... You'd have to be there...
What a stunning layout.
Could you cut some of the trees please to make it more visible on GE what happens in the forest. ;-)
Damn that is beautiful..🧐👍
Thank you.
Beautiful place!
I am rather curious why this only came across as 720p when I filmed it in 1080p...

Mobile youtube only goes up to 720. On pc it goes 1080 and so on
Nice job)

@@kleetus92 did you keep it running?
Is that a tree farm you're running through? All the trees look like they were planted in rows. Are they to be harvested for pulpwoodc etc.?

These trees aren't old enough for that... they might be 40 -50 years old tops.
Very cool!

Lol.... no, just the fun of the hobby.
I'd love to see an overhead layout of the railroad.

@@kleetus92 Yeah I figured that. I was wondering if there was a map that was created showing the layout on the property. Most likely a hand drawn one.
Is that your dad driving? How long did this masterpiece take to build? Must have been backbreaking work. And the cost? Oh my...
Yes. Dad worked on this about 16-17 years. Cost? Yeah... not for the faint of heart!
Heaven Forrest and train perfect combined
WOW!
What's a "recycling run"???
Lol.... dad had some table scraps and coffee grounds that we ran down to the compost pile. Basically an excuse to run.
@@kleetus92 Is this Tionesta Pa Sir? If so We go Trout fishing up there every year. I'd love to come check this place out.
@@Mr.XJ.96 In the vicinity of, I'm not going to give the exact location for obvious reasons, PM me and maybe we can figure something out.
How long did it take to build?
Ongoing project since about 2001.
I would be concerned about picking up ticks being up against the ferns like that.

This is am amazing
Is this in Tionesta, PA?
Is the engine modeled after the SD70ACe?
Kinda ... it was a more modern design basis, but a lot of it was to get the guts on the inside to fit...
@@kleetus92 Is This Tionesta Pa?
Is this in PA cause if so, I have a camp about 10 miles away...
Yep.
Really crazy people
