- I got to meet and talk to John O’Reilly Jr. at his drum recording studio. He was incredibly kind, sharing his knowledge and experience. I left feeling like I got a true masterclass in drum recording.
John has recorded or performed with Jason Mraz, Fun., Jim Adkins, EL VY, The Format, Reubens Accomplice, Jimmy Eat World, Schuyler Fisk, Mandy Moore, Rachael Yamagata, Michael McDonald, Sara Bareilles, Josh Groban, Chris Stills, Matt Maher, and many more. He also performed on Broadway for the three-year run of the musical Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark, and has toured extensively around the world.
Boom Crash Drum Tracks is John's online drum recording service. It's quick, inexpensive, but most importantly, the drums are played by an experienced professional in a professional studio. I love how every piece of gear has a story behind it. This dude is hardcore, so easy to tell the difference between a hack and a seasoned pro. Great interview Craig, really enjoyed it!
