As a lifelong Canuck fan, who also lived in Edmonton for 7 years, I gotta say this social media battle is embarrassing for both camps. I'll never understand grown adults getting caught up in "twitter feuds" or "throwing shade" or "beef". I mean, seriously, grow t.f. up. We have zero influence on what happens on ice, so focus on who and what is around you, smell the fresh bc air, and let the teams decide.

Bottom line is neutralize McDavid make him spend time in the defensive zone and play heavy and hard hockey with Miller matching up every shift and slowly wear Connor down.

These two teams know each other very well. Now it's time to turn up the fry pan and see which team can take the heat. Petey needs to be one of the top 5 stars in this series for Vancouver to win. Enjoy the series S&P.

The worst year for the Canucks was when the New York Oilers beat them in 1994. Messier, Graves, Beukeboom, Lowe, MacTavish, Marchant, Tikkanen and Glenn Anderson. All them ex Oilers was salt in the wound of a game 7 loss where Messier and Graves scored.

McDavid and Draisaitl hated being hit in those early games and that was key to beating them. If they don't get knocked down a lot forget about it

I think Frankie has been drinking too much oiler kool aid. The way he’s summarizing this series is that Vancouver would need divine intervention to win. It’s a lot closer than that.

I don't get that from him at all - EP40 showing up, making it tough for skinner, top line scoring etc. are all very reasonable and achievable things to expect from the Canucks. Factoring in the Oiler's post-coaching change performance and our recent mediocrity, I think he's exactly on point. I believe we can beat the Oilers, but not by underestimating them or overblowing our own strengths/overlooking weaknesses

😊 everybody always talks about how hard the guys can play.. rightly so. But what everybody tends to not talk about is that sometimes you just got to be lucky.. the Canucks are lucky
. I certainly hope so anyway

Everyone harping on about the Oilers PP. It was like two weeks ago everyone was saying how terrible their PP was doing. Could it be that they just happened to be in the King's heads after two straight years of routing them in the play offs and the PP feasted on that? Oilers PP against us this year was not great.

@@jax1580 The #'s and how sustainable they are, are one thing. The other things are my eyes, which continue to tell me, "that's the best PP I've ever seen..." In other words, go ahead and test the theory at your own peril. Now, unfortunately, if Draisaitl isn't in his spot that changes things a lot, but that PP has earned the respect it's being given, period.

McDavid was pumped up for the first game of the season, every player was. The Canucks won that first game, and the 1st game of the season always has intensity. Teams don't start a season well will just coast. Oilers let down after the canucks put up a few and put it out of reach. Same thing has to happen.

I watched Nashville/Vcr series. Here's some facts - fact one - VCR was LUCKY to win that series. One goal post away from a 7 gamer. Did you bother to watch the Oilers series? Cause if you did, you'd agree with Fact 2 - the Nashville / VCR series looked like an AHL matchup in comparison. VCR will have to be MUCH MUCH better as the Oiler do not play on the perimeter and two of the best players in world will impose their will on the Canucks, that you can bet on and if you think othewise you're a fool.

You don't have a clue. I listen to every pregame postgame/practice interview he has had with the media. He says very little about the refs. Tied for the least challenged goals and never blames the refs and instead says his team needs to be more disciplined. Just stfu. Show me more than one time he has commented on reffing.

I watched that series and that's mostly true. But then, Zadorov's a much better player today, and the Oilers may be able to take some credit for that development. Still, he's a different animal, emphasis on the word 'animal,' in that he's huge and plays dangerously close to the edge. We won't know until the games start, but I"m sure the Oilers will be hoping that history repeats itself... and with the guys leading the Oilers, certainly it could.
