To me this is X's definitive theme. It sounds the most heroic which suits the kind of person he is, despite how naive and trusting he can be to just anyone he's willing to rush into danger.
He outgrows the naivety but never the kindness. I'm actually really glad they didn't go the "maverick X" route in mmz because I just don't think it would fit him. In my eyes he grew old and wise and moved beyond bitterness at needing to fight and learnt to look not just at the bodies, but at the people and reploids behind him he kept safe. Growing old and bitter is the easy path followed by those who don't have the strength to find new hope and X is anything but weak.
It's my favourite intro stage theme for a reason: It perfectly encompasses X's character. X embodies a persevering hope, but you can also detect a hint of self-doubt in the song, perfectly symbolizing X's pacifist nature, his ending in this game, and the ethical question of "Is killing for a justified cause truly right?"
Oh thank you so much finally there is someone who is speaking about my favorite game and hero X this music is also my favorite and I also made song of this music
