I have a 2015 GMC Denali 2500 and I bought this over the summer. Looks great but is a wee bit buggy. Customer service is helpful and they developed a patch for a major issue. Overall I like it and the positives outweigh the negatives. I feel its a little overpriced but it does enhance the experience in the truck.
@eescalante68 it’s a little buggy but for the most part is worth it for the features. If you’re not tech savvy at all you might stay away but for the most part it’s great.
I have CarPlay on my 2016 Denali diesel. But I really don’t like the small screen. I’m very tech savvy, I see no problem w me installing it. I just asking all questions before I purchase. I spend a lot of time in truck. I watch Netflix, Hulu, UA-cam, dofu sports a lot. So I’m thinking I would really like it. What you mean buggy issues? Like delays or freezing? Do you have to reset often? I really appreciate the information
One thing to remember is you need an internet connection for most things to work. I'm not talking about android auto/car play. THis device is essentially a modded Android tablet. If you want to use Google maps, netflix, any android app you need internet. Which means you need to use your phone as a hotspot or buy a sim. I opted for a jetpack that I just leave in the truck for $20 a month. YOu can do those things through android auto but the experience isnt the same. As for the device the biggest issue I had with it was whenever I would leave the "Console" app (this app is a clone of the original screen and dash buttons) and go to any app and change back it would change the source on the radio. SO for example if I was driving along listening to the radio and opened up google maps and then went back to the console, it would just change to AM radio. If I did it again it would switch to XM Radio, etc... It took them several weeks but they eventually gave me a system patch that fixed it (most of the time). Now it just changes sometimes when I start the vehicle. THere were a few other minor things that customer service was able to help me work through. One of the biggest things I dont like is the right hand knob on the OEM system was used for changing radio station, scrolling menu, etc... With this device its hard coded to adjust the temp and turn on and off the HVAC. THey said it cant be changed. If anyone has any questions you can email me directly at KC2ATE at gmail.
I used the very link and saved some cash, so thanks for that. However...I will tell you that their tech support is horrible. I cannot get the radio stations to show up on the screen like you demonstrated here. I also cannot get the stock reverse camera to work, and the USB/Bluetooth doesnt play music. It's like it's just a tablet stuck to my dash not even hooked up to the truck.
Its a piece of crap. Those RCA cables are not for external amplifier conections. 1,000 plus radio and they do not include RCA preouts. I hate that i bought this. Under this and other you tubers reconmendations and if that would just be it i would not complain but how buggy it is and the rear camera freezing on me almost getting me into an accident i rate this crap a 2/10.

I’ve bought one but didn’t come with detailed instructions like yours. Everything works except the console setting is not centered. What setting did you change to correct that and get the factory apps to be centered?

Several questions: 1) Where are the settings for the vehicle located in the infotainment system? Have all these settings been tested and are functional? If not, what issues are there? 2) Have you been able to set the backlight coloring? 3) Are you noticing any lagging or bugs in the tablet operating system, and if so, how are they affecting the vehicle? Are there any effects occurring while driving? 4) Is there any reason you could not change back to your OEM infotainment system setup if this stopped working? 5) Does the connection to your phone hotspot allow the unit to update applications?
1) Yes 2) Yes, you have to go through one of the apps. Can’t remember which one. 3) Not really any lagging. If you just start the vehicle it’ll play the radio but once your phone connects it’ll stop it. Sometimes you have to reboot the system. 4) Nope. It’ll all go back just fine. 5) Yes. If you're looking for something that never runs into any issues then this isn't for you. That being said, it works great 99% of the time. The 1% of the time it doesn't you either run into an issue where an app crashes for no reason and you have to open it back up, or you run into a situation where you neeed to turn the truck off and on again to reboot it, or sometimes the audio gets stuck on a certain source where you need to manually fix it. Other than that for the majority of the time it works great.

Hey, I bought the is radio roughly a year ago and it has been great, in a 2015 Sierra 1500. However I just recently started having a problem where the screen never turns off, even when the truck is off and no key in there, the screen stays on. Does anyone else have this same problem?
Right, it could be. But when I swapped my stock radio back it, it turns off properly. Customer service has been super responsive and sent me several can updates and other updates to try and fix it, and just hasn’t resolved yet.
Just ran into this the other day on another install it has to do with it fighting with the factory units audio setting. Switch to the factory head unit and see what input it’s on. I can’t remember if it needs to be on aux or BT. Whatever input it’s on is wrong.
I bought and installed this unit and its great... except the sound output. I have a pronounced ground loop (whine/buzz/static) that gets louder with RPM of the engine. It is related to the Aux input on the factory radio (that the tablet uses for sound to the truck). I am trying to diagnose it now. Has anyone run into this problem with this unit and found a fix?
Same issue here. Curious if upgrading to a better quality auxiliary Bluetooth adapter would solve the issue. Also my skip buttons on steering wheel don’t work when using car play and phone calls don’t sound as good as they used to with factory unit.

What settings should I be going to with the reverse camera. Cuz I tried looking and couldn’t find it. Pretty frustrating 😣
What’s your opinion of this headunit now almost a year later?
If you're looking for something that never runs into any issues then this isn't for you. That being said, it works great 99% of the time. The 1% of the time it doesn't you either run into an issue where an app crashes for no reason and you have to open it back up, or you run into a situation where you neeed to turn the truck off and on again to reboot it, or sometimes the audio gets stuck on a certain source where you need to manually fix it. Other than that for the majority of the time it works great.
I know it says 2015-2019 but shouldn’t it work for my 2014
I have a 2017 Silverado. I cant get the sound to work through android auto. Pandora, google maps or phone call volume. It shows it playing but no sound. I uninstalled from radio and reinstalled the My Chevy and my phone works. But no android auto is available. Can you give me some pointers? thanks
I have the same issue, did you fix it?
same issue here
I believe you need to put a headphone style cord into the auxiliary jack to trick the system and ensure the console isn't to aux audio
El audio si te sale bien?
Hi how is your experience so far? For me everything works fine but the console app gets hanged, freezes suddenly after 2 seconds and even turns black, specially on reverse camera, do you have a latest update file by any chance for this?
You might need to set up the right frequency in settings. I know there was a usb adaptor for people that have headrest monitors.
@@DIYReid i dont have headrest monitors and what frequency you have set on your gmc sierra?
@@MohammadHarisManiaDid you use the blue USB adaptor? If so, you need to remove it. I can't remember but it's in the settings menu, try the other one as there are only two.

still did help
Great video. Did you have any issues with bluetooth audio? I have the same radio, and i cant get any sound out of it. The console radio works fine, its just bluetooth and android auto as far as i can tell.
Have the same issue, did you find a solution?
Bluetooth through Apple car play? Or through console?
Console has to be in aux for Android or Apple CarPlay audio to work. Sometimes the head unit messes that up.
@@DIYReid CarPlay, how can I change that setting on the console? I’m trying to find it but no luck
@rogeliomadrigal4446 input like you would changing from FM to AM.
Do you know the factory setting passcode? Can't access mine
did you get the code?
7890
I just installed mine and I can't figure out how to center the screen. It is off centered and mine didn't come with the instructions to do that. Any help will be appreciated
I would hit up their support. I know it came with instructions on the one I installed.
How do you get internet to this radio hot spot only?
Or SIM card
I have one but I do not know how to get Netflix or you tube on it. What am I doing wrong
Download them using Google Play store
My reverse camera not work same with SIM card
I recently installed thsi radio. Everything seems to work. The only issues im having are jow to access the back up cam on demand while parked or driving. Mine works in reverse but says no signal when i hit the cam button.
Also my Android Auto seems pixelated when it connects to the unit. Any ideas how to fix this ? Thanks in advance
how did you get the backup camera to work?
Were you able to get your back up camera to work?
no i havent yet brother have you figured anything out@@AJAX-8
@@AJAX-8 yes the back up camera works fine when put in reverse
@@Lynxsyyy mine just worked automatically when put in reverse.
Do you know how to fix the console screen? Is off to the side, is not centered
It’s in the settings.
I live in San Antonio Texas, do u recommend a shop to install it?
The install wasn’t too bad. I guess it depends on your experience
Thank you for this video. I am considering buying one. I have the 2019 Duramax LTZ with Bose. I see that you have said it works fine with the Bose system. I haven’t researched enough online with the Bose, however I have the Bose with subwoofer from the factory. Do you know if this will work with the subwoofer? If it does I think I am set to get one.
Bought one and tried installing today. There was no audio due to the Bose system
There’s instructions on thus
Does all 12 cameras work still ? Does truck have to be in park to use ?
That I'm not sure. Did they have a 360 camera in those trucks? It works while not in park without modifications.
Does the GPS utilize the full 14.5 inch screen?
Yes
Does your cameras work as well as
Back up? Yes.
Looked into purchasing one of these. Unless I am reading their website incorrectly their warranty is only valid for items purchased in the UAE. No warranty referenced for US purchases
Any issues with factory Bose ?
Nope.
Hey, I bought the is radio roughly a year ago and it has been great, in a 2015 Sierra 1500. However I just recently started having a problem where the screen never turns off, even when the truck is off and no key in there, the screen stays on. Does anyone else have this same problem?
That’s weird. It must be an issue with your truck providing it power when ignition is off.
Right, it could be. But when I swapped my stock radio back it, it turns off properly. Customer service has been super responsive and sent me several can updates and other updates to try and fix it, and just hasn’t resolved yet.
@torrymiller7518 that’s interesting. I would see if they would swap out head units.
Will this work with the Bose factory system?
Yes
can you mirror your iphone to watch netflix?
You don’t need to.
Every time I try to change the temperature settings on the homepage it won’t update, any suggestions?
Go to settings
i have no sound with android car play can you help me
It has something to do with the input your console is in. Try swapping it to aux.
Can you change the them to fir the style of a GMC sierra
I just installed mine on my 2015 gmc sierra.
@codyharrimon12 nice!👍🏻
Does this work with the Bose System?
Yes
is the sim card needed to get sound from apps?
No.
Is it compatible with bose audio?
Yes.
I also installed this and my only problem is the third party apps like Netflix or UA-cam there is no sound
Also my skip buttons on steering wheel don’t work when using car play and phone calls don’t sound as good as they used to with factory unit.
it's not the aux bro it's the swc un plug it i chased this noise for days it's the swc harness
if anyone has a fix other than unplug lmk please
@@aimbot8912 My issue is unrelated to the SWC, i have the noise whether it is plugged or not.
@@aimbot8912 I replaced the Aux plug and it cured the ground loop (whining). NOW i have the same issue as you, a "clicking" sound whenever the SWC are plugged in. Were you able to figure out any solution?
Does this fit a 22 trail boss
No.
I installed one in my F150 super cool screen.
It is for sure.
Awesome video, however I cannot find that head unit model on the website you linked.

Can CarPlay be wired I installed mine and no wired CarPlay
Yes. You have to use the USB from the device.
I tried and it didn’t work on me
What is the code for the factory settings?
7890
You ask is if we have any questions on how to center the radio on the scene but you don't answer back

Why does it keep glitching
