      @@Djza6124 : You might already know these tips, but if you don't, these tips will also help you. Raise the head of the bed or sleep on 2 or 3 pillows. You need to be raised up practically from the waist up not only your head. It helps prevent the gastric juices from refluxing up into the esophagus. Do not sleep on your right side at least when you get the acid réflux. It makes everything come up. I get acid reflux. When I get an episode, I do the above. I also have gotten used to sleeping on 2 pillows.

      I have a home remedy that a doctor and a waitress both told me about but it does taste odd.
      Get you a tall drinking glass, put some ice in it, pour a full can of Sprite, put two big drops of Worchestershire Sauce, and a pinch of salt. It will fizz up real quick and you want to chug the glass of Sprite while it's fizzing ... you'll feel better no more than 5 - 10 minutes no heartburn, no acid reflux and if you have gas it'll come out in one or two big ones or as big burps. 😉

      That's exactly why. The stomach produces acidity to break down food. If it detects acidity ot produces less, hence lemon juice.
      That's also why bicarb of soda actually worsens acid reflux. The body produces more stomach acid to neutralise the alkalinity.

CONVERSATIONS ARE ALWAYS GOOD we should always make it a point to VERIFY what we hear. Anyway, before there were universities, there were people and doctors who did help many people through watching and reasoning and remembering results… even science and medicine should apply this process even though, as of late, it looks like they’ve forgone that process…. The reason it works is because it triggers bicarbonate secretion in the stomach. Years ago in college I had a recurring heartburn problem, a P.E. professor I'd befriended who was into natural medicine taught me to drink up the juice of a lemon or two and rinse out my mouth after, the relief would be almost instantaneous and the heartburn went away for good after a couple of doses.

    I had almost the exact same situation as the lady but homemade lemonade did the trick for me.
    I read that low stomach acid allows the lower esophageal sphincter to relax and open. This orientation allows for acid to splash out and damage the unprotected tissues above the muscle. The lemonade rose my general stomach acid and after running out of Nexium I noticed my stomach acid wasn't showong up. So, I researched it and yeah. This is what I learned.

    its ironic that acid relux is due to LOW stomach acid (the valve doesnt close if its too low) and the lemon does actually make ur stomach a bit more acidic (it makes ur glands secret more fluids, u notice this already in ur mouth)
    so in some convoluted way by having everything upside down in the equation the chick found the right answer 🤪

      It doesn’t do anything. This man is unlikely to have any medical education because it’s actually a chore to correct everything that is wrong in this video. I’m not sure what kind of doctor he is, but it certainly cannot be a medical or legitimate scientific degree. If you’re interested, I’ve listed a fraction of everything wrong with this video below. The lesson is don’t take medical advice from people on the internet.
      Hydrochloric acid isn’t even close to strongest acid. Acidity is dependent highly on things like molarity, not just pH. You can take a drop of hydrochloric acid on your tongue and be fine. Lemon juice contains weak acids that are highly regulated in your body such as citric acid (citrate). It is only modestly alkaline in ONLY the stomach because it is relatively alkaline in the presence of the strong acid found in the stomach (HCl), however it merely acts like a buffer. Furthermore, the citric acid cycle is the most regulated biochemical process in your entire body and you have no ability to mess with it. Both your stomach and blood pH are also highly regulated, and attempt to manipulate this is immediately rectified for good reason. It’s why TUMS don’t work meaningfully. You take the TUMS and your body will just produce more acid within a few minutes. Don’t take lemon juice because it irritates your mucosa on the way down. Instead, stop nicotine, chocolate, alcohol. Elevate the head of your bed by two inches with a wooden block. Omeprazole or other PPIs can be useful but I’d be careful because it’ll mess with B12. Alkaline diets do not work for the many reasons above. There is no evidence that alkaline diets do anything. Mixing water with your lemon juice also does nothing.

    • @GameChanger597
      @GameChanger597 Рік тому +5

      Lemon juice doesn't make it worse nor does it "alkalize" the stomach's acids. In fact it does the exact opposite. It raises the acidic levels which is why it works and helped relieve her symptoms, and adding water to it negates the benefits of the acidity. Acid reflux is caused by an over alkalized stomach, meaning your acids are not strong enough, and lemon juice helps add the acidity that your stomach is lacking. However the root cause is usually a B1 deficiency. By eating too many sugar and carbs, it can delete vitamin B1 and this vitamin is needed to work the valves properly. Your stomach valve won't close properly without enough B1 causing the burning. Take B1 in the form of non-fortified nutritional yeast. Don't use fortified nutritional yeast because it has synthetic vitamins added to it that your body won't recognize as well. Even still, taking B1 will only put yet another Band-Aid on your symptom. In order to cure the problem, cut out excessive sugar and processed carbs so your body will stop dumping all your vitamin B1.

    You're going to have to explain to me how adding an acid with the pH of two or three two relatively neutral tap water which is about a 6.5 to a 7.5 depending on your area is supposed to add alkalinity to your body when your body is already causing acid reflux.
