$600 Squiers with Fender decal. Doesn't mean some of them won't play really nice, but that's what these are. That said, CANDY COLA is a great color! Glad to see it back.
The Fender Standard doesn't really seem to hold it's own for the price point in the market when there are so many better alternatives available. The new strat style Ibanez AZ Standard is $50 less than the Fender Standard and comes with a roasted maple neck, SS frets, locking tuners, and a 9 way switching system. Or for the same price, the Sire S7 HSS comes with a bone nut, roasted neck, rolled fretboard, and coil split humbucker.
I don't understand why they don't just put the Fender name on Squiers if they were going to do this. Maybe keep Squier on the lowest end stuff, but the CVs, just call them Fenders and call it a day rather than create this new line.
Someone please tell Fender 21 frets is an incomplete guitar, it needs to be 22 frets, so for me no matter what the price - the Classic Vibe and Standard is out - that leaves me with Player 2, which is in my view is overpriced, and Stainless-Steel Frets need to be standard now, no matter what the price point.
Nope, nope. They have full body, same neck as old MiM and new ceramic pickups. Bridge is higher quality and fender tuners. Maybe overpriced abit but worth getting
Complete waste of time these. Must have took a lot of imagination to go into designing them. Why would you pay £500-£550 for one of these with poplar bodies and ceramic pups. Surely you would just save another £100 for a player 2??? Fender has lost the plot
I can see the basses doing well. A Precision Player II is, in the UK, £200 more than this (looks like $200 as well in the US) so that’s an attractive offer for someone who wants a Fender. Speaking to guys at PMT in the UK and Thomann in Germany they can see a market for both the guitars and basses.
@ retailers obviously think differently - I guess they know their customers. And the number of second hand instruments isn’t going to match the anticipated sales of these. And some people, especially if it’s their first branded guitar want to buy new from the retailer they trust. Someone buys from PMT or someone they get a warranty, after sales etc. if you’re not that confident then it’s a good choice.
Old classic vibe strats were good, newer ones not so much... If these are like old ones than it would be decent guitars for that kind of money. Hate those colors.
They must be trying to kill the Squire Classic Vibe series. Why would you make the same guitar at the same factory and put a Fender logo on it and charge $150 more? Squire CV line will be finished.
God damn these literally look (and probably are) significantly worse than Classic Vibe stuff. The back of those necks look like a 90s affinity Squier... disappointing.
Fret material, how many body pieces, Indian laurel- no thanks, too many way better specd guitars coming from overseas for less than half that. Toss in $100 for a tech to set it up and fix any minor details and your still HALF of what fender is charging just for the logo and less quality in the long run. Really stupid move on an iconic American brand. Bring the production home and make a few improvements in materials. They simply cannot compete anymore. Sad.
Why didn't they propose some 32 inch scale instrument or some nice new passive fretless model to compete with the kiloton from G&L ? Jeeezzz, their R&D is competing with the Ibanez one... a total lack of imagination !
Intelligent move by Fender. I think they have pushed the Squier concept as far as they could, and needed to move on. Much rather have this than let’s say an Epiphone.
It’s a squire. Fender will try anything to make a Buck. They now realize squires play just as nice and the company is in trouble. Many years ago you had usa fender Mexican fenders and Japan. Now they have a million different models. Red flag here

At least the Squier classic vibes come with Alnico pickups. I believe this is a step down from the classic vibe. Really paying for the name here.

Nice! Classic vibes with fender decal. Reminds me of modern player series
I'm just a budget guitarist really can't fault Classic Vibes or Epiphones. Most of my gear is scouted second hand on FB market place. Can't fault it..
@@anthonyvaccari4607an affinity with the f word on it for $600 is a joke
@@chicfillatheamazinghd5113100% agree with you.. Hence why I'm a budget home guitarist and seek my equipment second hand and upgrade over time.
The new Squender!
Curious to see what Squier does...or is doing.
If I were starting right now, one of these would be very tempting as a first guitar.
🤡
Decodes of innovation led to this. I am excited. 9.5 inch radius? Satin neck? Amazing.
I don't really get why you wouldn't just go for a Classic Vibe? I have a CV Jaguar and it's one of the nicest feeling guitars I've ever played

@gooberthoreau Literally just to gouge money
Nice looking guitars, Fender doing a PRS SE thing

Are they tryna kill off the Squier?

Candy Cola is awesome, but I’m getting the Vintage 2 1965 Candy Apple Red Stratocaster.
Have always wanted a Candy Apple Red Stratocaster.

Look. I'm getting the yellow Tele.

So this is a refresh of the Modern Player, but not modern...
And not a left handed version for any of em
thank to silversky se, fender has a 600 dollars "fender" now
Even fender has scaled their NAMM both way down. Sad
Indonesian made guitar is good ❤❤

@@IanOReillyGuitars i can't see anyone taking a standard strat or tele over a player series 2nd hand off of ebay for 500.

wouldve copped on of these if only they had better colorways 😅
only 21 frets...meh
Yep, two point trem don't do 21 frets 😂
There’s always a catch to get fender on the headstock for cheap
No matter what the cork sniffers hereabouts say, these will be very popular.

Most affordable fenders ever? The Mexican standard was $399 in 2012

Squire CV line will be finished.
Is this because a tariff will be put on Mexican goods coming into the US?
The only standard I recognize is the Mexican made standards from the 90s through the 2000's.
God damn these literally look (and probably are) significantly worse than Classic Vibe stuff. The back of those necks look like a 90s affinity Squier... disappointing.

“Standard” should be top of the line. Not entry. Someone needs to be fired
Certainly not the most affordable Fenders ever. Mexican made standards were less than these not a horribly long time ago.

I wouldn't touch these. I have an Indonesian Classic Vibe Jazzmaster that VERY unimpressive.
