After seeing this I have a much deeper appreciation for where I was raised and lived. When u know the backstory of how these cities became so impoverished it should make us all angry and have compassion for the people stuck there. Especially Gary and Detroit.
Love seeing the unique architectural in many of the neighborhoods. Some narrative on the history of the neighborhoods would really bring it up a notch. I grew up in Detroit an recognized many of the homes as Detroit style homes
Here's the sad part. How many rich athletes and entertainers came from these areas and why didn't they reach back to bring businesses to these communities and create jobs like Magic Johnson did.
jazshas alot of them do, but the sheer amount and the sheer volume of people to help and the incredible amount of these neighborhoods all across the country, there is no way they will even make a dent. Honestly even if the government decided to make this their number one priority and spend tens of billions of dollars it would still take decades to fix all of this
jazshas it’s not their responsibility to uplift a whole city and or community that the people who live in, don’t care to keep up! Niggas can’t have nothing! White people look at you crazy if you throw a bottle cap on their streets, meanwhile niggas will have a whole beat up ass couch on the lawn next to 5 trash cans! Graffiti on the houses, busted windows, trash all over the streets, grass grown 5ft tall... it’s those small things that could at least change the look of these places. Besides, look at where it got Nipsey! Try to help the neighborhood because you know it’s rough and it be your very same people tear you down!
This is why work so hard and do my best to gain wisdom and knowledge so that I never ever have to end up in any of these hoods. I grew up in it. It’s not fun

If these black kids were more interested in getting an education and making something then they could get out with the opportunities they have. The parents are to blame. No father. Your own government and greedy businesses started selling out its own citizens by getting rid of manufacturing jobs in the inner city, and leaving people to fend for themselves.

Because throwing money at the problem doesn't help

Your own government and greedy businesses started selling out its own citizens by getting rid of manufacturing jobs in the inner city, and leaving people to fend for themselves.
