The self-titled debut that started it all has turned ten.
At the dawn of the new millennium, songwriter, producer, and multi- instrumentalist Klayton created Celldweller, a ground-breaking aural entity for the next age. Thriving on originality, Celldweller cross-bred electronic styles such as Drum'n'Bass and Psy-Trance with modern Alternative Rock and Metal on his self-titled debut, released independently in 2003.
The Celldweller album met with critical acclaim while climbing to #17 on the Billboard Internet Sales Chart. Celldweller gained Top 40 Metal Radio charting with the track "I Believe You" pulling into a solid 11th place on the R&R Alternative Specialty Show Chart. Achieving a feat shared by only an elite handful of albums, every song on Celldweller was eventually licensed for use in popular media. These songs were heard in movie trailers, TV shows, and games such as Spider Man 2, Constantine, Crackdown, Need for Speed: Most Wanted, Enter the Matrix, CSI, UFC, The Shield, and more.
Now, Celldweller has been reissued to celebrate the tenth anniversary of its release with updated artwork and a second disc of remixes, demos, and previously unheard rarities (all remastered for this release). While Klayton busies himself in his Detroit studio preparing the future of Celldweller for 2013, celebrate the past with this monumental work.

This track will always remain as one Klayton's best songs in every project he ever had. It marks every single detail of what Celldweller is, it mashes genres literally in a blender. Real definition of true original music, never got tired of it.

@@ciai_6199 make me
Amen
Oh man, I can't believe
That you did what they said
You did and to this day
I've still gotta say that in
My mind I question it
I wish I knew what you had
Meant before you went
And left me wondering to
Just an echo of your voice
Listen...
Listen…
Listen…
Listen...
Now I wait to take my turn to bleed
Like a kid playing with a razorblade
And wonder if I have the balls at all
Or am I gonna be afraid
Where are you?
What do you think?
'Cause I'm not sure when
Knocking at death's door
If I will be welcome in
Or be left alone outside
I hear the sound of a heart
From the shadow in the dark
Waiting for the poison to hit its mark
(Listen... my son)
I see the darkness surround
The shape on the ground
The killer straight up
And a body face down
(Firstborn... last one)
I hear the din of the screams
Sorrow in streams
The smell of farewell and gasoline
(Listen... my son)
I see a heart set free
And my legacy
Hear a voice from a shadow that is beckoning me
(Firstborn... last one)
I guess there comes a point
When you think to yourself
"This isn't worth it,
It isn't worth it"
And now I feel what you felt
And now I feel what you felt
Inside
Brother
And now I feel what you felt
This isn't worth it,
It isn't worth it
I hear the sound of a heart
From the shadow in the dark
Waiting for the poison to hit its mark

I wish it didn't end this way.
Live a life in hell
Through a mortal shell asphyxiating smell
For a crime lifetime
Imagination locked in a cell
And to the other firstborn,
I see the same scene
That must play over in your mind
And now how much more
I'm sure it's fucked with your head
Just like it's fucked up mine.

I love the trance aspect in it a lot
The perfect driving song.

I'm going to tell ya'll a story of how I discovered Celldweller. This song right here stood out to me. I heard it on a game called Crackdown for the Xbox 360. I got obsessed with Celldweller after hearing this. Then I got my gf and friends into Celldweller and they are still fans til this day. You damn right I love Celldweller.
Same here! This is the song I play to get my courage up.
I heard Switchback in a CoD edit and I looked up this album :D
I also discovered Celldweller through Crackdown as well, brings back memories of playing that game.
I discovered Celldweller in XGRA

One day I'll throw an industrial party and play lots of CellDweller.
listening for 10 years.....
one of my all time favorite tracks since I heard it '03-04'ish! I had never heard anything remotely like it... really opened me up to electronic music as a youngster.
His other song “New Elysium” from “End Of An Empire” album, kinda reminds you of this one. This one is by far superior, but that one is pretty awesome as well.
this song is so unique
Quite honestly the greatest song ever produced imo, it's a journey and a half.
I'M dancing and headbanging at the same time
My original favorite from the self-titled album, and still is to this day.
Celldweller is the one of the best electro/industrial metal
One of my absolute favorites, and the first song that I heard from Klayton two years ago. Ahh, my life would be so dull without his music!
5:42 - I rememeber finishing that full of energy part, me like dancing agresively and randomly to it, and literally thanking mentally the song for those "tired sounds" for they allowed me to get ready for the epic finnale.
2024 so nostalgic yet still so different, this track could be a soundtrack in so many movies!!!!
Eargasms everytime!
This song is one of a kind
Finally an official upload of one of my favorite songs!
I can remember seeing every show of theirs back in early 2000s at the flint local 432. I have loved klayton for years.

Still the greatest song I've ever heard.
i used to listing to this music while i was quickscoping in mw2 back in time years years ago still a legendary song
один из моих любимых трэков,спасибо Клэйтон от души=)
The master at full display in his craft. The first two songs i heard from him were last first born and i cant wait. After that he has been my favourite music ever since.
I used to listen to this infinite times a day.
the song is 7 minutes and 41 seconds long.
7 mins and 41 seconds are equal to 461 seconds.
461 times infinite equals to infinite.
a day has only 24 hours, which is less than infinite.
i can't believe you would lie like this. i am literally shaking and crying rn
So many memories with this song, and I never get tired of it lol
Old but gold.
It actually hasn’t really aged.
I heard this song in a Death Note AMV and Ive been hooked on this song ever since, that was 7 years ago.
Amazing that this song, which was released in 2003, blows away just about everything released 17 years later. From production and sonic standpoints.
I heard klayton hate this song for some reason...its definitely the best song he ever done
nasilemak ayamsedap he hates this song becouse its about a suicide of a family member ( at least I think it is becouse the lyrics apply to it really well). And Klayton's family member did actually commit suicide. So he doesn't hate this song becouse of how it sounds but becouse it reminds him of his family member that commited suicide.
@@Adrian-yt7pl My theory is he had a twin brother who committed suicide. Often times twins eventually have twins as offspring. Klayton's wife recently gave birth to twin boys. Also, many of his songs/themes, from many of his projects, talk about twins. And the lyrics on this song "firstborn (of twins?)" "and now I feel what you felt inside brother" suggest he had a twin brother. The rest of the lyrics of this song seems to allude to suicide. Just my theory though.
@@cellslave He did have a brother named Dan, he was under the Fixt label with the band "lvl". Not sure if he committed suicide though.
@@ZeroDayAnubis This is all theory, but I'll bet he had another brother, possibly a twin. I think Dan is still alive. Again, all theory but if you listen to the song and lyrics, with the theory of a twin brother committing suicide, it seems to fit the mood, and lyrics to a "T."
@@cellslave Wow, that sounds like a devil may cry story.
Love this tune. Thanks so much for the upload!
The Last Firstborn is a great song.
Merry Christmas, Klayton and all at FIXT....... best christmas gift ever!!!!

Mad ghost in the shell vibes
my favourite track of yours, brings back so much memories...indescribable
How is it so underrated!?
This song makes me imagine a boss battle where the player character has to fight this set of twins , and the music changes between industrial and trance when each of the twin takes turn to fight the player character.
Hahah interesting way of looking at it! I dig it lol. Btw gotta admit, I enjoy the trance part of this song more.
