Or just put electric start on it.....nobody has time for that non sense anymore. Ride time is precious.

Why would a ruin a beautiful piece of art with an ugly electric motor? And I have an electric start, it’s on my other bike. A bike that you’ve put your blood, sweat, tears, heart, and soul into is worth a few kicks it takes to ride it.

@@RedRiderCanadaBC a work of art? Please there is a reason these bikes died out. They got to difficult to start. An electric start makes riding so much more enjoyable, me knowing I don't need to do all of that. But again not a Harley fan. There are much more reliable bikes out there. My brother bought a brand new 44,000 Harley several years back following spring in garage for oil leak, that fall back in shop for another oil leak, then again the next spring, cycle of leaks. It so common of issue the Harley Museum has oil drop cloths under motorcycles in the museum....lol.

@@JessicaSimonson1976 these bikes "died out" because all the people who have heart and passion to keep them on the road got too old to do it. 70 percent of riders today wouldn’t be riding if they didn't have a button and someone else to fix their bikes... I grew up around a different type of rider though. If you've never built you dream bike from the ground up and learned how to make it run perfect, you just wont get it. But that's fine, we're not all the same, some people just want to ride and not have to care about what they ride. I enjoy every part of my bikes and my time with them though, even the kicking and wrenching!

@@RedRiderCanadaBC I was a tech for 26 years just don't care to do it anymore......I'd rather buy a priority service plan, and have dealership fix bike. I use to like working on things, but grew tired of it. As you get older your time is limited. Not looking to be spending time fixing, when I could be riding....this is why I buy new.

Nope my last pan, 1961 shorty e, j grind cam and Mallory unilite. One kick. No prime kicks. Turn key, wick throttle 2,3,4 times choke up(yeah yeah I know speech police I know it's an enrichment) 3/4 up,crack throttle ever so slightly an stand on the leg. He'd fire up. But my ole 1948 , same carb same cam but points, choke up(yeah yeah) 3 prime kicks, crack throttle a quarter turn key and jump on er. She'd bark thru those gooseneck drags. But that ritual was the same whether 98degrees out or 27 degrees. And if she didn't bark, rinse n repeat. An yeah I know what works. Get to know your bike and it'll do what you tell it to do. Red, your getting pretty good at starting your fire breather. Must be all them big muscles you got out back 😈

Good job. When your ready to turn on the ignition It also helps to be on the compression stroke of the rear cylinder as the front fires shortly after which helps you start the bike easier. As opposed to starting on the front cylinder as there is several more degrees of crank rotation before the rear fires.
