Why would a ruin a beautiful piece of art with an ugly electric motor? And I have an electric start, it’s on my other bike. A bike that you’ve put your blood, sweat, tears, heart, and soul into is worth a few kicks it takes to ride it.
@@RedRiderCanadaBC a work of art? Please there is a reason these bikes died out. They got to difficult to start. So many primer kicks I thought you were going to drown it, but I can see you know your bike 👌 And listening, and looking for other bikes, that is someone who has a passion for riding ❤
My 67 FLH came with an electric start and a kicker. It's definitely a good idea to know how to use that kicker just in case. My dad has rode in a MC for over 50 years and I learned about kick starting bikes when the majority of the bikes club members were riding back in the day were kick start only
Damn straight. You are the fuel pump. Gotta love the Aussies! Spent 5 weeks down there went from Adelaide to Port Douglas Queensland in 97. Enjoy a Victoria Bitter for me. God bless you 🙏❤️
Knew from the start what you were doing, also knew once you put the kicker on the high spot, that'd be the kick that cranked it! No shame in your game Red, good work.
Good job. When your ready to turn on the ignition It also helps to be on the compression stroke of the rear cylinder as the front fires shortly after which helps you start the bike easier. As opposed to starting on the front cylinder as there is several more degrees of crank rotation before the rear fires.
Yea it’s a hard start if I don’t get the rear cylinder. Normally I don’t kick it through as many times as this vid, but I kept rolling past the easy starting point lol
I wonder what the percentage of people in this world know about priming these old bikes much less starting them. And that ladies and gentleman was a flawless starting sequence. Well done.
I had a chopped '58 Panhead with the original M74 Linkert carb & auto advance. Two kicks, ignition off, choke on, one kick with choke off, ignition on, would start even in the middle of January. That mellow chuga chug chuga chug of those upswept fishtails 😊
I had a suzuki DR650R from 1992 with a kick starter, it was cool. Now I have a Triumph 675 Street Triple R with a buton to start, it's soooo cool ! 😉 But I like to see how you start your bike, it's very plaisant !☺️🤫
A pan sounds better, unless it's a slab side trouble head. Something about the generator whine an the clutch basket rattle gets me every time. Just like a big block Chevy in front of a rock crusher 4 speed.
She's got some padding for that seat!! Not a cut!! That thing would kill me now!! Been riding since before those were new so I'm looking at the end of the trail! She's rockin a nice ride there!!! Keep it between the ditches gal!!!!
My 1st harley was a 72 xlch inronhead sportie chopper. It didnt need any primer kicks. It just took a lot of throwing weight at it since it had high compression heads.
On my old iron head,I always had to slow stroke the kick start 3x with the throttle wide open…. Not pumping it, just wide open for all 3 slow kicks with the ignition switch off. Then turn it on and on the next real kick with no throttle she exploded to life every time. I’m on a 114 Milwaukee 8 today….. phuck those kick started bikes😂!!!! Keep the history alive for those of us who left it behind! Be safe on the road.
Or just put electric start on it.....nobody has time for that non sense anymore. Ride time is precious.

Amen to the tattoo's! When you have a Panhead, you kick or don't ride!🌴⛱️🇺🇸
WHY would a beautiful ginger wanna cover up skin like that?
U got that right, if you're experienced with a Harley kicker, you know what Miss Red is talking about!!! You are a classic beauty Red!

You know exactly what you're doing girl
Well done, darlin 🎉 I could watch you all day❤
Harley Bobber and Redhead Bobber...
I'd be in Heaven with those two!
Also, nice rear fenders!
You gotta wait to see if you can catch a glimpse those bikes flying by first, I get that lol!
So many primer kicks I thought you were going to drown it, but I can see you know your bike 👌

I only twisted the throttle three times, the other kicks were me trying find TDC
After watching a dozen times. I finally noticed the bike. Nice
Excellent job mommy..” let’s just show-em how it’s done!💯✅❤️👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
The best primer kicks I've seen ! Miss. Red !
What a beautiful sound 😊
It really is!
Really nicely done those shovels are a bit temperamental but its very worth it.
Lovely looking also ( and the bike).😂❤
Thanks 👍

😊 Thank you
Yep. Every Carby Harley has it's own srarting technique. Be it kick or electric leg. Cheers from down under 🇦🇺 Stan.

Thanks!!

Thanks for the pointers.
You bet
awesome job ,its all about knowing your bike.every bike starts differently!my 72 shovel allways takes at least 2 primer kicks
That was a 1 kick start, in my book. You can't hardly flood a Shovelhead.
Yep, a few primers then TDC and 💥
Depends on the carb used ,

You go Angel,, the ole Stroker sounds good 🌹

NOISE,,,, you nailed it Angel🌹
OLD SCHOOL and she has it down pat❤
Awesome! I absolutely luv watching your Videos! You absolutely "ROCK !!!" :-) Peace, Stiletto :-)

Christ that’s a workout just getting it started 😂 Lovely Machine safe riding ❤
Haha yea it's not bad
Beautiful Build with Red hair lovely 🌹
She has the right muscles for the job .
Red kickin’ ass by kickin’ her shovel’!
Two primer kicks are usually enough for mine! :-)
Mine take 3 normally. Most of these was me rolling past TDC and then trying to find it again lol 😅 🤦♀️
That brings back memories.

👏 😌 thanks!
Thats a gorgeous bike
Thanks
Awesome Angel, at least the camera is doing what it’s told 😂😂 travel safe 👍🇦🇺
Awesome job ❤
When I ran a bendix carb, it took three to four primer kicks, with an S&S, generally two will suffice. Very nicely done darling!
Thank you 😊 My bike insists on more than two primers though lol

youve got it nailed , hope its warming up a bit there , the weather i mean
The weather is finally supposed to be looking like summer this next coming week! But then it's gonna be too hot lol
@@RedRiderCanadaBC we need the heat though , its cold and wet here , weve not had reliable summers in a long time , it can be very depressing
If the carburetor is an e then it is the wrist action and decelerator pump enriching the intake charge however the end result looks good

You make it look so easy Red! I'm sure it's not, I've seen your bike on stubborn days when it doesn't want to start.
It definitely has those days
I use to kick start mine all the time, always prime the engine before putting fire to it!
👍
I understand, but I love your red hair .
Hello Red!! Hope you're enjoying the summer weather and getting some good riding time. Hope your Dad is doing well! JP

Got to love a shovelheads rumbly bumbly. Can't beat that sound anywhere. 😊

Nice❤
6 primer and the ignition
You got it 👍🏻🤘
Only 4 were technically primer, after that I was trying to get it at TDC. Usually takes 3 to 4 twists as I kick it through.
I'll follow your lead. I just won't look as good doing it🥰
Hahaha sounds good
Yeah. Your back!!!

What's wrong with a kicker. Been riding since '73 on dirt, '85 or '86 on Harley's and my right leg is fine. It's my left leg killing me. Damn old age!
temperature cold. spark weak. oil leaking .ride uncomfortable. visually a masterpiece.
This made me laugh 😆
You jealous? Lol
Angel Is Gorgeous...!!!!
🥺
Cold starting i rolled mine over 3 times (primer kicks) then turn the ignition on and she'd fire right up on the next kick.
Mine is three primers then find tdc and it starts. I was having trouble getting to tdc this time cause I kept rolling past it lol
And it works wonders for your figure 😊
