If you want to see an example of true authentic personalities here they are. And that includes the Earl and Countess. These are really REAL people and I find it wonderful as opposed to the various videos on "The Aristocracy". This is what it means to be your true self. Thanks for all your hard work (and fun) to bring us into the Mapperton world. I'm going to keep saying "See you soon".

On my mother's side, my great great grandparents immigrated from Scotland in the mid 1800's.
My great grandmother and aunt would tell us stories of how "they were just wee lasses when they sailed to the US with their parents. Evidently, a good number of people fell ill on the ship. They lived to be in their late 80's. Great strong & Christian women for sure.

This is the land of which Shakespeare wrote...
This royal throne of kings, this sceptred isle,
This earth of majesty, this seat of Mars,
    This other Eden, demi-paradise,
This fortress built by Nature for herself
Against infection and the hand of war,
This happy breed of men, this little world,
This precious stone set in the silver sea,
Which serves it in the office of a wall
Or as a moat defensive to a house,
Against the envy of less happier lands,
This blessed plot, this earth, this realm, this England.

    Hello!
I have enjoyed all the episodes that I've seen and they are very enjoyable indeed. I am a rerired British history college professor and I take in a lot of you tubes about British castles etc. It seems to me that in addition to weddings, there are many othrr thongs you could do to make cash. How about renting part of your land for an annual rugby game. I know that Blenheim Palace allows rugby games on one of their lawns. Or maybe there is a church choir or a school choit who would like to give a concert there. Maybe you could split the profits. Come to think of it, I wonder any musical would want to give their concert there. I have seen these two things done at such places and they seem like they would be a great success. I keep thinking of you all. You and your family serm like such nice people, especially your husband and your inlaws!
    Best,
    Ginny

Pleased to be of the family of your Hinchingbrooke Payne neighbors from the 17th-c. A branch from which descends the Payne’s of Virginia ca. 1654 and the Jamestown Burgess and former Salter, Florentine Payne, a business partner of Col. Richard Lee of that famous Virginia family. They were joined in 1664 by one of their East Anglian cousins related to the Cromwells, also my 9th gg, Thomas Payne (d. 1673) of St. Mary’s, Maryland, and his wife from a Norfolk/Surrey family with the unusual surname of Smallpiece.
Also have a distant cousin that is your neighbor at Mapperton. His family (Robert’s) have a farm in Dorset! It is a very Small world! Your channel is very special for me and now with Time Team back too- I am a very happy man! Thank you

A lot of fun watching the pool-but I hope that it doesn't end of costing quite as much as 50,000 GBP to address the problems. At least you are making a start at finding out what's involved.
