The Countess makes everything seem so special. Wonderful lady. She is devoted to making the garden look spectacular with Steve’s tremendous help. Lovely tour.
I love your relaxed tour! It made me feel like I was walking along with you all. Perfectly delightful, and impressive how many names, Latin or otherwise, that you both do remember! What gorgeous gardens at anytime of the year, so I can't wait for the winter edition. Of course spring and summer will be even more spectacular. I look forward to the outdoor decorations for Christmas too. Thank you for inviting me to your tour!
Enjoyed the garden tour so much! I wonder if the tulip tree was meant to be a magnolia - which some people here call a tulip tree. In the aerial views, it does appear a bit overwhelmingly large for that part of the garden. I do love the cat. I look forward to the next tour!
Loved this! The Countess is so knowledgeable on not only the family history and Mapperton but almost all the plants and trees in the gardens. Remarkable! I love listening and learning from her. Best wishes to Steve on his new adventure! He will be missed. 🌸🌸
I really enjoy these tours as I learn so much. I’ll miss Steve, and I wish him the very best in his new endeavours. The Countess amazes me with her knowledge and her charming personality. Thanks to everyone who produces these videos, I look forward to them every week :-)
I've been looking forward to the autumn tour. May I suggest, I'd love to see the Countess visit "wild" Gardens of note with her grandson and then, together implement these lessons in a new garden at Mapperton. It'd tie to the Wilding theme of his videos.
I enjoy the videos where your parents are in. They are SO informative! We need more of them and please let them take their time in explaining everything! The more the better!
Such a beautiful Garden in any seasons .Thank you for the walk around and the wonderful view what the gardens offer plus the information of your beautiful trees 🌲 flowers and shrubs
I really enjoy learning about the gardens in the different seasons!! The Countess and Steve are fabulous tour guides!! Thank you for this wonderful video!! Happy Thanksgiving from Vermont
The deformation on the Euphobia at 13:45 is called fasciation (sometimes also cristation), it is quite common particularly in Euphorbia and caused by pathogens, hormonal problems or mutations. In itself fasciation is nothing to worry about though, it usually only occurs in on part of the plant, or in case of a mutation in a single plant. That is a lovely autumn garden you´ve got there, i´d recommend replacing the citrus though, with better varities and on rootstocks that are optimal for container cultivation. With a orangery like that, you can get quite a decent crop of citrus, from a few plants of the right varities with the right care and the great thing about most citrus is, you don´t have to pick them when they are ripe, they will stay fresh for many month on the plant until you pick them. Best regards, a fellow gardener from germany.
What an enjoyable video. Thank you so much for sharing your lovely gardens. Best of luck to Steve as he embarks on a new chapter in his life. This was so fun! Best wishes from Tennessee.
Marvellous! What a lovely, relaxing tour. Positively the most powerful calmative a fellow could wish for. Many thanks for the video. Bon voyage, Steve! Nice work. 🥇
Throughly enjoyed the garden tour by the Duchess. Beautiful gardens. So surprised to see roses and iris in bloom. Some of Suzi's plantings reminded me of a tapestry. Interesting to hear of her plans for future plantings. . Of course I enjoyed seeing the Virginia creeper and American magnolia tree. What a giant! I grew up in Delaware, have lived in Texas for decades. I believe that treacherous yucca plant is sometimes called a Spanish Dagger. Best of luck to Steve in his new endeavors.
Hahahahhaha. I’m laughing about the yuccas. My mom had a bunch and loved them. And we had to clean them when we were kids. That and bottlebrush. I’ll have NONE OF IT in our yard. I saw them in this video and I thought “oh. I don’t care if the history of those things - pull them out”.
Coming home to visit England in summer 2020 and can’t wait to make a stop at Maperton ( all being well in the world). Your doing such an amazing job with the gardens and house. Thank you for all your work keeping England’s heritage alive. I miss England and your videos are like a little visit home. 💗
Steve … noooo. Welcome Susan! I prefer these relaxed videos with the Countess. Calming, informative, beautiful scenery. I love how the kitty followed them around the peoperty
@@MappertonLive. It’s so wonderful for these people to stay and experience Mapperton. To be a tiny part of knowing that Everyone who volunteered helped keep this estates running for future generations to enjoy.
What is the fruit that was mentioned that is a cross between a lemon and a grapefruit? I didn't understand what they said. Sorry. Thank you Suzie and I hope you're enjoying your head gardening job! So beautiful ❤️!
Lovely that Mapperton allows children in their gardens even dispute the tree climbing 🙈 Steve will not need to worry at Iford Manor as they don’t allow children under the age of 10 to visit them but well behaved dogs can 🤦🏽♀️
Your Ladiship, Madame, it's such a pleasure seing you presenting your garden. As you say, one of the great pleasure of automn is pulling leaves down. As japanese say : wabi sabi. La vie est belle car elle est éphémère...
The Countess of Sandwich a natural in front of the camera...

The Father likely planted the Treasure under that Tree! :) Such a smart man, no one shall suspect! LOL

I love her. ❤😊
Fasciation is the name of the plant mutation you showed.
Did anyone tell you that they mentioned the Lord sandwich on the Jolly UA-cam channel?
Are the hedgehogs good for the garden? Or a nuicens?
Curiously, I wonder what the oldest specimen is in the gardens??
👍👍
I cannot believe the Countess' knowledge of the plants in the garden! Steve is leaving???
Lovely that Mapperton allows children in their gardens even dispute the tree climbing 🙈 Steve will not need to worry at Iford Manor as they don’t allow children under the age of 10 to visit them but well behaved dogs can 🤦🏽♀️
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻🌈🌞
Wisteria can be killed in a day with some Round-up and a bad Neighbor! Spanish Broom too! Too bad they don't Speak English!
The Countess of Sandwich comes across as rather rude and abrupt.
