How good are they! We heard about them from other travellers on the way down and were like, omg this is the bucket list item I never new we had!! So much fun! 🍻🍻👍
Another great episode guys. Racing chickens to raise money for the RFDS is a new one on us, but good on them for doing so. Wifey trained as a paramedic and so we're all for supporting them in any way possible. And who knew that 'captive glowworms' was even a thing? 😳 So what distinguishes them from your garden variety free-range glowworm I wonder? Welcome to the truck (bus) family! You should find (she says confidently 🙄) that the Iveco won't chew through tyres given it's full-time 4WD. It tends to be part-time 4WDs that chew through rears like that; sadly a product of weight and torque cooking the sidewall just where it meets the bead - there isn't a lot you can do about it with heavy towing. Really looking forward to the fitout. I know the Canungra hills all too well for all the wrong reasons. I did a couple of training courses at the Land Warfare Centre, in those hills, and the Army was fond of making us run them to keep us fit. Thankfully that's now all a (very!) distant memory. I see from comments elsewhere you're an SG1 fan. We're friends with someone who played a character in the series very late in the piece. It's a great series - that's one hell of a golf drive 😂
Thanks!! It's good to finally not be constantly worrying about weights! The Iveco has 5.5t GVM and at this stage, fully loaded we will be at just under 5t. Still heavy but light for a truck. Running up those hills would have been a complete nightmare. But sounds like something the Army would do, bet you were fit! I love my Sci-fi, but have still not converted Tania yet, she had never seen Star Wars when we got together, which was almost a deal breaker! So it's been an uphill journey. 😀😀🤣
@@VetinaVan Our little Canter is a short wheelbase, so it 'only' has a 5.5 ton GVM too. That's plenty to create a simple but nice living and sleeping space that's highly agile, with enough in reserve to tow a small trailer with a roof top tent if family or friends join us or we want a little more space ourselves on long trips. You'll obviously be looking for a bit more room than that to end up with a comfortable family space, nevertheless you should have lots of capacity to have great fun designing your setup. Like everyone else we'll look forward to seeing what you design and end up with. I have to admit I wasn't really a Sci-Fi movie or television fan either and had no idea at the time we met who my new friend was. It was only later that I had the stunningly cringeworthy realisation 🙄 If we ever cross paths out over a campfire somewhere it'll give you a good laugh at my expense. Wifey and I both love the great Sci-Fi authors though, so eventually I recovered and enjoyed Sci-Fi on the screen too. Looking forward to your next video guys 🙂
Well. That was fun 🤩 Love the Iveco Bis idea 👍 It is, I must admit, a little strange seeing you guys in a rainforest 😊 Lovely area. Shame about the tyre, another bloody tyre issue 😮 Your chicken almost got there, seemed to be the most active ( or hungry) on the track. Fun fact I played in my newly formed ensemble when I was a teen at the …….. wait for it….. World championship WORM race in Trentham Victoria ( you know where that is) 😉 and I got to play the fanfare on national Tv and radio! What a hoot 😅 I have pics of us playing. But there is more to that story and maybe I can tell you over a beer 🍺 Cheers for the entertainment 🐓 🌳 🚌 🤯 🥩 💪🏽🍻🫶🏻😜👌🏼🦆
Aaahahaha, well that's gota be a claim to fame! Gota love a good worm race! We are super excited about the bus, still a few months away on the conversion, but will hopefully it's going to be epic! 🍻🍻👍
“We are still getting used to people” 😂. Yes I totally get that !!
Haha, we'll still be saying that when we are seasoned nomads. 👍🍻
Thanks to you all. A Iveco is a great step up and your new setup will be good to see eventually. Thanks again.
Thanks! It's going to take a while to get the conversion done, but it will certainly end up being unique! 👍😀😀
Love the bus. Would love to do one for our adventures one day. Can’t wait to see how yours turns out. And yes the fig trees are crazy.
Yup, it's going to be a bit different, but hopefully the bus will suit our needs perfectly! Safe travels guys! 🍻🍻
OMG , the chook races are priceless 🤣Thank you for the giggles. Look forward to following the evolution of your bus. Have a great weekend 🤗

you've seen more of Queensland in 2 episodes than we've seen since we moved here 6 years ago! love the truck!
We had a good laugh at this. It's amazing what's right on our doorstep!🍻🍻
