Won a couple of matches dobbing. Its deffo not a winging it method, it does require a bit of skill knowing when and where to use it.
Great video as alway lads. Cheers.

Encore une excellente video Steeve , de belles images , des explications très claires du beau travail . Continue comme ca. Dommage qu'il n'y a pas de sous-titre en Français. Good job

Fly fishermen have been doing this for hundreds of years😂 thanks for posting, big thumbs up from deepest Dorset, keep them coming. To easy any tension you could always feed on the other rod while dobbing!

hello you two,yep,100%in agreement, probably the best method ever devised for cold water catching, quite surprised you are catching in only 2feet of water though, usually find them in 3 1/2 to 4 ft at this time of theyear, brill vid again though, keep em coming..from Terry G, North Wales.

I've no problems with dobbing, mugging, popped up bread etc you pay your money you take your choice. Interesting point about bans, I've always felt that on commercials, match or 'specimen' that we are paying to feed the fish not to catch them.

I'm just getting into fishing. Currently based in South Korea for several months and have found a spot where barbel steeds are visible in clear water only 2 feet deep. They are very scitish, would this method work (most locals catch them fly fishing)? Also what size hook would you recommend. Thanks in advance and great video.

Hi Jean, I'm not too sure I'm afraid! I've never fished in Korea, I'm also not familiar with the fish you're fishing for.

Try rolling meet down the river cast it up stream then let it run down with the flow

It’s real fishing and on the day It takes different/ multiple approach’s and techniques 👍 every sport has Snobs particularly jealous ones.

If fishery owners think the fish aren't being fed enough then they should feed them!
They're happy to take the angler's money so they can afford a large bag of pellets to scatter around the lake and feed the fish.
I'm going to try this method soon, it looks interesting and well worth a go.
Good informative video as usual Steve, nice one.

Yes you are putting bait in front of fish in a little pond, you might as well have a fish tank in your house, then you can sit on your sofa to catch them, maybe even sell a day ticket to the missus. 🤓

Totally agree - it takes the skill and fun away completely especially in summer when carp are on surface all over

Can’t stand people who do this - where’s the skill - amount of times I’ve been close to throwing these mofos in water who are just pulling em in by the dozens and your catching fuck all - may as well get a pond at home and sit in your garden doing it - no skill at all
