- A week later and another Lemon video!? That is actually crazy. But no jokes aside, I was looking through some ideas and I thought of remaking this video with a better frame of mind and better skills in editing and such. So I hope you like it, this was a blast to record, and edit. Maybe not so much in scripting but that is how it is. Thank you so much for watching, don't forget to like, comment, and subscribe to the channel since it helps out a ton. Have a wonderful rest of your day/night wherever you are from, and I will see you in the next one!
Quick Edit on the Ranked Section: Due to my own ignorance, I did not know ranked was dead due to it being in preseason, so I apologize for that! Secondly, about the section where I speak about the win-traders and such: I made an observation, I did not dive deep into learning every little detail, and I did not speak with any person who may be involved. Anything that sounds like accusation is not meant to be taken that way, my apologies for if it came across as such. Please do NOT harass anyone displayed in this video.

I believe PvP has the potential to be something more than what it already is, so I must ask: What do YOU think about PvP? What would YOU change from it? Let me know!

Pvp is ass but it could be better
More rewards and incentive will really do it good!
PvP is meh, just mostly queue for it to get EXP, kinda tired from the combos I experience with DRKs and ASTs or something
i want rival wings to be more common love that mode
Reward updates more regularly, and, for the love of God, get rid of cheaters! That naked mechinist guy... yeah, it was funny, but his ilk shouldnt exist in the first place. Not to mention win-trading. I suppose it would be hard to crack down, but maybe the system itself is at fault then? Win trading after all isnt new...
1. I hate raiding
2. I hate the community
3. I love PvP
decisions decisions...
Def me
y'all remember when the devs said all previous pvp series rewards would be available for purchase from a pvp vendor? Yeah.
I don't :awk:
i dont think they ever actually said that i just remember that being speculation
Never happened lmao
It actually was stated verbatim in a lost interview. I read it myself. It's one of those Mandela Effect things where people remember differently than what actually happened. It was on a live letter as well.
Man I feel that "longest crystal uptime by a LONG SHOT" so badly, in my soul and in my 1 million HP restored and 7 mil dmg taken per match.
Man...
Loved CC when it first came out but man, after the first little while I got so tired of teammates not pushing the crystal I just stopped playing it. I was usually the only one on the crystal pushing it and did I win a good amount of games doing it, oh yeah because people don't care about it but half the time. My team would essentially just let me die since I was the only one on the crystal which got really old really fast. I also liked your suggestion of the LB charging from pushing it since a good limit break can really turn a game around.
Could could, but maybe it should be thought more notably
We love "Nice Job." Spam
Nice Job. Nice Job. Nice Job. Nice Co-
From what i´ve noticed is that if you dont get your CC rank at the start of the season, then you can stand in que for +4 hours with nothing happening, since the people that do get the rank and play it will be so up high that they will never get qued with you, if you dont have a rank for that season, so if you want to play rankked, spam 10 games at the start of the season!
Consistent crystal/top ranked player in CC in Aether here... here's my take on a few points:
1) While I can't say for certain about any win-trading actually occurring, I can say that most of the people in top 30 are actually just way better than everyone else. Some make it there through sheer grinding and teammate rng... but it honestly speaks more to the quality of pool of players. There are people in Crystal/top100 where you question how they even got there. So the top people always being at the top could simply be explained by... being the top players. For a majority of players playing ranked, this doesn't even matter because they aren't even close at that level for that to impact them.
2) The idea of constantly trying to push the crystal, seeing people that didn't have much time on the crystal and criticizing them, is honestly kind of a noob trap. Sometimes having low crystal time can be an indicator of bad play, but you really need to take it in context. People piling on the crystal just makes you susceptible to getting aoe cleaved. If someone else is on the crystal, I'm probably not going to pile in with them unless I'm assisting with a kill on it. Conversely, if my team is getting wiped, I'm generally going to call for a fall back rather than trying to 1v5 solo push the crystal and stagger our deaths. The idea is to swap with people on the crystal once their defensives/guard/mp is down, BUT if the team is just all dying, I'm not going to bother swapping in and fall back instead.
3) Some of those changes suggested would break the pvp modes. Recupe is strong, but at higher levels people can coordinate and outdamage someone spamming it. Healers are plently strong as they currently are. Giving more LB from hitting checkpoints would just snowball games out of control. A team that lost the first team fight is already behind on LBs due to being dead, giving the other team extra LB on top of that would just cement the outcome of the match.
You don't get to the number one spot in this game without win-trading. Which makes climbing ranked pointless. Unless you want to violate the ToS. Most people that are in the top 100 did not get there because they are good. They got there through grinding and luck. This is not a game where you can carry your team in every match. You could be the best player, but you'll still get deleted if two people attack you.
if someone is brand new to PvP and assuming they're about equal in skill with all 3 classes, would you recommend they use Astro, Sage or Warrior for PvP?
@@kaelothsgaming8199 I agree that rank 1 is gatekept pretty heavily but you're wrong about people being deleted if 2 people attack them lol. Actually good players don't die that easily, I'd know personally lol.
Not all the top 30 players are super good either, some do get there by luck, but generally ones that get it every single season aren't bad at the game. You can't win every game, but you can heavily increase your odds of winning by playing your best and carrying.
@@triedtofindgoodname It depends on the job. Some jobs lack the necessary damage to carry your group. It's really hard to carry your group as a bard, but a hell of a lot easier if you are a dragoon. But if everybody queued as a dragoon, then queues wouldn't pop lol
@@lynxace1602 I'd go with warrior. If you are looking to grind out the CC achievements, then you'll need to play a tank and a healer. Ast/Sage are on par with each other in CC, but Ast is definitely better for Frontlines and Rival Wings.
Damn this edit is goood. I dont understand that much but amazed by the skill and efford on the edit. Well done man.
Well said, QUP ranked 7.1 and be part of the next wintr-
PvP in 14 is fun, try it out for yourselves lads
To be honest, apart from daily roulette PVP, I hardly play it. It's okay, but you can clearly see that there isn't much focus on it and some classes are just completely over the top. Most of the time I just think to myself "how can he survive this but I'll die almost immediately?"
It's called the Enemy team buff
I see new Lemon video I press like. Time to dig in. 🙏
I hope you enjoyed!
I managed to grind around 3k/5k CC wins on Chaos for the pvp title until my brain completely melted and I lost all motivation bothering with the mode. I agree with pretty much everything what was said in the video, and I personally believe that pvp in this game is absolutely cooked. After the win-trading fiasco (where for some ungodly reason the individuals in question were still not perma banned to this day), after some time of grinding this stuff on a daily basis you encounter people who use blatant combat scripts/cheating and get absolutely zero punishment for it. Retrospectively, seeing Square potentially improving server tick-rate doesn’t even matter anymore, because of the complete lack of anti-cheating solutions or active moderation in combination of the issues that were stated in the video make it absolutely not worth your time. I really wanted to love this mode and do it as my primary source of entertainment in FF but it’s just way too raw for a sub-based game.
But if we were to assume that in some universe Square actually starts giving a shit, in the next update where they will integrate brand new “exam-style” tutorials for raiding mechanics, this is something that PvP also DESPERATELY needs. The amount of instances where I would see people not use their healing/sprinting/lb or even baseline attack combos is way too saturated. Dealing 80k damage by the end of CC match with you being on the crystal for only around 5 seconds means that you are either new and have no fucking clue what you are doing and you need further help/explanation on that front or you deliberately sabotage the game for the sake of quick exp. Putting tutorials in place means that we could exclude first set of factors out of the way and start filtering griefers instead. To top it off, current state of job balance is all over the place and I believe this is something that is fairly hard to achieve, if not even possible. Make it so that the meta drastically switches up every other season to make things interesting, forcing you to adapt to new job combos or takedown strategies. Lastly, speaking of strategies, we need some form of a system where at the beginning of a CC match we can nominate a single person to being a group leader based on their overall experience in PvP, giving them an array of tools on making target assist callouts. This is absolutely paramount if you really want to win the game and currently is not intuitive enough within public matches. Yes, if you play in a premade or ranked game with skilled players, this is absolutely not an issue if you simply rely on a macro for both marking + pvp callouts, but I feel that this process needs to be streamlined and engraved into the core gameplay logistics of the match progression, with better assist tools with clear UI and sound design at leaders’ disposal.
As long as Server ticks exist, PvP will never reach it's full potential ✋😌🤚, it's a simple matter of reaction that and finnicky moments that determine a lot of situations in PvP
Tick rate has nothing to do with it and every major MMO as far as I'm aware has server ticks. XIV's is slower than say WoW but it's still 24 updates per second. Raising tick rate would do nothing except greatly increase bandwith when a lot of players are in one area. It's all in the netcode and how XIV ties ability execution to animations.
@@NeonDolly To say server ticks has nothing to do it with it is a blatant lie and ignorance.
I'm not asking for them to raise, it's just a problem that will forever plague FFXIV. Plenty of situations have happened in PvP where server ticks tend to screw a person over more than anything.
It's too the point where they're trying to address in the 7.1 patch:
"Extensive updates to PvP action execution and hit detection; for example, players will be able to better react to certain opponent actions while the action animation is in progress"
Either way PvP is finnicky as it is, and addressing this major issue would easily alleviate many problems, unfortunately that's most likely never gonna happen
@@alwaysmilk It's not the tick rate.
@alwaysmilk the tick rate is not the thing being addressed. They're just going to make the damage and effects of the pvp actions match the animations, instead of happening before the move comes out (for example, marksman's spite might actually hit you when the snipe comes out rather than snapshotting you 2 seconds before the animation when you've already pressed guard).
the wizard101 reference gave me flashbacks

@@SamTheLemonBoy As someone who's main was storm this made my day
as someone who spends a lot of time grinding ranked cc i think you are caught in a trap that a lot of decent-but-still-learning CC players fall into. if you have dramatically higher crystal uptime than the rest of your team and you didn't win chances are it is not your team griefing you but you griefing your team. i speak both from observing player vods and considering my own past mistakes.
the goal is always to *move* the objective. and there is no point in controlling it if you cannot move it. it is always more important to KO enemy players, increase their respawn timers, and build LB while slowing their LB gain so you have LBs ready during a big push while they're still waiting on their AST to finally get theirs.
if you can't move it and you can afford to let go of it, it doesn't really matter if the enemy team holds possession of the crystal. if you win a teamfight, any progress made/lost by struggling to hold the crystal pales against the progress you make getting to move it uncontested.
obviously when the checkpoint and overtime enter the situation, decisionmaking here changes but so many players genuinely throw games by trying to hold the crystal and get mad wondering why their team won't follow them when in reality they are not contributing anything and are often costing their teammates by not contributing as much to bursting down targets
(of course if you have that machinist who never ever stands on it even when you desperately need to rotate off to heal then that's an issue and they need to be less afraid of standing on it but that's not a problem that comes up every game)
the tl;dr is even if you think your teammates are making a dumb move, you ought to just help them do it because you're not spread out hitting different targets while the enemy team is smart enough to focus down one person at a time
I like a daily frontline for levelling, and cry through counting up the kills because I want the 5000 kill CC title. This video had me jumping into a match. I'm just head empty, shoot arrow. As always, your editing was fun, and I hope to play some FL with you again sometime
I'm glad I could motivate you to queue up! And I really appreciate it
PvP is actually very fun I do it all day long on the times I play and many people I know as well you just need to learn a few things but very fun specially with friends. FL is active all day long on crystal data center until like 3-3:30am eastern time but when that dies down CC is super active. Believe it or not compared to a lot of games this pvp is super fucking active specially on the Q up times, Enjoy!
NA players just like kicking each other's ass
You can't be mad at a physranged and casters not being on point .. they get melted if they're on point
We're making it to Crystal rank with this one
totally
It’s alright, I got your storm spell joke. Yummy 70% spell accurately felt like 40%
Frontlines is so fun when your team is the one steam rolling all on Battle High V
Truly
As someone who does pvp with a good premade every now and again, battle high is definitely something that lets us steamroll games. if not removing it, it needs a nerf at the very least. But even without it, the main issue is that there is just a massive amount of people who are either afraid to strategize during a round of FL, or who will not listen to those who do. even without Battle high, a coordinated salted earth, primal rend and skyshatter will nuke any team.
The most common thing I see during games (especially with fields of glory / shatter) is people knowing we need to sandwich x team, but the moment you're on the way there, middle crystal spawns and everyone swarms to that instead (god forbid we pvp in pvp)
my favorite lemon it's uploading a ff14 video, nice!
i wanna say, i like PvP on 14, but just battle front, crystal conflicts give me PTSD
I hope you enjoyed it! And yeah, FL is alright, even though it usually has its moments
As someone who is mostly in light data center for CC. can confirm moki moki being a chad to fight with/against.
Finally i've been waiting for another pvp video
Enjoy
I haven't touched FF pvp because I used to do WoW pvp way back in the day, but it's nice to know that no matter what game, no matter the generation, no one will do the objective.
I love pvp more than hardcore raiding, I can queue solo and don’t have to follow a schedule. And more challenging content when you are 1 v n and win.
PvP is a fun mess, but something that I don't really see the point of consistently going after
@@SamTheLemonBoythen again do you see the point of doing savage raids all the time? 3rd tier of the expansion is especially useless as there is not even an ultimate after it for those who care. It's raiding to just flex dps on casuals in alliance roulettes. Except they don't even know what ACT is nor care xD
@SamTheLemonBoy pvp is engaging to go back to because it's the only hard content in the game that is completely unpredictable. Every fight has a timeline and set things that can and can't happen at that time that you have to plan around. PvP is engaging to people because there's always changing situations. What you do that is optimal in one match can be griefing in the next.
That said, I took a break from pvp the last few seasons because the rewards are pathetic and there are other quality pvp games where I don't have to potentially wait forever to queue. There's definitely problems, but if you don't like pvp for being pvp, you won't like ff pvp.
The best use of Wolf's Marks is just buying accessories and turning them into Seals 😅
yes
3:56 heh, funny you should mention that 😏
(the joke was that i understood the Wizard101 joke, i hope i was able to explain the joke to my best ability)
I've been playing crystalline conflict since i started. Back then, people used to focus on the objective, and it seemed pretty much everyone was still learning, it was a lot of fun. Nowadays, matchmaking normally puts me against the same group of people who queue at the same time and somehow get on the same team as their friends. It ends up being a bunch of very organized players taking potions around the map and bullying people who are newer or don't play pvp often. I think potion pickups around the map should be removed to encourage people to fight more as a team and benefit more from having a varied team. I also think that there should be a limit to the amount of cc that can be applied to a single target all at once. Many friends that I asked to try pvp often say that the purify ability doesnt work and that's because if they didnt get hit by one cc, it doesn't effect the other 2 or more that can be applied right after by some jobs. I agree that more incentives to push the crystal also need to be added and maybe a tutorial like gamemode to get sprouts into it, something like the smith for pve. As far as frontline, i dont play it often anymore, but the experience tends to be miserable for similar reasons. Very organized teams queue together and it becomes a bullyfest that pushes people away. I feel like having smaller objectives in the game for newer players to do could allow a newer player to feel like they are contributing when ul against really strong teams. Lot needs to be done to help pvp thrive, but it has the pieces to be very enjoyable. The matches i have today when everyone is playing the objective and not just camping potions are very exciting and an experience that i feel a lot of players would enjoy.
There are a lot of times where PvP is super enjoyable, or funny, or satisfying. And then there are a lot of times where it's like.. oh we lost, it only took 2 minutes
I love PvP, so much so that I made an alt on the NA data centers so I could PvP during the daytime. My main is on JP.
Here's what I learned.
JP PvPers will stay together, follow the leader, and coordinate Salted Earth pulls.
NA PvPers fking suck. They'll chase you halfway across the map to solo a kill against you and then immediately die to your teammates rushing in. Meanwhile they btch about Salted Earth callouts in chat.
I prefer JP PvP when possible. Unfortunately that's late night NA time. The upside is that getting 100 BH on NA matches isn't uncommon, where on JP matches you're lucky to break 50.
NAs have such a huge ego that they hate being told what to do to win the game instead of running around like headless chickens
I would assume JP are more coordinated and know what they are doing than us in the Western servers
Absolute Cinema
As a ranked CC player, Nergo is def a wintrader, Moki is legit though it's just that they're the only super good player on Light and main DRG.
As for ranked spots in general, top 10 many times is doable if you're good enough, I've done it myself.
It's also because when ranked is active, its usually the same 10 people playing, not everyone on the board plays every time its popping.
4:04 I understood the joke, and it was hilarious.
The hardest thing about pvp is trying to figure out who I’m locked onto 😂
6:45 Give me bloodbath and I will agree.
I love frontlines actually a lot more than CC.
sometimes it sucks but overall is fun to have two matches a day for exp
Frontlines is great, but hella chaotic
I'm new to ff14. One thing I know for sure when it comes to pvp in any kind of MMO game, it will never be balanced. I've been wanting to try pvp cause you can get some awesome looking gear, and we all know fashion is the true endgame.
I struggle a lot with wanting to grind out the series rewards but not really caring about PVP at all. The game's ping is just too slow for it and leads for a lot of frustrating situation where I die without really being able to tell what actually killed me. CC could have been fun if I could que up with friends but since they decided not to make that a feature of the mode I'm not very interested in doing that. They've said it's to reduce the win trading but that's obviously happening anyway. That leaves me with Frontline roulette whenever I can remember to actually do it which usually isn't often enough to get whatever mount they put towards the end of the series. Didn't they say something about rerunning older series rewards at some point? Maybe that will be in the pvp update we're getting in 7.1?
Ah frontlines, where you and like 3 other people try to do the actual objective and the other 21 people on your team sprint to murder hobo in Narnia, which sucks because the other teams 21 murder hobos picked your objective to strike
Sad times...
I was a pvp player, what you say are mostly correct
Mostly
Mostly
As a person who played before recuperate was the way it is now, back when pvp healers didn’t have limited healing (i.e. two charges of cure, a bubble, and passive regen)… yeah I prefer it over having an astrologian be literally unkillable after eating my whole kit like the fat kid in a buffet
I like CC, okay with RW and don’t like FL. Man I do live getting gang B’ed (ingame) getting perpetually stun locked because I had the audacity to get within fighting range.
Something that is funny to me that on Matria DC because of our player numbers and that FL needs 72 masochists is that we have a agreed FL time so good luck getting it to pop outside of that time.
That is actually hilarious, and sad at the same time that there is a time window to queue
As a storm school main way back when, the joke resonated with me
Cock ass job
As a Frontliner it can either go "anime wow" or bend over and get wrecked. But CC is a whole other level of torture... I'm sorry Sam ❤
It's great
It comes down to win trading. It's a sad fact that people at the top of their game are more likely to be hyper competitive. You see drugs being used in the big leagues more often then the casual low-stakes ones because there isn't any reward for doing so in any long term capacity. Being solely focused on the top often means these people are the most likely to cheat to cement that position.
Thanks,

New patch just dropped, let's get it
I'm the devil's advocate apparently, since my like just pushed the count to triple 6 😈😈
honestly worst part of crystalline conflict are the "ranked" achivements
I struggle with feeling encouraged to play PvP outside of battle-pass grinding.
It feels like the reward structure is just decent enough to be an improvement but not even all the stuff they mentioned for that big EW update, and we're still waiting on some of the reward adjustments? Just very strange, feels left behind. We'll see how it feels in 7.1, hopeful!
Surely, we'll see more, right? :^)
I understood the Wizard101 joke. It's why the storm school sucks lol
(Now I'm wondering, what school do you main? :0)
I mained Myth for a long time
@@SamTheLemonBoy Let's gooo Myth School best school
Undoubtedly the worst things to happen in CC is when you are a pubic hair off from winning, and suddenly the enemy team just comes swarming out of spawn every few seconds, stalling the match during overtime (hate that mechanic also. If a team is about to win, just give them the damn victory. I ain't playing Gambit in Destiny 2).
It's why I hate PvP. I like quick matches where I either win or lose. When the game is effectively held hostage, that's when I start getting mad
decided to check out this video because a glam piece I want is PvP reward locked. boy, I'm kinda nervous now x'D
Unless it's the glow for the pvp weapons, which require CC ranks, just do your daily frontlines and click on that pvp battlepass. Frontlines is really whatever what happens there and you get the rewards regardless anyway. Winning or 2nd place just means a bit more reward, but even the 3rd place reward is good enough that glams don't take long.
Nothing to fear, go get it!
i have no clue why but i love ff14 pvp and i personally as a solo player love that you can only queue solo in cc
I miss the feast 😭
I miss eating too, brother. Head strong
What demon has made you go into PvP to a degree that you were able to make a video out of it?! Hope you will recover soon from it
The Azakana that preys on ass
Hello guys how’s pvp on ff now ? Coz when I stopped the game , I had to wait like an hour and more to find a game
Ranked will start up when the new patch does, and will die in a month. You have a month to make as much progress as possible. Good luck!
Noted
They just need to update the shop . Nothing to spend the wolf marks on and the trophy crystal vendor is just as outdated
regarding FL the issues are mostly 3fold, the first being the skills and classes, prior to 6.1 all classes had a balanced single target & aoe skillset with Pve role type LB's while there were issues with this iteration it was the best and should have been left alone, with pvp it unfortunately is balanced/developed based on the smallscale mode which causes issues for the largescale mode in which these need to be separate.
the post 6.1 design overloads the server/instance in which it makes everything unbearable
RW isnt popular due to its limited access i.e. not being a daily
I've done Ranked in Crystal and Primal, Suhr Zarek and Eskil are legit, fun to play against. (Although I always groan when I see them on the enemy team.) Frontlines has become my enemy because it's simply a matter of "is someone on discord with a good dark and reaper? ok you're done." Shatter's just not fun. At least the touch dirt mode and secure are, okay? I guess? It's wild seeing the mood of 24 people instantly drop when 70% of them are wiped by a DRK succ and reaper fear but that's just the current state of the game.
Oh also, fun fact: Blacklisting in PVP does absolutely nothing in CC. I've had GMs talk to me about it. I'm begging them and they're like "yeah, yeah. It does nothing except hide the person's name. Enjoy their chat spam still!" GIRL WHY AM I BLACKLISTING THEM THEN.... COME BACK GMS I JUST WANNA TALK.
Those two are always in voice though they are in different discord groups if Suhr isn't streaming hes probably in discord vc and lief is always in voice when he does rank cause how else he gonna vent about bad plays? Not just them of course lots of the higher end players tend to be in voice in some group or another just to shoot the crap or maybe coordinate if they get lucky, or even just taunt another person on the other team, hey we all do that. Suhr is the only real annoying one, tilt lief and his play goes out the window. You cannot break Suhr.
@@UnholyAvenger56 I'm a lone pvper so I just play on my own but honestly it's not a bad way to play personally. Just man, when I fight them, they're really annoying to fight. I hate when Suhr's paladin. A total Freak with his cover plays. I'm in one discord for primal players, but I just @ people to send them a cat smiley face when I silence them (been playing Bard lately, because god I hate DRKs in Frontlines lately)
@@coronette Oh I'm just saying there's a good chance any number of pvpers are in voice whether they are actually trying to coordinate or not is a guess some just like watching others. Or taunting, or number of things and everyone is within their own group of friends or data center.
I like the pvp in ffxiv but it is far from perfect. I like the hellhound weapons but I would love to see them continue to add more sets of weapons, especially if we could augment those as well with the rewards from ranked. I would love to see them bring back some of the ranked armor sets or mounts. I am not a big fan of the 3 teams in frontline as it feels a bit to chaotic at times. I am interested to see the new job actions in 7.1 and whatever changes the have to frontlines in 7.2
Definitely looking forward to some great things. But knowing Squeenix they either deliver an awesome release, or half-assed releases
I was a storm wizard main. i did in fact get the joke!
It's a painful 75% percent
No rival wings :(
I played it a few times and didn't understand anything
@@SamTheLemonBoy So like the average FFXIV player doing any piece of content.
Don't worry maybe they will update the pvp rewards / shops in 10 years. Seriously we need more incentives to play the content but this is also an issue with nearly everything else in the game 😂
Surely they won't take THAT long, right? :^)
It's still preseason in CC.
FL has some of the swingiest games I've ever played. Could be getting destroyed in the beginning, but one team decides to focus the other and the last place wins. Could have some of the closest games were the winner could be anyone. You could go against a team that feels coordinated, when in actuality, it's a bunch of randoms who are just good at PVP. I don't know what I'll get in FL, but it's at least interesting.
Except Shatter. It blows chunks.
Addendum: CC is fine. It's at least quick.
FL is interesting for that reason, I cannot deny it
How dare you invoke Wizard101 in 2024
Playing pvp in this game since the feast season 4... And I say, don't give healers so much power. One of the problems with the feast back in the day was healers being so insanely strong that almost every match was "is my healer better than the other healer?" Coinflip. I don't wish this kind of thing to anyone. Also, fuck SE why don't you just bring the feast items back with new color variants to incentive the new ranked? I don't want the crystal portrait number 639174719$717293816272+, wtf
Bold of you to title this video the ffxiv pvp experience and not mention the actual real pvp mode that is mahjong. CC, frontlines, and f*cking rival wings? nah, just distraction for filthy casuals so the real hardcore pvpers can get down to business and play some mfing mahjong.
My bad for the clickbait
Been calling for the removal of battle high for years as it's literally just a steamroll mechanic but the PVP shitfest already starts with basic balancing of jobs and some of the insane skills that can basically just win or lose matches, especially in frontline if you have one party that is 50% or 100% premade, you're fucked. They will win 100% of the time.
I made it to crystal during season 1 and said never again. Sam's lb is trash in Frontlines. There are to many people so you'll often hit the Sam by accident. Nin is also trash. But more importantly, I believe you suggestion of trashing lb all together in Frontlines is a good suggestion because invulns are cancer. And yes, battle high is so aids. I had to explain to friend that you can just ignore objectives for a bit and go kill people for battle high. Once your party has battle high, you can just bully people of points. And just keep winning more. No idea why I do so much Frontlines, but the mode is drowning in missteps. Also, let people queue with at least one friend in crystalline conflict.
Video on how progging tea is going?
Probably
theres probably more hope of a elezen hiding their footlong sandwich of a neck in pvp than it being balanced XD but love the vid
NAHHHHH
I got to the highest elo when it first came out.
And apparently missed my ability to claim the rewards.
I will not touch pvp again.
lol.
wtf
Gerhold Key
They should remove or nerf the insta heal bullshit and let people actually do DAMAGE everyone is a stupid healing off sponge
It is a bit crazy
Learn how to damage and recuperate won't be a problem 😂
If it weren't for roulettes I'm ngl I'd never touch it lmao
True
Removing invuln would make it awful n reallt hard to get streaks...diamond n crystal lobbies are supper sweaty and its absolutely necessary. I got rank 1 diamond on aether like season 7 or 8 ( lol number 101 on server cuz crystal is top 100)so literally 1 spot outside of the "rewards"..atticus in game lol that season is my peak tho pvp is fucked..the amount of ppl actually playin ranked seriously causes you to run into the same ppl all the time..i believe the same bunch are always in the mix but not thevsame top 10 def sumthin sketch there
Tmw you as a Venezuelan catch a fucking stray in a FFXIV video 😭
Me monk in pvp. See someone low hp with barrier. Me LB to break their bubble and shit AOE to kill and run away. Repeat or pick a favorite.
Get angry dms about how I should jump off the bridge in game at Coerthas Central Highlands. Life is good.
I love frontlines IF you don’t get stuck against a pre-made queuing over and over. DRK is so cracked, pls Yoshi just delete it lmao
Usually around midnight my time is when the whole premade groups happen
the thing is drk is just kind of ok in frontlines. it's just annoying to get hit by salted earth but the job is very reliant on its healing and mitigation to get anywhere. im hoping the pvp role actions added in 7.2 include an anti knockback ability like arm's length so people can have a counter to abilities like salted earth without hurting dark knight (the job is genuinely not that strong in FL it's just annoying, and i don't want the third best tank in CC to get destroyed because FL players don't like salted earth)
@@SamTheLemonBoy for us it’s every day from about 5pm 😭
@@armorparade if a pre-made has drk with Astro, reaper, dragoon or dancer and they farm to 100 battle high it’s OVER
@@elle_rose_xx the thing is that's true for other jobs too and some just do it better
there's a lot of premades that use drk because it's easy but the nastiest premades use other jobs like red mage and astro and ninja and picto and dancer and they're even more difficult to stop. i play a lot of dark knight so i know all the counters- but the nastier premades don't use dark knight because they don't need it
I understood that joke 👍
pog
I can only be bothered to do pvp when the rewards are worth it... And at the moment... they totally suck so you wont even find my digital shadow there. I dont care if leveling is faster with it. I dont hate it... but I also dont subject myself to this game mode if I dont have to :D
Of course
epic video and as a pvper main, yes pvp sucks
True and Real
4:00 wizard 101 was not niche at all I’m sure we all got the “joke” lol
I didn't 💃
wow didnt even talk about rival wings but then again next even yoshi p and team seems to care about it or even push it, hell ive only played one time and that was because I sought out a freakin discord group just to find enough people to que up and after getting curb stomped by them some of them had to leave afterwards. Like I couldnt even properly learn how to play it
they're giving it some love in 7.2
Indeed
Why is this recommended to me? I quit the game for quite some time already...
LEAVE ME ALONE YOSHIDA, 7.1 WON'T FIX THIS SHIT!!!
Queue up chaos
Soon:tm:
PVP is the biggest joke on the game! FFXIV is becoming quite the joke all around tho.
L take
Lemon take
Lemon take indeed
being a wow refugee XIV pvp will always remain this weird enigma that just feels like ass to play
XIV WSG when?
Never gonna get a Warsong Gulch
I mean, I'm glad someone decided to touch it, but the fact that you picked it up in preseason and near exclusively played casual queue this many seasons in tells me everything I need to know about your opinion on the mode....
Not playing the mode at all is better than playing casual queue. When you get to high plat/low diamond matches, people actually begin learning what to do and how to cycle themselves in and out the crystal. If you're playing casual queue, nearly no one does that shit, so i doubt you played many real games.
yeah, i always call plat the "second bronze" because it's where the game truly begins. everyone there has played enough to hit their buttons and know what their tools do but having a good idea on decision-making or strategy is never guaranteed lol
@armorparade right, once you play anything below that, it's just about as RNG as a frontline match.
Usually the X.1 patches are when pvp has some sort of rework, and I'm hoping the improvements they're allegedly making to the responsiveness of pvp will do something to breathe life back into cc. But yeah, hopefully, we get ranked back and matches actually become fun again.
Ah ff14 pvp the place where no content creator will ever make a class stereotypes video due to how each player plays their role. BTW crowd control is meta here and its terrible.
Right now ranked is dead because its pre-season so nobody really cares about it but if you managed to play ranked I bet there would've been a long section in the video criticizing the ranked system lol.
That is my own ignorance of not knowing that it is in preseason. But from my past experience in ranked, it's nothing that is unique to the experience that you can have in casual
Pvp is more entertaining than running the same expert roulette dungeon until your eyes bleed though... I love FFXIV, but most of the content in this game is bad... lol
Any kind of PvP will be entertaining, because even if the game is the same, the players are different and their skills are never 100%
