Came on, how not to loveeeeee Queen? Their live gigs were out of this world!!! And people used to throw things at Freddie, like flowers, lingerie (lots and lots of lingerie), perfumes, pictures for them to autograph, love letters, etc, etc 😎😉 They take my breath away, every time 💖💖💖
Back in the day a guy heckled Freddie during a performance . Freddie told his stage crew to put the spotlight on the guy and Freddie said , SAY IT AGAiN! And needless to say the guy had nothing to say , and Freddie said DIDN'T THINK so! Go Freddie! RIP love you!
A lot of reactors have the same complainers show up... Another thing they need to know is that Reactors who don’t stop quite often enough attract copyright strikes. If they want to hear the song with no interruptions, they can go to Queen’s official UA-cam channel.
JD..please react to the short documentary..The Making of One Vision. You see them creating the song. When they did a run thru with just instruments you hear Freddie throwing in some interesting lyrics ..lol
I love this song .... it follows the concert opener of ONE VISION and the crowd goes crazy. Look at the beginning when someone throws a hat(?) on stage & Freddie catches it (check it out again). Brian May wrote this song! 🥰 “shoot out”
“Get Down, Make Love” live! Did you notice Freddie catching something the audience threw while he was singing before the one you saw? “Take your brother swimming with a brick” 😂 You might want to have lyrics on your phone so you catch them 🤷🏼♀️ It was Live Aid where he wasn’t supposed to sing. Watch Roger’s solo at Montreal where he jumps on the timpani drums, too 🔥
I think you’re thinking of Freddie having a throat infection during Live Aid (also at Wembley) the year before this in 1985, but - that being said - Freddie wasn’t in good health here either. It’s one of Queen’s most legendary concerts with some of Freddie’s best performances, but his voice wasn’t in prime shape (for him I mean, for others it would be their best day!) and he started to notice during this European tour (the 1986 Magic Tour this concert was part of) in general that he was starting to tire more easily than he was used to and that he didn’t feel quite right. After the tour wrapped, he got tested and found out that he had AIDS in 1987. I think you asked before, but he may have known he was HIV positive before then - the virus that leads to AIDS - though it didn’t develop into full-blown AIDS with everyone back then and could often be managed for years and years. That’s the case now, as medication that didn’t exist in the ‘80s can stop the virus ever progressing into something deadly. Because of his diagnosis and subsequent worsening health, this was Queen’s last tour and the last time you can see live performances from them as a group with Freddie at the helm. They kept making music up until Freddie’s death in 1991 - some of their absolute best - but Freddie was in no condition to perform live. When he made appearances with Montserrat Caballe during their opera collaborations, Freddie had to lip sync (which he hated doing and never did previously unless he had to), as he no longer had the energy for live performances. His voice was in better shape than it maybe had ever been in before, though, as he quit smoking and drinking (well, mostly lol) for his health.
Yes, you are correct. It was Live Aid when his Dr told him NOT to perform due to a throat infection. Live Aid was held at Wembley. This performance was a year later at the conclusion of their world tour. There would only be one more live performance of Queen after this, at Knebworth. (Not recorded as far as I know).
If you noticed, Freddie stands by Roger at the end of the song. He says “Shoot it” and pyrotechnics come out. If you watch the Official Video of this song (Freddie in a white loose jumpsuit), you will notice Freddie suddenly turn towards Roger and then Brian does the same. The pyro went iff early and was not properly set - it literally blew Roger off his seat and onto the stage floor!! From then on, Freddie stands by Roger at the end of the song in every performance.
Stuff being thrown onto the stage was pretty normal at a Queen concert. Queen started it, in fact. During the encores of the early concerts up until about 1978 Freddie threw flowers into the audience. At first it was roses that a roadie had to painstakingly take all the thorns off of so no one got cut, then it was carnations. Freddie would also throw his tambourine into the audience and Roger would throw his drumsticks into the audience at the end of the concert. Fans would throw all sorts of stuff that the roadies would clean up. In Mexico they got batteries from tape recorders and shoes thrown at them. Freddie would never get angry about this. They were too professional. There is a medley at the Wembley 1986 concert of 50s tunes that is great fun. Also to hear Roger Taylor sing lead react to I'm In Love With My Car live in Montreal 1981. Love your positivity. Keep it up!
You want to hear some beautiful Brian guitar work listen to White Queen live at Hammersmith. It's a beautiful song written by Brian, sung perfectly by Freddie.
Queen was just pure fucking energy! I saw them in 79' and just was so amazed by the musicianship. We need to get back to real music, not this crap we have today.
He was advised by drs not to perform at live aid the year before this, which was first of two nights at Wembley in 1986...your other Queen Wembley reactions have been the Saturday night show. The band believed that Freddie was not feeling too well throughout the magic tour of 1986...as he possibly began to feel early signs of his HIV/AIDS diagnosis the following year
That was the LIVE AID show in 1985, not this show. He was sick and performed against doctor's orders. Freddie's health had begun to show the effects of HIV since 1982.
Thank you! your reactions are great -- I saw Queen for the first time in January 1978 - my BFF and I were 17 - and they opened with this song..... (we had the incredible luck to meet the band in the hotel lunchroom across from the stadium - I remember every word and every look - but that would make for a long story - suffice to say that they were all kind, funny and wonderfully sweet to a couple of awkward teens...) BTW, Thin Lizzy was the opening act and they were also great -- Phil Lynott was magnetic!
Aight bro. I get what u talking about he pausing but one thing I can say is not to pause in the middle of a guitar solo. In respect of the solo and the player
You should listen to the lyrics ; they're funny. Brian wrote this song. They were all good songwriters. React to: ANOTHER ONE BITES THE DUST , liuve at Wembley not Montreal which I think you've already heard ; Wembley is 5 years later and is even better
Great reaction JD! Here's a reaction to check out some time in the future ua-cam.com/video/ORHTySNMSqU/v-deo.html . It's Queen + Paul Rodgers Tie Your Mother down live in 2005. You may want to read up on Paul Rodgers first, Freddie was actually a fan of Paul's! It would be interesting to see what you think of what Queen (It's only Brian and Roger who perform still, John Deacon stopped in 1997) is like after Freddie's passing!!
Just think- absolutely raw talent! Wrote all their songs, performed and sang! No auto tune/ no ear phones- just live!
I love your reaction!! Superb!
Love this song. 1 of the best ❤️
Came on, how not to loveeeeee Queen? Their live gigs were out of this world!!!

Saw them several times, NOTHING LIKE IT!!!
My friend next "a kind of magic" the same concert 👏👏👏

I saw Queen with Freddie in 81...I have seen about 200 concerts and that one is in my top 5
“Get Down, Make Love” live!

YES ... GET DOWN MAKE LOVE live in Montreal 1981 is fantastic!
There were no doctors orders, but Freddie was sick here as well, and he performed for two nights in a row, for 2 hours each.
Love your true reactions, keep doing you. And Queen💛
The hardest songs looks everytime easy to perform it live for freddie and the band. A true legend
seven seas of rhye from the same concert🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

Freddie was also sick at Wembley. Likely not as bad as Live Aid but yes he was sick here as well.
I like your reaction.
Please do In the lap of the gods ,
seven seas of rye & tears it up live in Wembley 1986.

🤣🤣🤣🤣. Freddie could have whooped their ass! He was a boxer in boarding school!
Keep reacting! Pause to comment. Great channel. Just keep doing you!! ❤️
take away the pomp the glam and over the top theatrics at their heart and soul they are a rock band and songs like this show it.
Freddie Mercury was like the rock version of Michael Jackson. Just a showman's showman.
Queen was just pure fucking energy! I saw them in 79' and just was so amazed by the musicianship. We need to get back to real music, not this crap we have today.
He played Live Aid at Wembley the week after he was diagnosed with laryngitis and against doctor's orders.
Love this song soooo much - a total banger ! I was lucky enough to see this live - apparently I screamed all the way through it 😂
Super fun song by Brian May. I love everything about this song, the entire band is killing it!
At the end of Live Aid Freddie and Brian came out at night and sang Is this the world we created check out the video.

True though he was suffering from cold at these shows.

Freddie had a career-long problem with nodules on his larynx.
One of my favorites! How about Stone Cold Crazy!!
