Forgot to mention in the video Cheryl & Toni lived a long happy life together. So, which character's ending did you like the best? What did you think of the final season? What will you miss most about #Riverdale?
I think that I liked Bettys ending im really gonna miss Betty cuz she was only my fav character and I'm really gonna miss all the bughead scenes
it wasn't great, i would of prefered they got back to their original time, but still end it with the 4 having shakes at pops. the death's i felt was not neccessary
My mom said to me that they should have ended when they graduated high school and I agree with her
Yeah many shows that start in high school kind of go off the rails after graduation
even though i watched the other seasons after, that's when it ended to me
I really liked the series finale. It didn’t have the ridiculous plot lines like Riverdale usually had . It was more nostalgic and emotional. The only problem I have with the finale was that I wish that the show went back to the present day. The other thing I wished happened in the series finale, was the show found a way to honour the late Luke Perry .
I'm gonna truly and dearly miss Riverdale very much there will never be another show like this again.
As wild and weird and ridiculous as it got...it made its mark
I liked the first season and watched it twice , after that I was just checking if it gets any better but for me it only got worst. So I will never watch it again 😅
It started like Twin Peaks, continued like Slenderman, then Dungeons and Dragons, then Dark with splashes of Glee to wrap it up like This Is Us.
I thought at the very least Betty should have said " thank you " or " I love you" to angel Jughead for coming back and giving her an entire day in the span of what was actually only a few hours to be a teenager again. She just wasn't thankful at all for his kindness.
For all we know, this was all Betty's dream. She didn't owe him a thank you, much less an I love you. It's never clear if Jughead is an angel, a ghost, a dream, or a figment of her imagination. Or was the Jughead that B saw a being just appearing as Jughead so as not to frighten her? JUGHEAD was in the diner at the end, but the narrator was outside. So was Jughead in both places at once? Was Jughead actually 3 characters: the one in the diner, an angel or ghost, AND the all-seeing narrator who is also the author of this story? Are ALL these characters fictional, only existing because "Jughead" created them & wrote a bunch of stories about them?
@@DonnaBrooks Obviously they aren't ALL Jughead, You're right. It's not explained what that " Jughead" who guided Betty throuh her last day but I don't think it was who we know as Jughead. This " apparition" was kinder than any human, gentler, had more patience . Still, Betty Coulda said " Thanks Jug" , lol
It's interesting to see them bring back Jason Blossom, who didn't exist in 1950's world timeline and Polly never got married to him. That means that in that plain of existence for all of them, Cheryl is a triplet with two "living" brothers.
Well we did only see him after everyone had died. So if its Betty’s memories from all timelines prob
At least Choni were endgame ❤️.
This was such a nice finale
I grew out of the show a few seasons ago, but glad they gave each character an ending (even if it wasn’t always satisfying). Revisiting the controversial Betty Veronica kiss from S1 Ep1 in the finale was definitely a choice.
it to me ended when they graduated high school
Wait,- what? I saw the finale & didn't see that! Was it in the videos that the group was watching? I kept hitting the forward button because I didn't see anything of interest and I'm only interested in B & V! LOL!
They ALL went their separate ways after high school (which is actually pretty realistic). They probably kept in touch for a while. B says she went to some of V's premieres, so they remained in contact at least until V was making her own movies. Archie lived in Modesto, CA, Jughead stayed in R'dale, & B ended up moving to NY (on the opposite side of the continent from both Archie & V). @@JP-ks7ey
They didn't revisit the kiss from the pilot. Them kissing passionately & having sex in front of the fire is a far cry from a performative kiss that was used to tease the pilot (because all kinds of people like seeing 2 hot women kiss). The kiss in the pilot was exploitative, yes, but so was all the oversexualization of these supposed TEENS over the course of this series!! The showrunner used both men's & women's bodies (disturbingly pretending they were underage) as sexual bait, so that first kiss wasn't just "queerbaiting". It was exploitative in general, just as how Archie ends up doing all these things that require his shirt to be off but that make no sense for his character. Roberto what'shisname, the showrunner, also love to use shock value throughout the show, even if it does nothing to advance the plot or develop characters. Shocking & even traumatic events or discoveries are often never mentioned again! Betty saw her father's head blown off in front of her, but the next day she's in the diner drinking a milkshake like nothing happened, when any normal person would have been traumatized, or at least distracted & needing to talk about it.
The showrunner didn't want to tell a cohesive story with character development throughout the series. He just wrote a series of unrelated events and then put teenagers into adult situations & showed them frequently making out & having hot, onscreen sex scenes. The core 4 were all used this way, as was Cheryl & Toni. As least in the series finale, they only showed Betty kissing the other 3. The B & V making out in front of the fire was tastefully done & was part of their now canon romantic & sexual relationship, not some stunt, as was the kiss in S1. Also, we had already seen B's fantasy of kissing V, and the romantic kiss at the end of the duet they sang to each other in an earlier ep & their first mutual romantic kiss that was interrupted by Archie's mom. That late night phone call where B couldn't sleep & was thinking about V & they both said I love you (watch B's face throughout that call & you can practically read her mind that she has a thing for V!) That call was very intimate. In all 3 of those scenes, you could see & feel something was happening between them. Are you suggesting that the "revisiting" of them kissing was to show how different this version of B & V on the floor, in private, in front of the fire (which is freakin' romantic!) is from when V kissed B in public, as a stunt, in the pilot, just so the showrunner could exploit that kiss in the promos to get more people to tune in?
@@DonnaBrooks thank-you for your detailed post. I’m happy that the show created a scenario for the finale where them kissing made a lot more sense than in the pilot. Having throwbacks to earlier scenes is a basic narrative device that is used in many shows to reflect on where they came from. For them to turn what as you describe as an exploitative stunt from the pilot to pull in viewers, into something genuine and honest for the characters is still a choice they made. It’s turning something that was viewed poorly in the beginning into something positive.
hey should of had pop opening the door and saying
"welcome home betty."
But Jason didn't exist in the new timeline, so I guess that was the only way to have him there. Or maybe because Jason's death started the whole show out, he needed to be the one to welcome her.
He existed, though, so regardless of timeline, he would be in the afterlife because the afterlife is outside the universe of space & time. Anyone who existed in the previous universe would still have an afterlife even if their universe was destroyed b/c every life ends in death, one way or another. Whether you die at the end of the world, or simply at the end of YOUR world, there is still some "place" for your soul to go (if you believe in an afterlife). I just figured he opened the door for everyone because he got there first! @@turnipcrazy4602
I guess the writers of the finale had Titanic on the brain when writing the episode
That’s what I first thought of too when I saw Betty old hahaha
It was def inspired by Titanic! I knew when they pulled the car up & she said, She's asleep," that she was dead & we were going to see her get out of the car young again & be reunited with people who had died before her.
The only problem I had with the finale was that they should have had a tribute to Luke Perry. Other than that, I enjoyed it very much.
yeah you would think there would of been some kind of tribute to him or at least mention him in some way other than archie was buried next to him
agreed
Would HAVE, not "would of". Just because "would've", the contraction for "would have", SOUNDS like "of," doesn't mean it's the right word.@@JP-ks7ey
I never thought it was going to bug me but after that last episode I was bummed out for a little while.
I cried because I really understand RIVERDALE and the Archie comics and their was still many stories to be told but they did a great job of representing each comic series like after life with Archie
Little Archie comic series
The regular Archie comics
And many other ones and crossovers
Maybe they’ll fix the timeline to the og someday somehow and they will be alive
The qued relationship was really funny and weird like i don't remember that from the comics and betty telling Reggie 😂
I mean in a way, they were kind of always switching partners...now they just all were ok with it haha
I thought it was funny how Reggie was offended he wasn't a part of it, and told Betty he wishes that he was.
B & V were also dating, which they didn't do in the other universe. They seemed to be the ones who came up with the solution to just share their male partners without any jealousy or the pain of being caught in Archie's indecision, with constant breakups. @@Shineonmedia
If a reboot did happen many years later, I doubt it will be good as the og, since they all died.
13:00 I love this little music clip you use! I'm gonna see if I can identify it using Shazam!
I kinda felt like the one girl from mean girls that was talking about being friends for every then the gay guys like she’s doesn’t even go here.😂😂😂 I graduated from Riverdale high in my imagination ✨💚
I think that im gonna rewatch s1 again on DVD now I have it on DVD when it was good
betty and archie should have been endgame. we were robbed
Betty said she didn't regret never marrying. Archie did go to CA & never returned, which is what his mom thought would happen. He met a woman there, got married, & had children & apparently had a happy life. Also, Betty DID have an adopted daughter, although that was another of the many anachronisms of placing our current societal standards onto the '50s. A single woman would NOT have been able to adopt a child in the 1950s. Of course, there's a first time for everything, but even in the 70s, there still was a strong belief in the 2-parent household, & it would by hard to raise a kid alone at that time. She certainly couldn't get help from her mother! At least she was a writer & publisher, so she could work from home and raise her child.
NO ship of the Core 4 was endgame & it appears that Archie is the only one that married. I can live without my ship as long as characters I love are happy. It was a way for ALL the ships to be endgame AND NONE of the ships to be endgame. Actually, while I thought the finale was beautiful & powerful, I was sad that everyone had died. If they had just left it open, with the Core 4 going their separate ways, then that would allow for all kinds of possible reboots or spin-offs with the actors reprising their roles. Then we would have gotten the chemistry & talent we saw that made us ship a couple in the first place. Also, Betty & Archie WERE endgame in the other timeline, weren't they?
Didn't you have Barchie as endgame in the other timeline?
I hope u recap season 4 to season 7 of Riverdale
I miss the show already
So the gay couples stayed together, but the straight ones were fucked up beyond reason to be in a committed relationship
Well, Sheriff Keller and Archie's Uncle Frank turned out to be gay and in a relationship. However, in the extended cut of the final episode, it is revealed that they both were killed. They were picking up a male prostitute for a "threesome", and he turned out to be a serial killer whose name happened to be Chic. And we remember Chic from earlier episodes. And while I was sad learning of the fates of the characters, I felt like it was good riddance to Sheriff Keller and Frank as both were assholes and also hypocrites the way they looked down upon the gay characters.
@@trevorbarnhill3399 so homophobes must die? Cmon dude
No, but assholes & hypocrites dying is fine by me, even if they ARE gay. The point the commenter was making is that not ALL the gay people on the show had a happy ending! But Reggie had 2 sons, so he apparently married! I think they are overcompensating for the DECADES of movies & TV where all the LGB characters were murdered or went crazy or had some other tragic ending! I actually feel this show is exploitative of wlw sexuality. It goes WAY too far in making all the women bi or lesbian. I'm lesbian myself & I don't like it. But I did want B & V to be endgame. They should have never turned Cheryl into a lesbian character. There was no sign of this in S1. I think what happened is that they got more Beronica shippers than they expected & they thought, "We need to offer them another female couple," so they created Choni. I never got into Choni, which is sacrilege to people who think I'm supposed to like EVERY female couple, just because they are a female couple! I don't give a shit. I want good chemistry between the actresses, good storytelling, character growth & development, and I want their relationship to be not so focused on sex scenes.
I think it would have been a FAR more interesting twist to have Cheryl & Archie be endgame, Beronica be endgame, & have Jughead be asexual, as I was recently told in a video he is in the comics. I thought it was weird for him to be in a relationship with either B or V when I first heard he was, based on what I remember in the comics, which I haven't seen for decades. Apparently Cole Sprouse wanted Jughead to be asexual. The fact that he never married is probably their nod to that, but it's certainly too late after years of sexual relations with B & V! They didn't have to make Archie's mom end up with a woman. They also had a ton of other female characters over the years who were interested in some other female character. All of that is totally unnecessary to me. I just want ONE good love story in my wlw ships on TV! I never even liked The L Word! Most people are hetero. Deal with it. Not every lesbian loves Choni. Deal with it.
Frankly, I think Beronica just kissing is way hotter than all the soft porn between women that shows throw at us. Lili & Cami have great chemistry & look gorgeous together and they play characters I care about & whom I could grow to love. Cheryl was a total nutjob & I just didn't see a great love story in Choni. WTF was this enabling of Cheryl's insanity re Jason?! If I had been Toni, I'd have head for the hills! THIS CHICK CRAY! But no. She wheels Jason into the dining room & sits down like that's a normal thing to do. Also, a slow build & a great love story is really important for me. Otherwise "love" scenes just feel porny.
Anyway, no, most people did NOT want Archie & Betty to be endgame! There were passionate fans who shipped other configurations and Riverdale tried to pacify them all by having NO ONE COUPLE among the Core 4 be endgame, while having them all become canon. There are other ways they could have done that, but this is the one they chose.
@@DonnaBrooks I stopped reading after the first sentence. We have different values and that’s fine
Actually fangs got abducted by Fantômas along side the big bopper and buddy holly and joined the guild of calamitous intent as Boggles the clue clown.
😂
I was rooting for Jughead and Betty like no one was endgame
Well those two obviously weren't gonna be endgame
for me i like that they did it that way no endgame
@@JP-ks7ey Hell no it's cowardly
So you would have preferred for an endgame different from the one you ship? I wouldn't. This was ONE way they could have EVERY ship be endgame while still having NO couple be endgame! @@toriholmes1923
12:15 This is obviously a reference to Titanic 1997
Wow, nothing gets by you! I'm sure anyone in the world who saw James Cameron's Titanic would see that this scene was inspired by that film's closing scene!
When are we going to see high school musical the musical the series season 4 explained
Working on it
I like the quad. Riverdale was never perfect, but i have fun along the way, i gonna miss it.
LOL, Jughead's really the Grim Reaper or Death and guides his friends to their combined personal hell. See if you can find the 90s "Return to Riverdale" Archie's movie
ua-cam.com/video/vNEoIYipjeM/v-deo.html
and compare how the Season7 ended up to the 90s movie. Didn't realize that Alec Baldwin was actually in that tv movie and he's Betty's boyfriend. Would be interesting if there's a flashback similar to that movie.
Riverdale season 6 was my favorite season. And I do wish there was an endgame with Archie Jughead and Betty and Veronica. And yes they could have ended the series a little bit different. And yes I hope do get a Riverdale Movie and a Riverdale Reboot series.
I was really hurt not to see Josie and the Pussycats return one last time and don’t mention Josie return in season 7
Oh yeah I forgot to mention she returned for one episode this season. She seemed to be thriving and helping out fangs which is great.
I believe I recognized one of the pussycats in the booth at the very very end either before or after Betty goes to Cheryl and Tony. Might be a different character though.
yeah there was a few characters they wrote out but should of brought back for the finale
Thank goodness I never watched Riverdale. What a crazy, ridiculous train wreck.
Comet?
Time travel?
How much LSD did the writers take?
Betty said Archie was an amateur Raider as in Sports team, I thought?
WRITER!! He was a construction worker for his day job & an amateur writer, meaning he continued to write but was never published. According to Jughead, Betty self-published a bestseller & founded a magazine. This high school seemed full of PRODIGIES who did all these amazing things. Actually more people live a MODEST, ordinary life, like Archie. I'm sure they deliberately picked MODESTO, CA, for the place he lived for that reason!
I'll have to rewatch that last episode. Again. Maybe I heard it wrong all 3 times I watched it.
I’m happy they are all together in the end. I LOVE LILI AND COLES ACTING🔥🔥 I just wish it wasn’t just told from Betty’s PO. I want to feel the nostalgia and without the others and it being a somewhat normal Riverdale episode it was just sad and not as fulfilling.
Betty has always been the main character of this show. She's the only character that was in every episode. Archie was in 4 fewer eps than B. Jughead & V were in one fewer ep. There wouldn't have been time to see EVERYONE'S viewpoint in one episode! And Lili really carried that ep with her tears, grief, regret, & not wanting to say good-bye. I was in tears a couple of times, esp. when Jughead gave her that succinct "Arc of a Life" summary. God, those were powerful lines! I'm starting to cry just remembering them.
I think the ending would have been better with Archie with Betty married with kids, Reggie & Vericona married with kids! Since I think everyone wanted Archie & Betty together! In the original Archie Comics it Was Archie, Vericona, Betty, Reggie, Jughead was always a 5th wheel! So they should have stuck to the comics!!!
You mean be boring & predictable. Veronica didn't marry & wouldn't have had time for kids considering the demands of her career. Archie DID stay in CA once he finished helping build the interstate highway system & he raised a family with a woman he met in CA. He apparently had a happy life. I've heard that Jughead was asexual in the comics, so they didn't have him marry. Betty said she had no regrets about not marrying, but she loved being a mom & grandmother.
What happened to Josie and the Pussycats!!!!!!????
She hasn’t been around in forever. She appeared I think in one episode in the final season. She is off being a star in hollywood
@@Shineonmedia I just can't believe they decided to continue with a character like Fangs, but did nothing with Josie & The Pussycats who are way more iconic characters in the Archie universe outside of this show.
Well Ashleigh chose to leave the show. And then she went to the spin-off that didn’t last long. So they couldn’t really help it. she prob chose to only come back every now and then. And there’s so many characters I doubt they could have done that character Justice
Now maybe I just don't understand the Archie Universe (which would make sense since I never read an Archie comic), but...
What is this?! 😂.
In my opinion, the show went down hill after season two. I like the cast and all, but, everything just became chaotic. In a good or bad way? I don't even know, to be honest. I would have preferred the tone of season one to stay and have it all be cohesively connected while still having different mysteries along with consistent storylines. Like I said, I haven't read an Archie comic. So, it makes more sense for those who have to get more out of this show and where the writers went with it (seasons six and seven, I mostly mean). Hearing how it all ended, well..I haven't kept up with it once I stopped watching. So, I can't say whether I did or didn't like how the conclusion went. This recap was fun, though!
I wish the cast well and I hope to see them in bigger projects sometime in the future ☺️.
for me it ended after they graduated high school
Here is the show on netflix and is netflix orginal
A bus crash……omg 😭😭😭
right??? so sad
Man Fangs got the short end of the stick didn’t he.
When I was a senior, we had a classmate who was in the band who was killed coming home after a chorus trip when the person driving ran into a telephone pole. She was 17.
I don't like that they did not include an Archie and Jughead pairing in the quad. You show two girls kissing but not two guys?
And they like shared such a look there at the end. Interesting choices all around
It was Betty's perspective. She wasn't there when Archie & Jughead did whatever they did. Notice that you see her kissing all her partners, but you don't see the guys kissing Veronica. That's because Betty wasn't there. She's REMEMBERING & she can only remember sexy times if she was THERE! LOL They clearly were leading up to a dating relationship between Betty & Veronica in earlier eps this season. Did they do that with Jarchie?
It's Officially, not Afficially! It's Officially over, not afficially aver!
the finale made no sense, but at least it ended finally
Why is poor Jason working the door?
he didn't get an education to do anything else
@@JP-ks7ey lol
LOL! Clever answer! Thanks for the laugh! @@JP-ks7ey
Was he not born yet in this timeline? I was just reading something about that earlier today but I never watched the story about Jason so IDK how he fits into the '50s era in which they live.
Well the ending is kind of predictable. They don't want to give the audience the ending we wanted. None of the straight couples of the series turn out to be endgame. None of the straight characters end up together. And they all basically went their separate ways...
I wanted to know who Archie got married to i really thought it was Veronica 😭
There was no way it was Veronica 😂

This is the second show that's made Molly Ringwald a lesbian!
What is the other?
Yeah, what is the other? I didn't even recognize her as Molly Ringwald! Someone had to tell me who that was & I look at her & still can't see Molly Ringwald in her face!
It was really a good ending cuz I was worried about what the ending was gonna be like
But it's for characters we barely know not the ones we've been watching the past six years
This is one of the worst TV show ending make no sens at all , plot hole , story unfinished , this was bad period ( why making sheriff keller and archie uncle gay ??????)-
especially when sheriff keller from the origional timeline loved his son and didnt care.
@@ethansolorzano59891950s was a different period ig turning them into uncle toms if you catch my drift and yeah too bad they couldn’t stay with present timeline
Season 7 was the worst. They should have just ended with 6 . Or at least brung them back to the future. The 50s nonsense was just not it, nor did i like the character change up
It WAS strange to see Veronica look older & Archie looking like a 40-something year old man with those wrinkles on his forehead! And these are supposed to be 16 year-olds (earlier this season Veronica says she & Betty are 16)? I know they can't cast actual minors for these roles, but they deliberately made them look older for some reason! Does anyone know why?? I know teenagers looked older back then, because they dressed like their parents, but Betty didn't seem to have aged at all! She had the baby face of an angel!
Worst finale ever. Riverdale was a series which i really dont know why i was watching. So many mistakes from the writters. It didnt make any sense. The comic books are amazing. I really hope someone else who really loved archie comics makes an other series. Only the first two seasons had something very good to offer to the fans.
