I had a ‘73 in Panther Gold. One of the first “Dual Sport” motorcycles. Used it for school and around town. But, I did take it on some short road trips 75-100 miles. It definitely wasn’t an over the road bike. I ended up selling it to a guy that I worked with around 1984. If memory serves me correctly I paid $799 for it new. Sold it for $500.
Man o Man, In 1972-1973 simplistic styling on all motorcycles was just "special" the motocross bikes, trail bikes, road bikes two strokes they all were just timeless.....
That was my bike. I rode a twin to it as a high school kid. I loved to death, except 5hat it had a bad habit of seizing pistons in really hot weather. (I did it twice.)
I had the exact twin of that bike and loved it dearly. But I admit, I never tried to pop a wheelie on it.
