    About us,
We are a family from the North-East of England following our dream to restore a beautiful abandoned french Château. We discovered the heart stopping Château De Lalacelle in summer of 2020, this beautiful architectural monument Is set in the countryside of North-West France.
The moment we visited the Château we all fell in love, from the beautiful sweeping landscape and forests, to its stunning untouched interiors and magnificent spiral staircase in the turret.
Unfortunately Château De Lalacelle has been abandoned for a number of decades so will need a lot of restoration and DIY.
Please subscribe and follow our families journey, with the up’s and down’s in moving from the UK and Escape to rural France to restore this beautiful building to its former glory.

I think original fountain left in original space is like finding a secret garden space. It should be looked for by those that are interested to find it.

The little fountain should be exactly where you see it in your vision. I have too much respect for your artistry to comment. The old vision someone else had is in their past according to their vision and path. I watch to see your artful vision unfold! You are amazing! This entire team is just stellar! Jonathan is such a trooper! Driving the tractor like a pro! Nice!

I think it should be left in the original place, its part of the history of the chateau. I wouldn't paint it. I love the way it looks. There must have been a reason it was placed there. I wonder if it was part of underground water irrigation for the lower part of the garden. I love the idea of a slightly informal garden.

I would keep the fountain where it is. If you bring everything up to the Chateau what would there be to see away from it? It's one of those things you leave away from the main attraction for people to discover. When I work on my gardens I try to have items that make you want to go even further to see. Then once there allow another "thing" be it a flashy plant, a small statue, *maybe a fountain* or a little water feature with a lily pad etc. Make the visitors take a longer walk.

great Job lads, and lasses, oh my goodness how Johnathon has grow, it's lovely to see how brilliant he is at driving the tractor. well done Johnathon. I've watched a lot of gardening programmes and quite alot don't like the use of the matting, they say it causes lots of bother yrs down the line, watched one today it was a guy from Canada, he uses loads of wood chippings/bark. your lovely fountain would be nice kept in it's original place and maybe you could put a little table and a chair beside it with some lovely plants for people to just sit and have a quite secluded place to sit with a glass of wine, read a book, watch the sun set or just take in and savour the beauty that surrounds them, you could make a little wooden plaque where the seating area is and just write on it, Serenity. Tranquility. Mindfulness. I think that would be just beautiful.

I like the fountain where it is; it just makes a private little space. When I first started watching the video today, for some reason I thought about the chickens and that I had not seen them in a while. Lo and behold, not far into the video I spied a chicken; then another. I was laughing. They are apparently doing well from the look of them. Lots of "little jobs" ahead, but it will look wonderful when the nice weather resumes.

I'm all for leaving the fountain in it's original place. Its apart of the hisyory. Put a new one in the main part of the garden to reflect your contributions to the new Chateau gardens.

Such a joy to see Jonathan driving the tractor and helping to move the tree. He looks like he has grown so much. Not a little boy any longer but such a cutie!!!

Clean it up, and leave where it is..secret garden area, put a cute little button table a chair near area and plant some sweet autumn above it and let it drape down and you will have cascade of beautiful blooms ..

What a perfect environment for a youngster to grow up in. It gives a young one the chance to learn real skills with real equipment. It teaches that hard work enables a good outcome. It demonstrates that many hands make light work, or at the very least, that many hands can lighten the load. It also teaches that commitment to family is important and worth the effort.
    You are a wonderful family.
    Best to you all.

Great seeing the family, including Jonathan, cracking on outside while the weather is fine. When I hear Terry mention crossing off a task from the list, I’m picturing a very long scroll indeed!
