Nice video. I had a Yamaha XS250 in 1980 and a mate had the CB250N.

I owned 3 CB400N's whilst serving back in the 1970/80's, one kitted out for touring. The touring one managed 40,000 miles in one year (64,000 kms) and never missed a beat. I got rid of it for a CB900F2, worse thing I ever did. Should have kept the 400.

Wow. Had one of these back in the 80's. Used it every day for commuting, etc. Was completely reliable. It never let me down. Was the same colour as yours as well ;)

Took me back to my youth, had a CB 250 in 1972 brilliant bike in the 90s had a 450dx I had all sorts in between. At the moment trying to persuade my brother to part with his 250n 1979 he bought new only 3000 miles on the clock. He's not riding anymore, says he's to old now at 69. I'am 65 and still riding and think it would go perfect on the back of my motorhome.here's hoping. Nice video Andrew, yours Bob Barlow from Lancs.

Glad you enjoyed it and good luck getting your Brother's 250N back on the road, it would be brilliant for some back lane and b road pottering whilst out and about in the UK. 😀

Another Barlow here, and I had a CB250T dream when I was 17. Had quite a few bikes since but I would kill to get my hands on another dream. I never took to the super dream, but that's just me.

oh Andrew. Thanks for that [thumbsup] I had one of those for about 5 mins back in 1981. Didn't float my boat then and certainly wouldn't be in my list of classics to own now.

So if you were in the market for a classic what would it be?

@@Neohurricane I had the Super Dream for about 4 months and traded it for a CX500. I'd love to own one again now, but finding an original that isn't a bucket case and at the right price isn't easy [thumbsup]

@@RetroBiker they are still out there, I didn't have to look for too long but perhaps I was just lucky. It is easier to find the 250s of course but for me it had to be a 400.

Back in 1989 I had a CB400NC, the "posh" version with twin pot calipers clocks back-lit in red. It was so shit and such a disappointment that the MZ ETZ 250 I owned afterwards was like I'd gone to bike heaven.
Slow, noisy, top-heavy, gas guzzling pile of turd. I'm genuinely baffled why anyone would want to buy one of these horrid bikes. If you want a nice bike from that era get an RS 250.

Fair enough, i like my 400n but not everyone's cup of tea, ride safe and enjoy whichever wheels you enjoy! ❤

The CB400N that I owned in the 80s had a loud exhaust so it was noisy, but it didn't match the rest of your description. Did you fill the tank with stones?
