    Really fresh and lovely block.
    I have found with angle cuts, using a helper ruler adjacent to one's non dominant side, helps with the cutting: saves time with no sacrifice in accuracy.

    Not that much fabric loss, could use the scraps to make the small pinwheels. The fabrics are smashing with this quilt, you make it look so easy Kimberly.

    Finally got started with this and had to re-watch your video again after I made the block. Just a heads up... the download image of the block shows the “diamond” points meeting the rocket stars when joined. They do not. I was very Confused what I had missed since my measurements were spot on. Thankfully found your video tutorial and watched it again 😅

    Hi, absolutely LOVE the pattern and will have to get the ruler too. My only concern when setting u make this is.... Isn't there alot of fabric waste. Both in the starburst floral matl and the green? I know it might be a little quicker, but I'm all about saving fabric. I don't mind doing a few more cuts or sew a few more minutes if I can save on matl. Now, this could be one of those illusion things where it makes it look like matl is being wasted, but it really isn't that much to fuss over. So if I'm wrong, please tell me. I have a great idea using patriotic fabric. Thanks so much for sharing this. Love it!!! Blessings, L :)

      Hello! Making one block does kind of trick the eye a little :) The Rocket Star quilt pattern uses up the fabrics without much waste left over.

    Thanks for the tutorial. How do you cut the wedge without the special ruler. Is a template provided? Don't want to buy a ruler for just one pattern. Thanks.

    What kind of pressor foot are you using? It looks like you have a guide on it.

    Hey Kimberley, I love this block BUT I have a king bed! Can you help me?!

    • @FatQuarterShopTX
      @FatQuarterShopTX  3 роки тому +1

      Hello Melissa! We are working on getting you an answer.

    • @FatQuarterShopTX
      @FatQuarterShopTX  3 роки тому +1

      The Rocket Star quilt pattern has a queen size option, so usually we advise that you increase the border size to get the king size you desire. In this pattern, the queen border strips are cut at 6.5" wide, and you could cut them at 9.5" to make the quilt 6" larger (92" square size). The Rocket Star block is 14" finished, so if you are wanting a king size that is over 100", you could add another row of blocks as well.

      @@FatQuarterShopTX I see from the pattern for the queen you suggested 4 1/2 yards of the first color. So I am making a king and adding another row, should I get 5 or 6 yards? I will be getting the pattern and ruler later today or Tomorrow!!
