- You'll really come around to this STAR of a quilt! Kimberly shows you how to use modern techniques to make the classic quilt block Rolling Star, which dates back to 1933. She will walk you through the steps to make this block. The star block includes a Square in a Square design, but don’t be intimidated by those bias seams. Then, Kimberly will show you the best way to pin for an accurate block.

I’ve ordered this kit from your shop. We’ve recently began a renovation on our ranch farmhouse which should be close to complete by Christmas. This throwquilt will be a perfect piece to add to our new living room! I look forward to receiving it soon!
Thank you for this tutorial....love this block and the fact that I learned something new in reference to cutting the directional fabric corners.
Such great directions
What a great tutorial!! I love this pattern. I am very interested in the Vintage patterns. I am only into the QUILTING adventure about 9 months. I am so addicted. I think your hands are beautiful. ☺👍😉

Looking forward to making the block for Vintage Remix QAL😁
Hi
I'm a fan of Triangles on a Roll. In a future demo perhaps on a Friday live, can you explain how to use Triangles on a Roll when using directional fabric . I'd like to have all triangles going in the same direction. Thanks
Great tips and tricks love this block
Do you use the same thread in the bobbin as you use in the needle?
Does anybody else have a problem figuring out where on the block the accent, background, etc will go? I wish the picture of the block had the letters on it. Almost finished but my corners need to be redone with different fabric. Oh well.
✊✊💙💜💜💜💛✊❤️👍
Hi Kimberly! Great tutorial! Love how you add your tips; cutting, pinning or sewing. They really help and the results are beautiful! Thanks!!
A gorgeous 1930s pattern, love the modern take on it.
Thanks so much for telling me about the snowflake part to cut opposite sides!! I've been gong mad wondering what i did and wasting fabric to get it right so thank youuuu🤗🙏🏻
Absolutely love your tips regarding directional fabric. I never knew this, learned something new and thank you for that❤️❤️

Thank you so much for these videos. I love vintage but then I'm vintage lol. With this covid stuff, I have too much idle time and this helps pass the day. Thank you. Plus I've learned so much and I just wish I had been sewing when I was younger

Instead of pins... this would be the perfect place to use the little magnets that you sell on your site
Kim, that top you are wearing is beautiful on you.
One of my favorite blocks! Thanks so much for the tutorial!
Beautiful block. Thank you 💛
Gorgeous block! ✂️🧵❤️
Your square in a square was perfect. Thanks for the pattern
I love this channel.
How Pretty!!! Thank You!!!
Can't beat a twofer! Thank you! If I want to do the large quilt, would I need fat quarters?
Hello Gwyn! The instructions for making a large quilt are included in the requirements.
I love the tips that you give us
❤️💚❤️
Beautiful!! Can we use the foundation paper piecing square within a square for this to make it a little easier?
Hello Laurie! The size of the foundation paper is larger than the block size so if you wanted to use it you would have to make the blocks larger.
Lindos blocos,👏
Thank you!
When I am sewing anything with a triangle like your square in a square, before trimming the excess off I fold the triangle piece that you're keeping on top of the part that your discarding and iron it because you can make sure that it matches exactly. Then I flip it back and trim off the excess. I have found that this might take a little bit more work but it makes my blocks a lot more accurate
Excellent suggestion! Works great of flying geese too.
Thank you another great pattern 💕
