*Fuel Quality / Octane Update* The owner's manual for the 2021 Mustang EcoBoost/GT shows 87 octane as minimum recommended. There's a supplement that shows 91 Octane recommended but after digging a bit more that's on the Shelby 500. So the question is, do you need to use a premium fuel? If you've got an EcoBoost/GT/Mach-1.. technically no. But should you? Horsepower/torque specs for all vehicles are based on using a premium 91 octane fuel and you'll absolutely notice a change in performance if you use the higher quality fuel instead. Ford recommends the higher quality fuel for best overall performance, especially in warmer weather. Huge shoutout for Nick for bringing the octane rating to my attention - ua-cam.com/users/nickweg1996
Was wondering about the gas because I thought it was only 87. Got a 2019 EcoBoost 200a 10 speed a few weeks ago and used 87 at first but switched to 91 last week. Didnt do a dyno but you can tell it runs better
@@mattv8721 It is min recommendation at 87 octane. There was a guy on one of my other videos that used 87 for a while in his Edge Titanium and then started using 91 - got 20 extra HP out of it just by making the switch to the higher octane! If you get it on a dyno would be great to see the numbers
I been putting 91 since I got the car. I have a 2018 Eco 201a. I tried putting 87 to see if the performance is really that big of a difference and it totally is. It’s wayyy smooth with 91. 87 felt like the car was being pushed down to not use it full power. It was not good at all. Stick to 91 if you have an eco for sure
Not all 2021 Mustang 2.3L have all the features noted in this video: Australian models seem to lack the Blind Spot warning system on the mirrors and there are no seat memory buttons. There is no horn or panic button on the Key Fob. The hand brake and drink holder stay on the left side, and there are a few other warnings missings...... No heated steering wheel. Intelligent access is missing probably because of no seating memory. I am sure there are more.
All depends on the trim level and market that you're in. Interesting that the AU versions of the Mustang don't give you those features as well. There was someone else from Australia that had mentioned a few similar things in his imported Mustang GT
Thanks! The EcoBoost is better on fuel than the GT.. Just as an example.. I was in a GT Convertible last week and used over half a tank to get about 250 km. EcoBoost would have been closer to 325 km+ with the same fuel use
You're welcome! The big difference between the 201 and 200 is the digital dash. The 201 package gives you a 12" digital cluster screen where you can customize the color scheme and change the appearance if you're in different driving modes
I rented one that had 11 miles on it, put 500 miles and took the vin to the dealer and bought the hopefully identical car. They’re building it. Convertible of this car you showed.
It's available at time of ordering through the factory. On the Mach-1 and up included the Active Valve system as a default. But to be honest the Active Valve isn't quite as noticeable on the EcoBoost as it is on the GT.. unless you're planning on using an aftermarket tip from borla that can be used with active valve
Nope! You could get the Active Valve Exhaust as an option right from the factory. It's not as noticeable on the EcoBoost as it is on the GT but still gives a bit of a different sound
@@CarsWithSteve thanks for letting me know I was able to add that to the vehicle! Really wanted the magnaride but couldn’t add without getting the hpp mustang or losing my racing stripe. Hopefully it will go into production pretty soon.
@@ResonantFreq528 It would be great if you could mix and match some of the packages a bit more but sounds like you're getting the Mustang you want. Enjoy it when it's finally here!

from P to R. And R to P. it’s l really loud grind. Using paddle shifting it takes 2 seconds to shift. Also when stopping on red from high gear it puts 1” gear to fast and feels grinding clicking
@@asankovlogs yup sometimes things happen to new cars too.. if something isn't bolted in properly, installed incorrectly and not caught before being shipped etc. If it's new that's even more of a reason to bring it back in to be looked at.
@@asankovlogs if you're in the auto it'll downshift as necessarily. If it's a quick stop it will drop down multiple gears quickly as well. You can try giving it a few weeks but I'd at least let the dealer know that there's grinding going on while the car is downshifting
The Mustang badge scuff plates would light up at night in the EcoBoost Premium and GT 301a and up. There's also the Mustang mirror puddle light that would light up on the ground in the EcoBoost and GT Premium!
The only change between 101a / 200a + 301a / 400a and the 201a/401a would be that navigation is standard in the 201a/401a. Other than that the Sync3 screen is going to have the exact same feature set!
