    Some additional thoughts when weighing the engine options: Pro -- The turbo 4 has less hp, and therefore can't oversteer as easily into crowds of pedestrians. Con -- 4cyl Engine not as loud as the V8, so pedestrians have less of a warning to scatter, before they get hit. = )

    No other car on the market looks as good, has a digital dash and great updated interior, technology, manual transmission, RWD coupe, the list goes on. Not horrible mpg and easily daily driveable. Also very easy to bump up the power with FBO and tune if you dont mind losing warranty

    I own a 2022 GT a10 and as much as i love my car and the attention it brings me i will never underestimate the capacity of the ecoboost! you guys get slept on a lot but those who hate don’t understand that with some upgrades that little sucker can RUN. No bs i’ve raced around 6 different ecoB and although i always win, those ego’s don’t fall behind enough to justify the price difference. This is of course coming from my GT that is fully stock so i’m not gonna say you will stand a chance if i’m upgraded but who knows… Nevertheless f the haters! if you love it then that’s all that matters! plus a mustang ecoboost is still fast enough to beat most cars on the road anyway.
    Ps. I’m proud to say i own my car and it’s not a lease nor is it paid for by mommy & Daddy like most people you see out driving in a 5.0, scatpack, hellcat, mach1 etc…. I’m proud of my car because i work my ass off to afford it and i take pride in that.

    I rented an ecoboost in January for 1 month. Turned out it was a convertible but Loved it. Especially in Sport + mode. Throttle response was immediate.
    Still love Mustangs but reliability is in question compared to a Lexus. The RC 350 F sport RWD or RCF will be my choice

After talking to a few owners, only one complained he wished he’d gotten the 5.0. The rest raved over it and I want something sporty, fun but a little more economical.

    Ive been driving my 2015 EcoBoost premium for 2 years now. I'm basically fully bolted on with a modest plug and play Piggy back JD4 tune (didnt want to void my warranty, it doesnt flash the ecu, and cannot be detected when removed) easily the best mod I got with the most noticable gains. Highly recommend. I'm getting consistant 5.0 -5.3 sec pulls. Stickier tires would help get that into the 4's. My butt dyno is telling me I'm around 370-380HP and 400-420 Torque. Which isnt only fun but plently for me as a daily and being lighter than a GT I can hang with em. Aftermarket Mods I've got installed.. CVFAB Street intercooler, AIR RAID Cold air intake, CVFAB Catless downpipe, CVFAB Y-pipe, BOOMBA Intake manifold spacer, BOOMBA Body throttle spacer, SEC-10 Throttle response Controller, JD4 Tune and of course a JLR Catch can setup and some cosmetic stuff to make it mine. All for around $3000 little by little. I love my Eco... just wish it had a different name.. like just the Mustang T.. or SVO

      All that for an eco boom? lol why? For the same price on a 2015 GT you'd have more horsepower and almost the same torque stock. Then tune and catless downpipe it with all the whack "mods" you put on your ecoboom. You would have a mean and male sound to your exhaust with your GT. Those cars have a place don't get me wrong. As a car rental or somebodies daughters first car in red. Keep on keeping though Julio.

    Ecoboost is perfect if you live in or around a city. why have a 6 or 8 if you are constantly stuck in traffic and dealing with speed bumps and speed traps and pedestrian crossing.
    i live in the dmv area and it doesnt matter how rich you are; you will drive just as slow as the rest of us in this traffic.

    Great review Kevin, but I have driven the Camaro ZL1, and that 6.2 is "the edge", a beautifully ridiculous drive train. The Mustang is a good all around car, and reasonable at under 40k loaded, I prefer the Camaro in that class. I've kinda got past the really fast cars, in my part of Florida there is nowhere to drive fast without risking the lives of others or having an expensive chat with FHP. I'm not a huge fan of the lower end Mustangs, but given the fact I am an inexperienced driver (so a manual V8 drivetrain may not be the greatest idea for me), gas is still 5 bucks a gallon around here, and it's by far the cheapest model of Mustang, if I were to get a new Mustang anytime soon, it may be one of these.
    Definitely would debadge it though, at least the Ecoboost ones lol.

    • @metrogroovefm
      @metrogroovefm 2 роки тому +3

      Lol, there's not much to debadge! No 5.0 emblem on the sides. Most Eco owners buy the car not being shy or ashamed of what they are getting into, so some (like myself) even buy Turbo4 or Eco4 themed badges for the sides. And maybe it's just me, but if I see a debadged Mustang, that automatically gives it away what kind it is (# of pipes, exhaust sound, & grill type not withstanding). Enjoy getting one, and fully embrace it...it's still a Mustang and quicker than earlier S197s.

      I’ll be honest as a daily convertible or even a coupe you really don’t need the HPP. It only adds 20 more HP so the regular Ecoboost will be plenty potent, it genuinely is a quick little motor. However, when you get the HPP model you get the Focus RS engine so if you like that pedigree then there you go. But I would just go regular Ecoboost no problem with me

    Tbth, the six speed manual in the ecoboost isn’t bad. I bought my 2018 ecoboost brand new, and the shifter is a marked improvement over the 2015-2017 models. I’ve experienced little, if any of the negatives many in Mustang forums complain about. My car is a DD, so I’m not really banging the gears all that hard most of the time. However, when I do want to row through the gears quickly I am able to do it without any problems.
    The Tremec would be nice, but would easily bump up the price on the ecoboost - the opposite of the reason why Ford made the model in the first place.
