- Upscale vibe with a small village feel - that place is Yountville California in the Napa Valley and is where we begin our adventure. Known as a foodie bucket list destination but also as very bike friendly and a great place to start a biking adventure to experience wine tasting and the scenic Napa Valley along the vine trail. The vine trail is beautiful off road paved trail in Napa Valley that parallels highway 29 from Yountville to Napa.
We start our day at Bouchon Bakery to get some breakfast and sandwiches for the road. Thomas Keller owns this shop as well as the famous French Laundry restaurant and 3 other restaurants in Yountville.
We stop at Napa Valley Bike Tours and Rentals for some tips on renting bikes in Yountville or Napa.
Our first destination is at Domain Chandon Winery famous for its champagne. A good place to start if you want to visit more than one winery to experience tastings.
There are many rest stops available along the way with benches and interpretive signs. Trees line much of the route. Napa Valley does get hot a few months a year so the shade can be welcome.
The journey along the off road, flat and paved Napa Valley vine trail starting in Yountville is only 3.5 miles to get to Laird Family Estate where we do our wine tasting. Riding fast you could get there in 15 minutes but most people take their time.
From the seat of a bike, you can get closer to the vines, sites, and people that make this valley so special. And, as a bonus, you’ll be burning enough calories to justify your next tasting or dinner at one of Napa Valley's famous foodie destinations.

How I would absolutely LOVE to someday go to Napa Valley! What a beautiful place. I love that you can bike to the wineries! What a cute little bakery! Those macarons and croissants look incredible. Love seeing all of the people out on their bikes or the bikes parked. Nice they have resting places along the trail too. Great idea to get a sandwich from the bakery and sit and relax looking at the vineyard. That sandwich looks so good! Love your footage of the vineyards. Love that giant chicken! Nothing like tasting some wine!

The Napa Valley is starting to become popular here too... and I assure you that in Italy the culture of wine is very important, I think that visiting the vineyards by bicycle is very interesting and allows you to fully savor the landscape... I I would have taken the tandem😄

My wife used to like wine and my drink was dark rum with root beer . Now days we might have a small sip of honey whisky at Christmas or
on really special occasion , I have a very nice all aluminum mountain bike that I never ride . The only bikes I ride have motors , My Harley and
my Ninja and I don't do that too often anymore . If we had nice bike trails (paved) I enjoy riding but the closest bike trail is in Houston 175
miles from us . Looked like a lot of fun you guys ride safe and have a blessed trip .

Wow. Some nice technology in the bikes to be rented. The Eucalyptus and volcano signs were interesting. That's one good looking sandwich. The wineries can't serve lunch? I enjoyed this. I have virtually done a circle around Napa but not Napa. I have been to Santa Rosa, Vallejo, Calistoga, and Vacaville. I will have to change that.
