fantastic man, had the plesure of playing a nice d-18GE on the bluegrassfestival this summer, mighty fine geetars! Thanks for sharing, this could be one of the best version of this song i have ever heard.
The traditional, no-frills version does not extend the Em out for the whole10th measure but instead climbs to a G on the high E string on beat 4. This makes a big difference in how the melody resolves in measure 12 imho. This version here sounds great, just slightly different than the original melody. And that's the beauty of flatpicking arrangements.
You GOT me .. I mean i will visit yor site and buy some of your GREAT Lessons because i wanna be a better player ( I play more Acoustic since one Year , since i `ve bought this Beautiful Martin 000-28 ec , this guitar makes you wanna play better and MORE :-D ) I like your Style greetz from germany
Banjo Ben, I’ve always picked with my thumb and index finger and the rest open. In one of your videos you talk about why it’s best to keep them closed. I’m starting to feel more comfortable picking that way, but feels so awkward strumming. I’m going to continue to practice that way. I’ve been trying to play this song for a very long time from you. I have it memorized but I just can not keep the pace! I kind feel like I hit a brick wall. Do you have any recommendations or lessons I should take a look at to help with my speed?

Shotgun shell Christmas lights FTW!!
That is a great sounding guitar!
Thanks, buddy! That's a Martin D-18 Golden Era. I love it.
Nice. For now Im true to Gallagher Guitars, but I love me a D-18 some day.

Yep, definitely my interpretation of the strict melody.

I have gone back and forth, honestly. I've now arrived at what I consider most important: no tension!

I have a D18 but when I play this my guitar can't do this the same.
Nice lesson but I have to keep pausing and rewinding cuz you blast right through it before I can register what you've done.
Don't forget you can slow down the video play speed by clicking on the gear icon :)
