I see you edited out the part of the video where you had the pull cord wrapped the wrong way I couldn't help but to notice that because it was kicking my ass I wish I could edit my repair because it's not going good
3:09 Also, there are two screws that hold the Back pack part. Make sure to get those! When I did this, it was a LOT easier to just roll the cord I got from that Cobra or Viper Lifetime Unbreakable line and roll it on the spindle, and then just put it on there and thread it through so I had some line left and tied with knot on the pull cord handle so I could easily redo it. Then I put it on, and then just pulled the string till I had it pull back with the recoil, then made a new knot on the handle and it was done. Now the reason why you don't really bother working on these is that by the time problems come up? Other things are going to let go as well. So by the time the Starter cord is needing to be replaced? There is another problem lurking down the line in short order. For me? It's the Choke plastic that gets loose, so you have to hold it in RUN with something as it loses all tension to keep itself up. I have not found a good fix to this yet. Then Just today, after replacing the pull cord the second time? (and on its 3 year warranty END DATE ) The Blower fan as seemed to give up the ghost. PRO TIP: If you like this blower? Buy a few parts spares so you have them on hand. Parts like the Bellows, and other small stuff does go out after a while. The Motor? Its sound and solid. But things like the Foam filter need o be replaced about every few years. I run mine at 40:1 for the first few years to make sure it broke in nice. And I havent really had a problem since. It really is a beat of a blower. Starts right up and is easy to use. Looks great too! It also makes more air flow at Idle then some hand held blowers. THere really is nothing more comfortable and easy to use then this blower, and I love it. It just works. Word to the wise, Make sure you put the Filter in PROPERLY and only Mess with it every few years or so. It lasts FAR longer if you just don't mess with it.
I have had my recondition for 4 hard years now. All I do is clean and maintain it regularly and never put ethanol it it. I like the silly thing. Nice contrast from my 430, which is my fav.
An easier way to get the cord length right is to put more than you need on the spool, then pull it out til it's got the right amount of tension on it and tie your knot where it needs to be. I suggest putting it through the handle and tying a knot close to the end before tensioning it, just in case it slips out of your hands and tries to spool back inside the crack cover.
Planned obsolescence and Home Depot stopped honoring repairs last year. Had mine break 2x in 2 years... Rather DIY once, cry once by getting a viper cord.

Couldn't see half of what you were doing. Explain how to route the cord into the spool would have been a good bit of information.

I’ve had one of these just under 2 years. The pull cord has broken 5 times so far.
I got the LIfetime never break cord. I thinks its a VIper or Cobra brand I got for $20 bucks. Not sure why these go through the cord so fast.
