Almost broke my heart when elinalise had to force up the word “man hunt”.
The Desert Warriors are one of my favorite part, the idea of an entire village made their culture around the Succubus problem, so cool.
30:05 Rudeos is probably remembering the Teleportation incident back home and how people that were touching directly (specifically his father and Norn and Aisha and her mother) were teleported together, so not so weird he said that in the anime. Plus he read some books about teleportation mishaps in dungeons at the beginning of his stay at the magical school.
I thought they should touch before going through prior to it being mentioned. So that concept had been established

I was expecting them to skip over the entire merchant and bandits part but, I was quite surprised they added the little addition of the Succubus, though.
Nanahoshi coming in clutch, again with the "map", the Gryphon fight, the ruins, the Teleportation circle, the harsh desert climate of Begaritt.. It was cool.

for me, as a non-reader, Rudeus telling Elina to hold hands felt more like him figuring out the physical contact off of book and also his experience with teleportation himself. So it didn't feel that weird. But at the same time, it wouldn't be so weird if it was the other way around as it's in the novel.

Love listening to these they are great extra bits of info for us anime watchers and for me it might be the things that pushes me to start reading light novels. I started reading manga originally because I was tired of waiting for new seasons of anime but I’m probably gonna start reading the series myself soon.

The entire journey was such a great story arc. It sucks that they had to cut all of it. I love Rudy and Elinalise’s relationship and this arc was such a great bonding experience, but we unfortunately see very little of it in the anime.

That being said, I can only hope we get all the exciting/heart felt things, like the kind he "... will regret" in the last 5 episodes. Im worried, as it seems like there are too many episodes left for things to go smoothly.
I'm so glad they made the haze look like the area where mangod resides. It's a very missable detail but so much world building.

between the character banter, monster fights, Bazzar, and the caravan, this could have easily been 3-4 episodes. not surprised, but a bit unfortunate. a lot of world and culture building was cut by removing Bazzar/the caravan.
These action/adventure parts are so good and just make me want to play fantasy games. I'm going to get back into DCSS because of this show.

I'm glad we have you here to fill in the gaps (pun intended), but today I learned: I don't mind an adaptation removing shmexual content that would've added a little to a character's development as much as I mind when adaptations add gratuitous shmexual content for no good reason. I get the complaint, though. Especially when it's something as small as the earth pillar scene... Pun intended, again 😂!

EDIT: naming your child before going on a dangerous travel is a death flag in any world.
53:02 They completely cut out that dialogue where she gets frisky? Or just that Rudy holds her? They seem to cut out a lot of fan service scenes now, they must be conscious that a bunch of tourists watch this anime.
I didn't watch this yet, so I'm seeing this with the knowledge of the following episode. If Rudy didn't join up they all could be dead. The most notable being Roxy. Roxy could have died. They may never make it far into the dungeon. The others could die. Elinalise could die on her way there. Norn might have ran off later assuming Rudy caught her the first time. Personally I think he chose the right route so far. Though with foreshadowing from Man God, I also can't help and be worried.

I can see why they skipped a lot due to story relevance and time. I’m sure they want to give the main story and the Teleportation Labyrinth as much time as they can. Sadly, I don’t think they have enough episodes to do either the justice it deserves.
The name of the horse was mentioned in the manga without any explanation. It left me a little bit confused.
The succubus incident and the griffons were not in the manga.
Imagine if the journey was 8 months instead of just 1 month. Rudeus would have done it with Elinalise for sure if its taking that long
This is what happens when you want to appease your fans that are vocal about hating how slow paced they thought the second season was. (Yes it's not as many people as it sounds like it is, but it's apparently a large enough amount that would probably affect viewership and reduce the chances of having sponsors add funds for a 3rd season. ) Although I'm betting a lot of people would have probably liked some of the skipped content.
That's the problem with isekai when they need to establish world building. The same will happen (is happening) in Slime since the 2nd half of the season will cover the whole festival/labyrinth arc which is a rather slow, less action pact part of the story.
@Ri_Shin_Marco Which is honestly sad. I mean, a lot of us do understand it, but unless we're more vocal than like 15%-20% of people that will complain, it's kind of hard to get them to listen. I honestly wish more people would realize that's part of the problem and be a bit more vocal about the positives. (Hell people haven't realized the reason the op is spoiler heavy on the action is basically an attempt to get those viewers to stick around.) Note this is coming from someone listening to the audio book version of the LNs. And even that has the problem of if you do the research you know that they have a lot of the books read to go but want to hold off releasing them because they don't think people would drop that kind of money to pick up the rest of the series on audio in one go. (Check Google's book thing it legitimately lists every release date up for the final book and it's 2 each month and if you check the company that does the library things for audio books they have previews ready for up to 19 or 20 if not further.) (Face_exhaling emote) there's ways they can fix the problem for some things they just sometimes don't think about it.

@@Ri_Shin_MarcoThe way slime did it was cheap and lazy. Sitting in a room yapping isn’t interesting you got to mix it up a bit to keep the viewers intrigued. Look at Dungeon Meshi and how they delivered their political talks it not just sitting in a room it’s mixed with flashbacks and it makes the tension in the feel real.
I'm enjoying the series, even with the missed content, but I don't understand why everything has blue blood. I get the scorpions, that maybe there's something there like the Horseshoe crabs we have in our world, but seriously, even the griffins have blue blood? I'm assuming that's what they were eating later, shouldn't the meat have been somewhat purple if the blood was blue?

Also, I personally don't fully understand why Elinalise wouldn't wanna take care of her curse with Rudy rather than some strangers. I get everything with Sylphie and Cliff, and believe me, I HATE the idea of infidelity with a passion. BUT, if I were Cliff at least, I'd feel better knowing my girl was doing Rudy versus some rando from a bar. I could see it still stinging Sylphie a little bit, but she seems rather okay with the idea of Rudy having a concubine, and helping her Grandmother's curse seems like the type of thing Sylphie would be okay with... Idk, it just struck me as odd...

The rice paet confused me. I saw him light up in the anime and I remember that is because he loves rice. Always hated the food in the demon continent. Which is why Nanahoshi never eats he hates the food there. Rudy just gets used to it. I remember reading the web novel and he found rice a lot earlier but it was too chewy and bigger. Which if he remembered correctly. The Japanese cultivated to their liking to what it is now. That nice white sticky rice you can make many things. He even wanted to try to do that. But it is a lot of work.
It was a good episode none the less. But it did skip a lot. This isn't spice and wolf where it focuses on the economics. So it doesn't focus on the currency. I do wish it would show more detail on how close the two have gotten. Even with Rudy having Pauls face and Elinese hating Paul. Rudy is a man now so he shouldn't look like a child still.

They skipped the bandit chase in the dessert? that would have been a good action scene but yeah, it would stretch the anime. It also introduce the culture and how they normally deal with the succubus

The light novel is great in foreshadow how unprepared Rudy is at Dangerous situations. It's make the later stuff way more inevitable. The succubus, the Griffins, the Bandits and even the scorpions fight... He would have die if Elinalise wasn't there.
