Rover Lord Thanks for watching and following our channel since the beginning. Hard to say what my favourite part is but the section starting 11:22 was definitely fun.
LROR Land Rovers Off Road I agree with you. That was my favorite clip where you had to power through and counter steer to straighten your line, skillfull driving.
When im feeling 'down', i watch this video. Love it! I also use it show other breed owners just how capable our old trucks can be. Cheers cobber. (second viewing this week lol)
What a beast, great video! Picking up this exact model colour too in Jan. So looking forward to it, one owner from my uncle. Have a patrol but always loved the disco's Saved this vid, cheers👍👌
Thanks man. They are top fun and 2 door Rossignols are easy to mod to accept big tyres. Patrols are drivetrains are tough as they get. With the Disco be prepared to go chromo axles if locking the diffs or going bigger tyres. All the best with it mate 👍
Yeah man!! Love this thing, brings back my love affair with discos (well... all rovers if I'm honest...). Saw the old girl up for sale and would have loved to buy it if I had the coin.
The front bar is a TJM Disco 1 unit while the rear is an ARB RRC rear bar that i modified to fit up and tuck right in. Tbh it would have been easier to make it entirely from scratch.
I wanted a diesel disco or defender but nothing beats the sound of the v8. This one definitely sounds straight piped/headers or completely aftermarket. Mine nearly sounds this good lol we need cats here in va unfortunately. How did it do on wheel bearings with the taller tires?
Great video and merry Christmas! I've always enjoyed watching this twin-locked Disco. Your videos have always been a perfect answer to a common question (or statement): does a LR Disco really need axle diff-locks? Many people have tried to convince me, that it doesn't. But I know it makes a great difference having locked all diffs.
Did the D1 do fine running the 33s with enough power/ weight? Looking at getting one Im just worried about the power for the build I want to do with steel bumpers also.
On 33s it did 95% of trails that it did on 35s. The advantage of smaller diff on a discovery means that 33s give almost as much diff pumpkin clearance as 35s on other rigs. Unless your doing steep muddy climbs that require lots of right foot i wouldn't worry about power, id be more worried about drive train strength more than anything else. Swap out axle shafts to hd units as a minimum. Depending on the stuff you'll do you want to look at changing out crown and pinions to something stronger as well.
Sean Young Me too man but im sure we will continue to have fun in our oil burners. Thanks for a great year of wheeling and bring on 2018 for more 4x4 adventures.
dakota beardall haha very little power and torque tbh. I wouldnt recomend it as a base platform for a build, there are plenty of better options to start with.
Merry Christmas! I would like to ask a couple of questions about your setup.. 1) With all the articulation did the vehicle have any issues with the driveshafts/propshafts that were directly connected to it's increased articulation, such as early wear or failures? 2) If the answer is yes to any of the above, did you find any solutions to any problems you may have had? 3) why retain the rear springs but let the front dislocate? I assume you have a purpose for such a setup. I can see by the video your an excellent off road driver, so my question is one of respectful curiosity.. You didn't say why you were retiring the Discovery, I hope it wasn't destroyed in a roll over or some similar catastrophe. Sorry I tend to go on a bit..lol Thank you Great videos as usuall
john Kemple Thanks for the comment and im glad you liked it. No it wasnt destroyed but since building the 110 i didnt really use the disco much and it was looking sad just sitting. I didnt have any problems with drive shafts and just greased them every trip or 2. I was running wide angle prop up front and a wide angle ball joint on the rear A-frame. I tried many combinations of retained/unretained and found by retaining the rear i had the front working much more which gave me a more balanced setup. Hope this answers some of your questions and we wish you and your loved ones a great Christmas and new year 👍
Hey running 3inch Dobinsons flexy coils, with +5 shocks. Cranked/braced trailing arms with wide angle a-frame ball joint. Then eventually ran superior engineering superflex radius arms.
Im asking the Land Rover community howI can unbolt the lug nut in the center of my Land Rover discovery 2004 I I got all of them out except for the centre one!! PLEASE HELP
Bloody Awesome mate. Great vehicle control around 25:50 knowing how far to push it and when to back off but my favourite bit is at 23:33.

Thank you 👍
SKILLS !!
Now.... I know I'm gunna get mine Stuck!!! 😳
Phenomenal driver
Very nicely tucked in bumpers…who built those?
The front bar is a TJM Disco 1 unit while the rear is an ARB RRC rear bar that i modified to fit up and tuck right in. Tbh it would have been easier to make it entirely from scratch.
Insane
Rover made the best sounding v8
Who the fuck would dislike this video.
Awesome stuff
Thanks man 👍

buenas noches . muy buenos videos .
que ejes monta ese discovery con llantas de 6 tornillos ?

cwx37 Thanks for watching our videos. Glad you enjoyed this one 👍
Worlds of difference between locked and open diffs in any vehicle.
At 7.43..... lookin' like somethin' out of Terminator 2.......!!!
Hey mate just wanting to know what you did to make it sound that good
Let the back box rot off !! lol
Saludos 🤙
Necesito saber donde consigo esos vent visor para mi D1
DOUBT A D3 OR 4 WOULD PERFORM LIKE THAT !!
Cant beat Coils !!!!
Since its been decommissioned, does that mean it will be sunk off Terrigal , with The Adelaide ?
Sad day mate, for a Disco , it was sensational.
Haha i wasnt sure if The Adelaide was intentional.
Yep we sure had a lot of fun with her mate and she seemed to take the punishment no problems.
Do you have HD Half Shaft and CV joint? ASHCROFT? KAM? OTHER? THANKS
Gday mate. Awesome rig. Dumb question. But do you recall where you got the neg 40 rims.
Another question. Where do you get all the parts for your modifications. Thanks and more vids please.
They are accumulated from various places including Australia, UK and USA.
LROR Land Rovers Off Road Thanks, I have an '03 Disco and will be modifying for a proper off-road vehicle.
Did the D1 do fine running the 33s with enough power/ weight?

@@lror Okay awesome thank you!! Definitely be upgrading those parts for sure.
Absolutely love the truck... quick q tho... have you got uprated axles and CV's??? Thanks
Tim Parkin Thanks man. Yeah everything is upgraded HD and chromoly. Standard Land Rover components would not cope with the stuff we do.
Awesome landy mate, ive got a disco 3.9 and noticed you dont have a rear sway bar, do you get better flex after removing it?
Sorry for the late reply. Yes you do but you may get a more sway on road.
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
That's power at 23:57!!!
I'm going to miss that sound, sad to see it go
Sean Young Me too man but im sure we will continue to have fun in our oil burners. Thanks for a great year of wheeling and bring on 2018 for more 4x4 adventures.
Love the 2 door d1. Quick question i noticed that in some parts it had 6 stud wheels on. Are you using adaptors or did it have a diff swap?
Daniel Angus Its from various times over a 3-4 year period so sometimes on 33s-35s etc. Adapters were used for the beadlock rims.
I love this rig, but I don't know much about land rovers lol what size v8 did these come with?? And specs please, SOHC, DOHC, or OHV?
dakota beardall It is only a small full alloy 3.5ltr Rover motor. Its old tech originally a Buick motor.
LROR Land Rovers Off Road that's pretty cool, what kind of power and torque did they build, I might have another bucket list engine to build haha
dakota beardall haha very little power and torque tbh. I wouldnt recomend it as a base platform for a build, there are plenty of better options to start with.

6 stud rims on the landy? Is it possible to get some info on that?( looking at putting patrol diffs under my three door)
Patrol diffs would be a good upgrade but make sure you go GU front as a GQ has about the same size cv's as land rover
Another question what supension and tires are you running
3inch dobinsons progressive coils, cranked rear arms, superflex radius arms. Tyres in the vid are a mix of km2 33", toyo 35", creepy crawlers 35"
Are you running 6 stud wheel spacers or are those Toyota shafts?
Hey bud, love your rig! Same colour as mine 😊
Where did you get that roof rack? Looks decent
Matthew Salt Cheers man 👍 Got the rack from Powerful 4x4 in Sydney.
love mine although it is currently not running..I`ll get back to you.
hi just wanting to know what sort of lift that disco 1 is running to fit those tires
Hey running 3inch Dobinsons flexy coils, with +5 shocks. Cranked/braced trailing arms with wide angle a-frame ball joint. Then eventually ran superior engineering superflex radius arms.
Awesome rig man!
What axle shafts and CVs did you use in the build?
Tom Blair Thanks man. I was running hytuff axles and ashcroft cv's with gbr ring and pinions.
good to know, thanks
Sad to see the old girl being retired.
SHALINI NAICKER Agreed 🙁
Exhaust Setup?
This bloke can wheel
what size lift is on the green disco ,and what size tires?
3 inch lift and a mix of 33 and 35 inch tyres in this vid.
why did you get rid of her?
what brand is the lift kit?
Im asking the Land Rover community howI can unbolt the lug nut in the center of my Land Rover discovery 2004 I I got all of them out except for the centre one!! PLEASE HELP
Lug nut in the centre? Im not sure what you mean. If its the axle nut they are staked but a big rattle gun will take care of it.
Can u post the mods
+LROR
Hey mate how do you find the dislocation front? Im looking at upgrading my set up but dont know much about the dislocation kits
Work really well in the front and i havent had issues. Also running them in the front of the 110. Both vehicles have retained rears.
morrrrr disco1 plzzzzz
I have a video of me a mate and his gf bashing around in the bush in one if these
She fair takes a punishment
CUMMINSANDSCANIAV8 She also never let me down
And just the 3.5, not 3.9, 4.6 etc
IM CURRENTLY BIDDING ON ONE 2018
