Very Nice. I also teach realism and I tell my students a lot of these same things.
That's awesome! And great to know that my tips are on track :D
Bonsoir Ashley, tres beaux tableaux, ! J adore ! 😃😃❤❤👏🇨🇵
Bonsoir Josiane!!! et merci
I would have left the ear tag off the bovine for sake of painting!!! I could say more here now, likely, too.
Yes, I've heard others say to use black and white reference photos, but I find that it makes everything very confusing when I'm trying to figure out the right colors and where certain objects stop and start. I suppose it's more useful if you're cross-referencing the original photos with black and white photos of your work to double-check the values, but otherwise I don't love trying to go from b/w to color as much as I'm supposed to or something?
Very fair! :)
Really the black and white is meant to evaluate how light and dark the colors are that you are putting down. So in that instance, you usually are also cross referencing another photo, or you just know what colors are going where. Value is super important in order for something to look real :). @@Highland_Paddy
@@ashleytoltonart Yes, in a perfect world, but often I have only an old photo for reference or sometimes the color toner runs out, right?
Potentially. I work off of an Ipad most of the time for that very reason :)@@Highland_Paddy
