What a beauty, great condition. I like your vids. I wish I could get them in Europe. Shipping and import tax makes them to exspensive to import from the US.
I have five USA 51ot's. One of them being my father's he purchased around 1979. He carried it until the mid 90s when Gerber introduced the gator and he retired it. I think the 51ot's blades are SS. My father's doesn't have any patina anywhere on the knife. The big timer I carry has yet to patina and I use it on food. I own a OT trapper and the first time I cut a potato with it the blade darkened. Just my two cents. Thumbs up on the video!
I have a Schrade Founders Edition kit which consist of the 3 blade knife, a money clip, and the tin which it all came in. I have not opened up the kit and have it all still in the package it came in. It say's " Made in U.S.A." and that was the main reason I purchased it from Wal-Mart. My knife does have "USA" on the knife blade also to verify that it was made in this country also along with the package information.
You are 100% right. The Schrade Knives made after 2004 are Chinese and don’t have the country of origin on the tang. The Chinese Knives just say “Schrade”.
I like these knifes:) I have a older one with fake pearl type scales on it. Also bought a Taylor brand one a few years back for $15 new with sheath and its actually pretty good for the price. Yes I have seen that to of people trying to pass off newer shrade made in china as USA ones. Beware!
Nice. I haven't seen the pearl handle one I don't think. I was going to buy a new one just to get the sheath for this one some time. These are cool knives!
Very Nice !!
Another model I'd never seen .

Personally, I haven't seen one in decades. What a wonderful find, Jeremy!
just found one in my late father's effects. looks like he carried it a bit. Nice and sharp. Tip is a bit rounded
Thank you for the informative video.
I think they call that a kings grind. At least it seems like I've read that somewhere.
I still have mine I bought in the early '80's. Very well made knives and I always liked the scales. Great channel!
Great looking knife and sheath.just love the blade shape and size.atb paddy.
I just love the pinch open blade idea. No nail nick for cheese to get stuck in. lol
Man, just listening to you read Schrade's description made me want to buy TWO of them!😄
Mine is stainless..bet urs is to...some were..some were not.

Great knife. Got my grandpa's I carry daily. Gonna wet form a sheath for it to get it out of my pocket. BTW this knife is stainless not carbon steel
+ always means stainless, no + doesn't always mean carbon

Do you know how many different schrade USA models there were?
85 that i can think of off the top of my head
Can't remember if they also called this style an "Elephant Toe" or not.

tools don't have origin anymore either. it was probably a bill passed to keep the flow coming from china
Oil only prevents rust..not a patina...looks like it was reconditioned.
