Matilda Anna Ingrid Lutz has created a perfect image in my mind of how Simonetta Cattaneo Vespucchi easily could have looked like. There are rumors that she and Giuliano De Medici were lovers, it's not for certain. Also, it is believed that Sandro Botticelli was in love with her, and she was the inspiration for many of of his paintings.

Don't know about the former statement about G. de Medici, but it is pretty much self evident that Sandro Botticelli must have been in love with Simonetta Cattaneo Vespucci, and 'beyond' in love...considering that he asked for to be buried at her feet, a wish that oddly enough was in fact, granted.
She was his muse several years after her passing, from 'la Primavera' commenced a year after her passing, to 'The Birth of Venus' 9 years after the passing of Simonetta Cattaneo Vespucci.
Pretty much every woman he painted, was with her in mind.
