This is my favorite tutorial on this technique. The description and pace is perfect. As a knitter of 10+ years, I still return to it as a refresher from time to time. Thank you!
I can't tell you how many videos I've watched trying to learn this method. Yours is the only one that gave me that "Ah Ha" moment. Casting on was no problem but I was getting purls instead of knit stitches. I finally get it! Thanks so much for a great, easy to follow video.
best tutorial i've watched for turkish cast-on on dbl point needles - clear instructions and good pace for newbies. i thank you and my daughter's feet thank you
This is GREAT! I absolutely hate magic loop, and don't care for the method with 2 circs. I have so many toe up patterns that I haven't made, because of the hassle of the cast on. I'm good to go now!
Thanks so much. New years resolution contain challenging myself to learn new techniques including toe up socks. I've only ever knitted socks on dpns and I just can't get friends with magic loop so this really is a great help.
Thank you so much for this video, It 's not stoopidly long like most others and easy to understand. I tried with circular needles but they snag at the joins so I'm going back to my dpn's.
Thank you so much for showing the toe up cast on with dpns. Much better cast on instead of magic loog. Do you have another podcast to show how you inc on your rows?
Excellent tutorial but I got the stitches so tight I couldn't get the thread back thru by the time I got to the 3 stitch. After many attempts I got cross so I cast on (long tail) 18 stitches and using 2 needles I knit one and then slipped the second stitch with second needle . So I knit every 1, 3, 5, 7 and 9th stitch and slipped the 2, 4, 6, 8 and 10th stitch. It worked and was easier but not quite as pretty but still no seam so I am happy to be able to knit toe ups. 🤪
Starting out the video by saying "it isn't the best method" really does not inspire much confidence. Why is this not a good method? If it's not a good method, why teach it? I am new to knitting and am wondering why this is not a good option for making socks? Thank you in advance
Thank you very much. I needed that "thumb goes thru the middle & over the top, etc" So helpful.

ro li Actually this is Judy's Magic cast-on; the Turkish cast-on involves wrapping two needles together. [I find Turkish cast-on easier.]

I found it very easy the way she described it. Great instructions.
Is the first toe up cast on video I watched that I actually feel like I could do on the first try. Thank you so much for a clear explanation and demo!
Excellent tutorial. Thank you so much! I was able to knit the Scatterby pattern thanks to you.
This was very helpful! The work was indeed quite fiddly but the result looks great and I managed to get it right on the first try. Thank you!

Wow! Thank you so much! I am doing the Journey Knit Along right now and only have dpns!

I just found this very helpful video. Thank you so much !!!
Thank you so much. Perfect instructions...I got it right on the first attempt.
This is not Turkish cast on. This is magic cast on. Turkish wraps yarn around both needles.
Very helpful - thank you!
what kind of DPN's are those?
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS VIDEO !!!!!!!!
Where is the pattern?
The end was super confusing from the moment you flipped it to start knitting on the other needle.
