This area of Joburg is cleaner and safer than São Paulo city centre in Brazil.
In this video what we can see is people searching anything to do, picking up materials for recycling, selling auto parts, and of course submitting to illegal activities (criminality). Due to a high level of unemployment and poverty.
I can not see people getting high with drugs look like streets of USA and Latin America cities.

Let’s talk facts, this is a small immigrant neighborhood in Johannesburg, the immigrants came when black Africans reclaimed their land, this looks like Philadelphia, or Oakland, California, or Skid Row, California, or the west side of Chicago, and it’s so many more neighborhoods that look like this in the US that I probably couldn’t count them, Johannesburg is twice the size of New York city, and it’s a beautiful city, you have a Rosebank, do you have Stanton city, do you have waterfall city, and in 2010 they built the subway system, which makes New York subway system look like a pile of💩 it’s clean and safe, and I love how they spray down the seats before new passengers, Kim board, plus they have a high-speed rail system that most white south applicants didn’t want, probably because they didn’t want progress in South Africa but the black leader ship built a high speed rail system that’s clean and modern, so let’s stop with the propaganda videos. South Africa is doing fine lol the US doesn’t have high speed rails 😂😂😂

Be serious, when the UK leaves they knock everything over on their way out the door. Most countries don't spot them doing it. Even Ireland, they divided into north and south creating decades of trouble and poverty. In India Pakistan, they just made that on their way out the door. Once Ireland figured out the trap the UK left on their way out the door they out a stop to it and thrived and do better than the UK. South Africa still hasn't realized it's in a trap. He told me his sister lives in an area that's safe bc its patrolled by private security firms and the residents pat for it automatically through their taxes or wtvr. He was in Johannesburg in January and he told me the electricity went out multiple times, needless to say over 35 years ago that shit didn't happen. Why do certain people make every area they live in look like a dump. Why dont they just get it and change. Of course not all of them are like this, but a good proportion are. Its discouraging and disheartening, because you know people can do better than this.

I don't understand your title. That is not Kensington in Johannesburg. I know Kensington very well. I lived there and went to Jeppe Boys High School and also Queens High School. I left when I was about 21 yrs of age to move to family in the Cape. Erich now living in New Zealand.

i think he mean to say that south africa is the Kensington of africa... and by the way, not sure how long ago it was that you lived in kensington johannesburg but it also degraded a lot... a few of my mates and cousins also attended Jeppe boys and girls school.
