I feel comments like yours is done under a certain agenda. People will buy products like this because they think it’s an improvement of modern technology considering the alinement of bristles. That can be said is true, but the same can be achieved by angling most brushes a certain way. It’s not blind consumption without any thought as virtue signaling or self-righteous boasters at the expense of others wants people to believe; but it is people being attracted to products that will make their life easier.
Sometimes it’s better to stop and think on what one has, and how it can be used another way to achieve the same effect. That is the point. Socially ostracizing people for moral points isn’t.

Oval shaped brushes hold the loose hair in the brush tho. Some of these newer brushes dont catch the hair so it falls on your shoulders or your floors. lt really depends on ur needs. I have really thin hair that barely gets tangled so i just use any brush.

    • @latte754
      @latte754 6 місяців тому +21

@@doeeyes2At least in my experience, as long as the brush has a rubber base where the bristles start as opposed to being entirely made of plastic, it will catch hair no matter what shape it is. A lot of newer brushes are being made without the rubber though, and I’ve noticed a lot more shapes of hair brushes in recent years so it might just be that square brushes are often newer and made of plastic

I’m a natural brunette but have had bleached blonde hair for 15 years, I don’t use any heat on my hair so it’s super long and healthy, but because I bleach I still have to be really careful about brushing when wet. Oval brushes snagged and pulled out a lot, the brush would be full of hair. When I switched to the big square ones I’d only have a few pieces of hair in the brush and it doesn’t pull or snag at all 😃

I have 4c hair, so suuuuper tight curls and the unbrush SHOCKED me to my core! It works so well! I tried it with pre-detangled and undetangled hair, it was effective for both and accomplished more than what my denman brush could in minutes! It may not be for everyone but for those with maybe thicker, unmanageable hair, it's a time saver 😁👍 The tip is useful though!
Edit: should also mention I tried it on DRY hair, not damp and it still did the trick (albeit, it still had a little resistance to it but it nonetheless got through it faster than my denman. I do suggest brushing through damp hair when detangling for styling just cuz it makes the process faster and smoother but it still works well while dry 👍

@@SherryDoodlez I’m saying the opposite. It works better the curlier your hair is. I don’t think it works for non-curly hair. My hair is very fine, long and prone to frizziness. I switched from a brush which would always break my hair and make it even frizzier to a bamboo comb. It doesn't cause damage or frizziness, less hair falls out during a brushing, and the bamboo allows for a good distribution of natural hair oils all throughout. You have a wet brush, and that's not meant to detanangle hair as fast as possible, it's meant to prevent breakage when detangling. It has super flexible prongs that will bend before they rip apart a tangle, and the different lengths of prongs also makes it more gentle. I have a wet brush that I use for detangling because I lose so much hair when I use my other brush that has those perpendicular chanels. I use that one for styling, but i use my wet one because even though it may take me a couple swipes to get through a tangle, I know it's because it's gentle and not breaking my hair

Definitely, I went to school for cosmetology specifically to be a hairstylist, more people brush their hair incorrectly than correctly, Always start from the ends and go to the roots, hold the brush in the way it’s meant to be held (just look at the bristles) and if your hair is wavy or curly I personally like to dampen it so it doesn’t get frizzy (this also helps to detangle it quicker)

This is true that when you brush your hair through with your hairbrush being in straight lines it passes through more easily but the problem with that is you may not actually detangle your hair all the way. I heard this from a hairstylist, basically when the bristles are in a straight line your brush acts like a wide tooth comb and when they are not it acts as a fine tooth comb. So if you have very hard to detangle hair you should use it through the straight lines first but then also do the other way to get all the tangles out. I hope I explained it in a way that makes sense 😅

Denman Grooming brush is my HG for my thick hair, don't matter if you start brushing from the top of your head or the bottom of your hair it ain't gonna snag at all! It so gentle on the hair, makes it soft and smooth ❤

I also want to point out that the unbrush doesn’t have the little round balls on the end that can collect dust and dead skin cells and the back isn’t spongy therefore making the unbrush much easier to clean than other brushes which can be a benefit people who like to keep their brushes clean

I have big curls and thin hair, it gets really dry and tangled easily, but for some years I've had only what I'd describe as diagonal brushes and really wide tooth combs, and they pass marvellously, it makes so easy to care for my hair. I don't need any of those weird products supposedly special for curly hair.

I’m black. I have textured hair. I have been brushing my own hair since I was five and it has ALWAYS hurt. My husband just got me the unbrush and I legit cried. It was the first time in 20 years I brushed my hair and it didn’t hurt.

I saw this too and just changed how I held my brush. I’m not buying som expensive nonsense if my cheap brush does the same thing when I hold it like some renaissance era princess 😂

Years ago i was given the tip to use the demen brush vertically and it made it so much easier to use/Detangle w/it so this makes sense!

Great advice for anyone who this simple change in how they brush would work. ❤However for the comments that keep talking about consumerism, please keep in mind that sometimes people can’t just simply hold the brush another way. (Someone with arthritis for one example.)

You also should start at the bottom and then work your wat to the top to lessen the chance of tangles when you get to the bottom.

Regular brushes are meant to be held diagonally, which is the natural way you will hold it while brushing your own hair

daughter of hairstylist here: The "right way" to brush brush your hair is start from the ends going up to the roots, this way you untangle any knots that would stop your brush from passing if you do Root-ends. Of course this depends on which hair, but the general rule is Ends to roots, this way you also avoid breaking your hair from trying to untie a knot by just passing your brush over and over it until the knot breaks your hair

No wonder i got so attached to my wooden avon paddle brush 😂 its been my go to for around 20 years and has a giant split down the middle. Its still comfy in the hand, gentle on the hair, and those plastic beads are STILL attached. My mom sassed my grandma when she gifted me it when i was 8, but i mean, it was obviously a good gift imo 😂

the flex dry wet brand brush works for this aswell! if your hair gets stuck in a channel the brush flexes and your hair slides through~
