I only recently started loom knitting and you are the funnest, easiest and calmest teacher I have ever seen. I love your videos and I’ll definitely continue watching all of your videos. Thank you! ❤️😊🌸
I am a beginner but wanted to challenge myself. It took a few practice trials but now I am ready! It is so pretty and I am so proud of myself for learning. Thank you for teaching it!
Hi Denise! OMGOSH another amazing piece! I can honestly say I love EVERYTHING u create! I know I’ve commented this to u before, but it’s because of u that I learned to loom knit. Denise, u r an amazing teacher & creator!!!💕 if there’s any newbies reading my comment, don’t be afraid, I promise, U CAN DO IT!!! ☺️🥰💕 Love & Hugs,Donna
I also wanted to add that I do appreciate that u let us know how much yarn is needed for the cowl. U went above & beyond to meet our needs & questions💕💕💕💕
Lion Hometown = my favorite yarn, because it's soft, fabulous colors, it's at Wal-Mart.
Loomahat = my favorite teacher

❤ cowls, thanks!
My favorite yarn! I just had pulled out my largest round loom to stitch a cowl❤
Thank you for your videos. I'm still learning and I always look for your videos. I just love how you teach. Thank you so much for sharing your skills. 🫶✨️🌞🧶💚
A family member purchased some knitting looms for me and I have NEVER knitted previously. I came across your video when looking for tutorials and it was an awesome find! You made it very easy to fallow and I am super excited to see my finished scarf. Thank you for taking the time to make this video, especially for beginners such as myself. I can't wait to try your other tutorials. Much love
Thank you for teaching me how to knit. Your instructions are so clear. Thank you so much.
Working on the cowl right now and almost done. Love this stitch! Thank you Denise🤩
You are so welcome!☺
Denise thank you for posting such nice loom projects. I was given a set of looms last year for Christmas and crafted two hats following your tutorial. I would not be able to loom without your instructions. Looking forward to giving this beautiful cowl a try. Thank you for your time and effort!
Thank YOU for the Thank you Wanda, I really appreciate it !
She is the best online teacher for loom knitting. Now if only she did macrame, I would be very happy.
hermoso pero las letras no Dejan ver ok gracias
I'm so happy to have found your videos Denise! You are very very good! I just finished making this cowl yesterday for my sister and I cannot wait to give it to her today as a Christmas gift. It turned out absolutely beautiful!!! Thank you so much. :)
Great stitch and excellent tutorial. Thank you for sharing your skills with us!
So I know this cowl was done last year, I’m going to put this up in case anyone is looking at it again:) I loved this purl 8 stitch, cowls though are not my thing, I have a double chin so lol 😂but again I loved the stitch so I decided to play around with it to suit what I like. I made an infinity scarf using this stitch, same yarn, same loom size, changed the number of pegs to 15, and stitched 120 rows total.👍 This is a 6 bulky yarn I used so adjust it depending on what you use. Mine came out exactly as I was hoping! Maybe someone else saw this the same way & this will give them an idea, who knows:) hope it helps someone.
THANK U ❣️❣️❣️
I used it on an Afghan loom and made a 6 foot by 6 foot blanket. It's perfect size for the sofa and so great to snuggle up with.
Thank you for the explanation this will be my next project. God bless you.
Thank YOU !!!
Thanks again for a beautiful pattern. I have been doing a revised version of Tuteate's seed stitch cowl and made several for gifts. Now I have another awesome version I will be using for the holidays. Thanks again, Denise.
While I didn't use the Figure 8 purl for a cowl like you show here. I used this stitch for a thinner version of a long infinity scarf with very soft yarn called cloud 9 and a cowl with thin but shiny yarn that was smaller. They both have different looks and I made a matching hat for the cowl and an ear warmer for the infinity scarf. I don't know if my sisters enjoyed the project, but I would be proud to wear it. Denise, you give me so many cool ideas that I want to keep learning what can be done with loom knitting.
Love love all your videos I love that your videos are not fast and you give us a close up video you take your time thank you love looming with you😀

Thanks ma’am very well explained awesome teaching love from Australia
Beautiful cowl! Thank you for posting the video. Without your videos I would be totally lost!!! 😁
Thank YOU for the Thank you Misty !!!
Thank you so much! Beautiful stitch! You are a great teacher. You taught me how to loom knit. I am waiting for you to do a 10 Stitch , and then maybe I can learn how. I have tried several ways, but can’t get it.
Since I did it yarn in front, ribbit! Gonna try an easier stitch pattern.
I struggle deciding which stitch to use, as I don't really like rib stitch, idk why. E-Wrap rolls, even if it's fastest. I've only made 3 baby-size blankets, 4th one, I'm 3rd skein on long loom. As tall as I am. Very pretty.
When you want to do a project using ewrap, try doing a garter stitch border first. That will prevent it from curling. Garter stitch is one row ewrap, one row purl.
I’m starting this cowl today! This is beautiful. I hope mine comes out equally as nice
Best explaining ever thank you! Hoping to make one of these asap!!
Very beautiful pattern really appreciate this video. Thank you for all your hard work.💗
Thank YOU for the thank you! 😊 💛🌻
This is beautiful. You have a lot of patients with making this and explaining how to make this. 😊
This is absolutely beautiful. I’m going to try to make this. Love it.
such a lovely cowl. so glad i came across your podcast.
Thank YOU Regina!
love love all your Videos Denise ❤❤❤
I Love LOVE that you love love me videos. 🤗😘🤗😘🤗
Hi Denise. I'm making an afghan with this stitch. Its turning out really nice. Eventually I'm going to have to cast off and it seems casting off with u knit is the more popular but I think casting off with e wrap would be a less tight result in the end.🤔🎅🤶
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year
I enjoyed so much doing this project, thank you for sharing !
I made this but I made a scarf out of this stitch out of this pattern, turned out beautiful!!
Hi I’m new to looming I’ve always done knitting and crocheting but fancies a change. The problem I had was the round loom I have had the pegs very close together so couldn’t use the thicker wool so I’m doing it with DK so I’m hoping it’ll come out ok. I’m only one my 5th row so a lot to go through. If I’m ok with it I may get other looms. I love these stitches as the plain knit and purl are boring lol so I really hope it goes ok. Thank you for your video and I will be looking at your others now. Wish me luck haha
Was so scared to put the stitches back on the loom after I finished all my rows. First try - short one. Ok will try again. I can't be afraid of yarn! This stitch is beautiful!
Oh wow - it turned out fabulous! Thank you for the pattern!
OMG I love this!
AWESOME 😁 cus I love it too -one of my favorites 💛
Very NICE!!!! Looks cozy warm!!!!
Hey Vaun- I made one for my hubby and added an extra 5 inches in length. Like 8 - 10 more rows. I’ll try to see if I can strong arm him into taking a pic for me. Do you follow me on Instagram?
Bet it came out awesome !!!!! Love cowls....i usually make them on zippy looms....i will try this❤💜💛💚💙
My favorite youtuber 💜💜 always a fan
Thanks for teaching me a lot
Happy to hear that! Thank YOU sooooOOOOooo much !!! 💛💛💛
I was just thinking about making something like this. I saw an infinity scarf that can be pulled down around the shoulders - this cowl would work just as well!! Thanks so much Denise!!
Love you videos how detailed and slow they are showing everything! I have 3 more beanies to make from one of your free patterns and then I'll be purchasing this one to make me one!! Love hearing the cha ching from your Etsy shop!! :)
This is better than a scarf. Especially when you live in California where it doesn’t get that cold. I’ve already finished one 🙂
Thank you so much for sharing this technique! I agree it is beautiful! I've been looking for a good loom tutorial for a minute. I can't understand half of them for some reason. Your way of teaching is very effective. You are literally putting money in my pocket by teaching me this, and I appreciate it lol! You have you a new devoted subby here. I will have to check out your other vids. By the comments, I'm suspecting you have some good ones. Yay! So happy. Although I am a bit mad at you lol. I had to rip up my work after the 1st row because I got confused by what you were saying about not doing the purl on the last peg and then I forgot where I was at and didn't know how to fix it! Wah! Gurl, you don't know how long it took me to do that first row of the figure 8 purl! LMAO. My fault I should have watched the whole thing before I started it. No big deal. I am excited to start over. Also, I was hoping to make this an infinity scarf instead of a cowl. Is there a difference in technique other than making it longer as in more than 52 rows? Hopes not. Anyway, you're awesome, ok thanks again!
I love your work 🌺
you make everything look so easy. Thank you for sharing it
Thank YOU for the Thank you 😊
beautiful stitch thank you for sharing I am doing a scarf using the same stitch and it looks so beautiful
Crow is beautiful, can't wait to make one myself. Thank you
I just finished making this! Thank you so much it came out lovely :)
Denise!! Another awesome pattern! Love love love you and your patterns.
Lani, my dear friend- you better put a rocket on your hook because I’m trying to get A Lot out before the year ends. Love Ya !!!!!
@@LoomaHat Bring it on, I have nothing but time and a bunch of subscription yarns to work with, and a bunch of scraps.!
Love this so much and I've just completed one cant believe how quick you can make its up. On to the next one 1 this may get addictive ☺
It is very addictive. Ive made over 50 hats since the beginning of the year. Lol.
Thank you a lot, Denise! I will try this one with super bulky yarn and with chenille yarn. It must be gorgeous as your cowl is. :)
Thank YOU Alena
Absolutely STUNNING! Thank you!
I can’t wait to try this
Go for it ! You'll be glad you did - the pictures don't do justice to this project. The cowl is beautiful and with the right yarn, it feels amazing. 🙂
Thank you I love when you start from the right as I work better start from that side. Hope that I don’t sound selfish
I doesn’t sound selfish - I like it better too. I struggle when I go from left to right. But, between you and I, it’s a left handed method. What’s crazy 😝 I’m not left handed. 🤣
Love your videos im learning so much from you thank you
Hello! I've been looming for years now and your videos are always my favorite! I'm currently trying this stitch for the first time and I don't understand why but the stitches are loose with big holes, not tight together like yours. What am I doing wrong? I'm using Bernat Softy Chunky #6 and extra large loom like your video 😢
Good job ..
Thank you very mach from Libya
Absolutely beautiful Ms Denise
I've watched so many videos, but yours are so easy to understand, thanks for taking time and explaining things so clearly
Thank you for taking the time to give me some super sweet feedback 🥰
It’s so gorgeous! Guess I’m making a trip to Michael’s craft store today. 😅 Keep up the good work!
Thank YOU mistkitty88 !!!
Děkuji za krásné video :-)
You’re so good! Thank you.
Excited to try this. Your videos rock - thank you 👏🏼🙏🏻
Milijun Like for this video, I love it ♥️
Thank YOU !!! 💛
I love your videos, thank you!
Thank YOU 😊
I just completed this project and I loved it! So much fun. I just got the oval looms for xmas and was wondering if I use the 70 peg loom, do I still use the same amount of pegs as the video? Or go back/forth (panel) from 1 to 70?
Спасибо! Мне очень понравилось видео! Все понятно! Красивое плетение! Hello from Odessa, Ukraine!))) Thank you so much!
What a pretty stitch! Thanks for all the helpful tips👍
Knitting is so cool.
It really is !
If you use a smaller yarn the end result will be a different pattern but it still looks awesome. 😊😊
So beautiful! I love it
Thank YOU Elle !!!
Hello, I have to say that I absolutely love all your videos and tutorials! I have a question. I have dexterity issues and the full wrap or an e-wrap knit stitch is easier for me to do than the half wrap. Would it be acceptable to do the e-wrap with this cowl or would it change the look of the pattern substantially? I'm new to loom knitting and I don't always understand how the stitches behave. Thanks for all that you do!
Hi Wendy! Thank you for the sweet feedback, I really appreciate it 💛. The eWrap is VERY different from the other versions of the knit stitch and really changes the look and size of the project. Here is a video that explains more: How to Loom KNIT STITCH 4 Versions (k) On a Loom | e-Wrap U-Wrap Flat True Classic aka Stockinette

Thanks for sharing.I'm give it a try.
Nice one.
Thank YOU ! 😊
This looks very beautiful! Can I do this pattern for a regular scarf ?
Really nice!
You have inspired me to start loom knitting! If I wanted to make the hole smaller so it will fit snug around the face do I just use less pegs?
I’ve cast off the same way. Finally somebody showed me how to make it look better. I think that this is the last message 🙏🏽
😘Dorothy- I hope this is NOT your last message. I SOooooo appreciate your engagement and positive/kind feedback ! You have blessed me over and over again.
LoomaHat.com I had already sent two messages before the last one. I have your notifications on lock. Love your work.
My FAVORITE cowl. Made 10 last yr and will do several this year. Used Hometown and this yr will try James C Brett with a 5/8 gauge
Hello 👋🏽 I love this video. I want to make this with matching hat. Would I be able to this up the same way just going all the way around? I hope my question makes sense 😅
No - this is done by knitting flat (back and forth) - the hat is down in the round (circular) - here is a post and video for the matching hat
www.loomahat.com/purl-in-8-hat
Another great project thank you x
Thank YOU - here is the matching hat ua-cam.com/video/rBMa_s6A1-w/v-deo.html
Yikes!! My loom has 37 pegs, will it make s difference
Thanks girl you are awesome I learning g so much ❤
Merry Christmas
I love this cowl,....if I want to make this into a youth cowl neck do I use a 28 peg and say 35-40 rows if I don't want it as long? (price is a factor). Thanks so much. I love your videos!
Yes - reduce the number of pegs (stitches) and reduce the number of rows. It's a good idea to measure as you knit. 💛
Love this, can't wait to try it thank you.
Any chance you could do a video on how to finish off a dreadlocks hat. It's an open finish rather than a closed hat. The dreadlocks have a hole to come out the back, I'm having awful problems. Please help xxx
I think this one might work for you m.ua-cam.com/video/GBLtdKb0bIQ/v-deo.html&vl=en
@@LoomaHat thank you so much. I really fancy this for myself too. I'll have a go tonight, thanks for such great videos
Can't wait to try this!
Very nice 😍 ❤
If I were to make this scarf opened instead of circular and wider than what the pattern calls for, how would I do it? I'm new to loom knitting (knitting in general) and directions for "hacks" would be fantastic :)
Excuse me why i got asquare stitch when i was on the second raw there was aspace shaped square that you don't have in yours
I made it for two times and i got the same reslut
Thnx inadvance❤️
Stitches sometimes don't look right until you knit more rows because your fabric is stretched out by the knitting. So knit more rows and it should look fine if you are knitting the stitches correctly.
This is gorgeous! Just what I’ve been looking to make! Thanks:) I do have some bulk 5 yarns, is that not quite enough? I noticed you said 6 in the video....just curious if 6 is the minimum.
Baybarb27 you can use any size yarn. You just might need to adjust your stitch count to get the size you want.
Also, you will want to match your yarn with the peg distance on your loom (aka use an appropriate loom for the yarn you want).
You can use this same loom with a bulky weight yarn (the stitch will just be a bit less dense and the fabric more stretchy) or with a 3/4" or 5/8" loom. Each one will give a slightly different tension and density to the knitted fabric.
Before connecting, I see your back onto the first peg, did you knit that last peg as if you were starting a new row again? I can’t write this to properly explain what I mean haha I hop I make some kinda of sense
Very beautiful thank you
How many pegs we have to do for a four years old girl and how many lines 🌺🌺
Love this pattern! Do you think this could be made into a lapghan with #4 yarn and 1/2" gauge?
