From 15th Century to Today: How to Find Treasures in Linnean Collections

The Linnean Society's Collections are rich and diverse. They range from the 15th century to today, and cover the whole study of natural history, including botany, zoology, evolutionary theory, etc. They are used by scientists, historians of science, botanical artists, filmmakers, family historians, and much more. The collections include books (including rare books), journals, manuscripts, letters, notebooks, diaries, painting, drawings, artefacts, and biological specimens. All these different materials are curated and catalogued according to different standards, which can make navigating our collections confusing.
Whether you are an undergraduate student just starting at University, a seasoned scholar used to libraries and archives, or an amateur researcher curious about our collections, this talk will have something for you!
