I can't wait till you stitch the sunflower on the wreath. Your pictures of the birds are beautiful. How exciting. Your knitting blocks came out good. I have tried knitting and crocheting, it not my thing. It's good to try new things🌻
Thanks Cindy! You should see the Sunflower come to life later this year, if I can stay on track and not get too distracted, lol!
Love your cross stitch wreath I enjoyed so much watching your videos and listening to your stories and the bird so amazing so happy for you you got to see the birds how exciting thank you for sharing
Thank you Anna! I always appreciate you kind comments! Happy stitching :)
Hi Christine. This is for your bird nerd part of your video. First of all, I love that coffee cup. I have three just like that. My birds are the Blue jay ,black-capped chickadee, and a northern cardinal. And secondly, I too love the Cedarwaxwing. It’s a beautiful bird. Your photography is awesome. Also, I love the knitting project you’re doing. What a great way to learn new stitches. Have fun!
Thank you Liz! I love those mugs! My local bird store sells them all and they are all beautiful! I should get a few more 😊 Happy March!
Great stitchy progress. Congrats on catching some rare bird footage. I enjoyed visiting with you tonight. Have a great weekend & stitch on 🤘🦩
Thank you for hanging out with me!! Have a great stitchy March!
Beautiful stitching, as always. Thank you for sharing the birds card, love iy!🤩
Thank you! I'm happy you enjoyed the bird story :)
Good idea to cut the floss cards down! Your projects are very inspiring; making me want to start a new kit!
Thanks Joanne! I say start a new kit! 😁
Gorgeous stitching, and I love birds too!
Thank you!!
That wreath just gets better and better it is absolutely beautiful
Thanks! Dimensions kits never disappoint!
Loved the bird story and the Dimensions thread tip. Thanks.
Thank you! Definitely give the thread tip a try, I love it!
Loved your bird story Christine. The photos you captures are gorgeous! Great progress on your Dimensions Wreath. I might need to add that one to my wish list. The colours are so pretty. Good for you for upping your knitting game. I’m inspired by your persistence in learning something new and being willing to put in the work. I am the opposite. I learned to knit at a young age but would like to learn to crochet. I have tried to teach myself a couple of times but wimp out and give up because it seems hard to me. I am going to look and see if I can find a similar book to yours but for crochet and try to work my way through it so that I can learn and get better. Thanks for another great video! Take care 😊
I truly think if you can give yourself a few days of dedicated practice with crochet, you will find that it's quite easy. Keep me posted 😁
The wreath is so pretty! It's been on my wishlist for a while now. Happy stitching
Thank you! It's a joy to stitch!
Wreath is looking great! Your knitting stitches are so nice and even: I think any garment you attempt will look great🙂. About once a year we get large flocks of Cedar Waxwings in our area and it is always SO exciting!
Oh, thank you Jenn! I just realized I never left a comment on you most recent uploads...I did watch, though and I'm always so inspired by all your projects. Happy Stitching!
Great video Christine. The dimensions wreath is beautiful! Love the colors. I really enjoyed your Bohemian Waxwing story. I usually see waxwings in some crabapple trees on my walk in the spring and fall. Such beautiful birds and they have such a quiet song. I’ve been seeing swans flying this week so I’m hoping spring will be here soon in Minnesota. We had more snow again this morning, yuk. Hope you have a good month. Take care.
Thank you! Oooh, Swans! I'm so ready for spring! I'll have to search what a Waxwing sounds like 😊
I love the bird story. Your projects look great.
Thank you so much! Happy Stitching!
Thank you for sharing your bird story. We do have them here in Sweden. They come a short period in autumn and they come back a short period in February and eat from a crabapple tree near my house. I really love the Bohemian waxwings.
Oh that is so cool you get to see them in Sweden! I was wondering how far and wide they go!
Christine I just subscribed to your channel and have been watching your older videos and I really enjoy watching them. I too have a lot of Dimension kits and need to pull some out to do. I have almost finished Honey Bear just have backstitching to do and then I would like to get it matted and framed. I love the all seasons wreath you are doing and the seagull by RTO. I do not know how to knit but I have done a little crocheting. I do fine crocheting easier to do and need to go back and learn more on the subject. In the meantime Happy Stitching and be safe and kind. God bless
Pat
Hi Pat! Welcome to my channel and happy you decided to stick around 😊 Honey Bear is so cute, I must get back to it. Congrats on an almost finish👏👏 Happy Stitching!
What a brilliant idea for the Dimensions floss! I put mine on a floss/needle organizer but I had to write the numbers on the organizer labels.
A game changer for sure!
Awesome waxwing story! 😀 They are so beautiful. We have a similar tree in front of our house, and my neighbor (who is original to our neighborhood) tells me it’s a flowering crabapple… I grew up with crabapple trees and they all flower so I really don’t know if that’s the most accurate name. But robins love it in the spring and they are the most thrilling sight after a long winter. I stitched on my Timber Mallards by Leisure Arts while visiting with you today. Happy stitching! -Leah Noel
Interesting! I will be researching crabapple species now :) I hope you made some good progress on your Mallards!
I love a good bird book!.. Nice projects!
Thank you!!
I loved your Jan and Feb vlogs! I always enjoy them. Thank you so much for making the effort to do them. I have to say Wow about the bird sighting! Your photos are amazing too. I wonder what bird you may see in March?
Thank you! Sadly I hardly set foo outdoors in March so no fun bird sightings, bu Maybe April!!
Eeeeee! I’m so excited that your knitting! I can not wait to see you fall down this deep, deep rabbit hole. Haha 🤣
Hehehe, so far I've only mildly fallen.....but give it time and I'm sure it will get it's hooks fully in me, lol!
That wreath is so pretty!! I have requested it at 123stitch and it sells out pretty quick! It's on my wish list for when the timing is right to buy! 😊💟 So happy everything is matching up! I like to stitch down, instead of up, too!
I hope you get it when the time is right! You will really enjoy it!
Great video, I have the wreath too, may need to start that one soon. Wonderful sightings an beautiful pictures of the waxwings, thanks for sharing.
Thank you! I'm sure you will enjoy the wreath! Happy Stitching!
@@calico_whimsy thank you.
Great progress on the seasonal wreath! I really enjoy your bird segment. I spotted a pileated woodpecker this morning.
Thank you Lori! Oooo! That's awesome!! I sure hope to see one someday ❤️ Thanks for sharing!
First time watching your video....loved the stitching and the bird video. Lately we have seen eagles when we are walking in the park....so exciting. I live in Ohio.
Hello and welcome to my channel!! That is soooo exciting to see Eagles! So beautiful and majestic!!
Nice work Christine love the hair love and hugs 😘
Thank you! 💕💕
Great job on your video and chat
Thank you!!
Congrats on your knitting! I know a bit about combination knitting, never tried it. Once I moved from straight to circular needles, I never went back, they get in the way.
I've noticed the straight needles are always bumping into and getting caught up on things 😆
I love seeing the knitting! I love to knit. But I've never attempted socks! I like lace and doing afghans, hats. Great job on the fair isle.
Thank you! I think knowing how to knit will be a very useful skill! I want to make a fair Isle hat soon :)
Lovely to see your stitching. As a bird watching photographer too I can relate to your excitement! I make a habit of taking my camera on local walks with me every time after not having it with me this one time I saw a bird species I hadn't seen before (reef heron here in NZ), and had to rush quite a long way home, thankfully it was still there when i returnes but the light was fading quickly so I had missed the best opportunity. Your waxwing photos are beautiful. I can also relate to feeling a bit odd using a camera around people's houses!
Oh, Reef Heron sounds beautiful! Yeah, if my camera wasn't so big, I think I would take it out on more walks. I have missed some good photo opps, sadly
I’m loving your wreath. I think I may have to add it to my “someday” list. I have those birds in my backyard. For the longest time I called them the “airbrushed “ birds because I never knew their name and they look like they were airbrushed. They are very pretty!
Your squares are looking really good though. Keep going 🤗💕
Thank you! How lucky you get to see them in your backyard!
Hi Christine, thank you for another great video. I love your progress ❤️ and look for to stitching MB with you. As for knitting, i have put away my needles for a while after getting frustrated 😫 making a dishcloth 🤣. However, your squares are looking good.
Thanks Judith! I'm excited to work on a MB again. I just love them! Knitting can be quite frustrating for sure. I barely made it through hat last square I did trying to manage all those floats!
So pretty!!💜💜
Thank you!
Amazing progress as always, Christine! And your knitting looks amazing!!! Do you plan on joining all your learning blocks at the end to make a big blanket maybe? I'm also so looking forward to spring into mill hill! It'll be here soon!! 💗💗💗
Thanks Morgan! I have no idea if I'll do anything with those squares, but they just might end up as a blanket 😁 You never know
@@calico_whimsy they are great practice pieces anyways! Sometimes I find the enjoyment is in the creating or process anyways 😁
🦋🌻
I don't have a rare bird story, but just yesterday I was coming back from the store and there were all these birds in my yard and all over the trees and I realized that they were American Robins. Not unusual to see robins in my yard in general, but there were so many! (Which was wonderful!) I'm in NC so not sure if the waxwing phenomenon supposed to be happening here too. Probably not since I haven't heard anything about it.
OOOh, I wonder if there were some Waxwings amongst all your Robins! It's so exciting to see so many Robins at once, huh!?! This is usually the time of year you will see that. They stay together during the winter and start to disperse as breeding season competition get under way :)
I somewhat knit and you did good 😊
Thank you! Knitting will not defeat me 😁
I was so happy to see your new video I took it to bed to watch and slept all the way through it 😅 so just watched before work today! You’ve made good progress on the wreath, and I love that gull piece ❤ Well done too with the knitting, I’m not a knitter, my tension is far too tight and everything ends up half the size 😂 Waxwings are beautiful, you were lucky to come across them like that, what was the other bird shown in the beginning of the bird pics? I saw a kingfisher in our park recently, it comes in and out to the bond, lovley to see and fabulous colours! Looking forward to seeing your felt tube,Mohave a great weekend ❤
Flosstube is a great bedtime story! Oh I love Kingfishers! We also have one that frequents our pond, but have never been able to get a great picture of him. I'll have to see if I can figure out what bird card you are speaking of. It might have been one of the birds on the box cover, maybe?
@@calico_whimsy it was one of your photos Christine, just before the waxwing
@@sharonmarie66 Hmmm, all the pictures I posted are Waxwings. The first several are Cedar Waxwings, and a few of the Bohemian Waxwings. Just a different angle maybe?
@@calico_whimsy maybe, I thought there was another wee bird there too, must have been the cedar variety and I didn’t realise, I was actually awake the second viewing 😂
@@sharonmarie66 😊 well if you have a chance, go through the video again and see if you can notice the time stamp. I'd love to help out!
I was going to joke & say, "Plot twist, Christine ran home, drove to her local nursery, bought one of those trees & planted it", & then you showed the fruit from it, lol!! 😂 I'd take it to your local nursery & ask them if they could help you identify it if you want to plant one to draw in those awesome birds. I haven't put seed out since fall because of the way the price has skyrocketed, but I'm hoping to at least be able to put out the basics once the warmer weather gets here. With me not working anymore I can't buy all the seed I used to since it's so expensive now, but I'll probably still get a bag of the bargain stuff occasionally. Hope you see more of the waxwings! 😊🐦🪶
LOL! You can bet, I'm going to try to find a way to get one of those trees in my yard so I don't have to stalk my neighbor's tree! Great idea about bring the fruit sample to the nursery! Yeah, it's so pricey to feed the birds!! Yikes! That's why I'm going to try to grow more natural food sources so I can still get them in my yard, but not have to buy so much food!
@@calico_whimsy Yeah, smart idea! I would like to try that too, but my husband keeps talking about selling the house & moving in a few years, so maybe for now I'll just try to grow some flowers like thistle, etc that would bring in the finches, if I can even grow that here. 🤔
@@justchellebee2425 Worth a try! I think every little bit you can do, helps!
So I'm organizing a Dimensions stamped kit that has those new floss cards and I'm not really sure what you meant about snipping across the top? I didn't need to snip anything. I just yanked out each "strand" from where it was being held and then punched the hole right under the number. Then I'm just putting the floss back into the hole as like a normal floss drop.
That works, too! I didn't do it that way because my hole puncher couldn't punch through the foam piece. So instead of pulling the threads out, I just cut them off and punched the hole on the other side of the card behind the foam. Does that make sense?
@@calico_whimsy Oh I see! So you just snipped off the threads there entirely!
@@rebeccachapman1231 Exactly! That way I leave behind the part of the thread that sometimes has glue on it 👍
@@calico_whimsy I'm going to see if those parts with the glue end up creating a problem, so I may end up snippng those ends anyway even if I don't leave them stuck in the foam! It looks like it's easy to just peel off though, so we'll see.
I got the ides to do that with dimensions kit threads from @stitchblisscorner 5:33
