I find that if I give my kids their own rosary and I pray it with them or put a CD of a rosary and have them follow along they learn easily and it’s not really overwhelming. My 5 and 6 year old can do it easily and they look forward to leading their ten Hail Marys. I also find it makes them pay attention in Mass better because they get use to sitting quietly for longer.
so awesome - I still love rosary CDs/apps for myself! Perfect for kids
Is there a sweeter sight than a little one holding and praying the rosary. So tender that their hearts are aligned with Our Lady and learning about the Lord! It can be touch & go sometimes but sitting close to the front (I know that sounds a little crazy for very tiny kids, but for your aged kids might be ok) made Mass more accessible for them because our kids could see the altar - not just parishioners backs and the pew we were in. God bless you!
Catholic Marathon Mom yes! I always sit right up front! Otherwise they can’t see and can’t pay attention. And honestly I prefer it myself because there are less distractions
That is awesome! How beautiful to teach them the rosary!
Jesus was his first word!! Praise God, how beautiful!
so sweet!!
Thanks for this. As a new convert to Catholicism I am working on how to teach my kids about the faith. I was previously Anglican and my husband still is - some things are similar but some things are really different. Will try some of these suggestions to go deeper in the faith with my kiddos.
Marci B welcome to the Catholic faith! That’s beautiful that you want to teach your children the faith too!
Marci B welcome to our beautiful Church
Definitely starts at home and by example. My daughter is almost six and loves church and our Catholic faith. She's counting down to when Sunday school starts again in September
When I put my nephews down for rest time, I like to end with the guardian angel prayer. Angel of God. My Guardian dear. To whom his love commits me here. Ever this day, be at my side. To light and guard, to rule and guide. Amen
love that!
We say this every night during evening prayer. So beautiful!
Love that prayer! Beautiful
Is it possible to have a better first word than Jesus?! How precious. I think it is a smart observation you had to pray/teach your children early. As you said, even if they cannot vocalize their knowledge of prayers immediately, the lessons and sayings they've repeatedly heard will stick with them as they grow. Such a good reminder especially with my 11 month old!
I am thankful my son loves going to church. My son also loves helping with collections as well as making sure everyone who comes in gets a program. My favorite memories are my family traditions are with the church. Blessings of the baskets at Easter time St. Joseph's table, midnight mass. Etc. It bought my family closer.
Rose McDonough that is awesome that your son loves going to church! Such a blessing! And great traditions in the church too!
A Catholic Mom's Life my son when he hears someone curse he says "I am a Christian I don't talk like that "! I tell my son I would never change him for the world!
This video came as an answered prayer. I was concerned and thinking about how to raise my child in faith. Thank you so much for this video. My child is 1 year now. I have only started with him making the sign of the cross as a first thing in the morning as he wakes up and also before he goes to bed at night. I am a working mother so I get very less time to be with him.
Beautiful Heather. I am doing this book club with you young mums and I love all of you and pray for all of you. It gives me so much hope to see you young mums on fire for God and teaching your kids our Catholic faith, fullness of truth. I can attest to you how important it is to teach your kids our faith and the Bible at a very young age. Last Saturday my daughter who is in First Year College now, pulled out the very first picture bible I bought for her (I bought it when I was pregnant with her) and went through it so lovely, commenting on the pencil marks we hv put in it, while I was reading it to her as Evening Stories. She said, mum, these pictures are engraved in my heart. Some of the artefacts on the side column in this bible now makes so much sense to her as one of her Majors in College is Theology. See, we mums are the first teachers of faith to our kids. Keep up the good work all of you mums. God bless❤️
So happy to hear that you're doing this book club as well!! - "the pictures are engraved in my heart"- beautiful. Good job sharing your faith and making it accessible for your daughter to also know God's unfailing love :)
So awesome! And thank you for praying for us!
This is a beautiful video and comments.
Iv never in my 52yrs heard so many channels and individuals discussing praying and meditation love and kindness. It’s beautiful.
I feel so strong that humanity is turning back to a better place for the children. It’s so exciting.
I believe wholeheartedly, God, Family (marriage) and community/charity. Is the beginning of our children’s troubles today, I also believe this is the prescription for healing and repairing our family, building, street, community, village, town, city and country.
Great video! We have taken our kids to mass since the first Sunday home from the hospital! My oldest is 2 and he talks about Jesus loving him, he can pick him out in artwork he sees and in the tabernacle. I am sure this is because we have great anthology fellowship with parish members as well my husband and my talk about and act out our faith at home every day with evening prayers and grace before meals. Our faith is a big part of our lives so our children grow up in the faith and are excited about it because we are.
I absolutely love your videos Heather! Though I do not have children this is helpful for me since I have nieces and nephews and I would love to pass the faith to them. Thank you for this.
From a speech major's point of view, that is astounding that Jesus (with the difficult "s" and "j" sounds) was your baby's first word. God bless your family and thank you for this video
I love all your examples of how to pass on the faith! I want my children to practice their faith as adults too - I already worry about that, but I always think about that quote from St. Padre Pio: “Pray, hope, and don't worry. Worry is useless. God is merciful and will hear your prayer.” God bless!
Catholic Homelife beautiful quote! Love Padre Pio!
Great video topic, love the tips, thank you for posting it 👍👍
You can listen to a religious radio channel. kids will learn many many things in an indirect way. My kids learnt the divine mercy chaplet through the radio...in addition to a lot of chants and hymns and the rosary prayer...
Yes please do a video on books!
I’m having such a hard time with my catholic faith I came back about a year ago when I almost left to some Protestant Christian girls who offered bible studies for me at my college. it’s been a struggle because I feel like I’m on this journey alone my parents are trying to be practicing Catholics now but I feel like they’re just doing it for me not for themselves and I already recently got confirmed but I’m not sure I’m happy being a catholic I wanna defend my faith but I can’t I wanna continue learning about the Bible but there’s no one out there to help me I wanna learn about the faith with my family but we all have our responsibilities and only manage to go to Sunday mass /:
one point I do wanna add tho and sorry for not mentioning it and making it seem like a sappy sad story is tht your videos have helped me and really glad I found your Channel I really look up to you ❤️
Sorry for the feeling of loneliness - look to God and pray for guidance, support and companionship. You're not alone! If you go to Heather's subscribed channels, there are a bunch of catholic you tubers that you can learn from/grow with online! Also, have you heard of blessed is she? You can meet up with catholic women in your area at one of their brunches: blessedisshe.net/blessed-brunch-details/ (also summer gatherings online: blessedisshe.net/summer/?mc_cid=792e523e8a&mc_eid=086b8801e8). Does your parish have a youth group? Or another parish nearby? Or is there any other ministry you would like (music/decor/soup kitchen/service/visit elderly)? You should join/connect with other catholics!!😊
Maybe taking and apologetics class with help you to to better understand the Faith. Plus it’ll help you to defend it better. Pray on it and I’ll pray for you too.
mariela perez with you in prayer 🙏🏽
Dr Taylor Marshall’s channel and podcast might be helpful for you, also Ascension Presents on UA-cam.
Mouth Wash Typhoon has a great suggestion about Ascension Presents You Tube channel. Fr. Mike Schmitz has quick videos on hard hitting subjects and everyday questions regarding the Catholic Church.
Mariela perez - do not lose heart! The beautiful thing is you are hungry for God's love! Go and get that "spiritual bath" that we receive in confession. (You don't have to remember the Act of Contrition prayer at the end of confession - just tell the priest your situation and I know he'll walk you thru the prayer AND many churches even have the little prayer posted in the confessional.) A Catholic Church near you may have a Young Adult group - go check them out - it sounds like you'd be an inspiration to them that you're actively seeking the Lord in your faith walk! God bless you, don't stop, Blessed Mother join us as we pray for mariela - she seeks your son Jesus!
I have a 7 year old nephew who knows nothing about the Catholic faith. His dad, my older brother is a lapsed Catholic. Sadly he stopped taking his catholic faith seriously. It really concerns me. I try praying to Saint Monica to intercede on behalf of my older brother and nephew.
I’m considering converting to Catholicism and introducing the church to my kids age 5. I’m worried that they’ll be behind in their understanding and rites of passage. Baptism, 1st communion etc. any advice.?? Help appreciated
Hi We have small kids and I like your ideas. Thanks so much. God bless.
Hi there! I attend a Catholic high school but am not officially Catholic, although I want to be. I always take part in everything, like prayers every morning, special intentions, Mass and even the Rosary. How exactly do I officially become a member of the Catholic Church?
Love it!
As I live in China and religion is getting eradicated, I am looking for catechism classes online free or paid. Do you know any website with this purpose?
I am also looking for this. Can anyone help?
Love the idea of making it a point to just show them Jesus at such a young age and tell them how much He loves them. Our oldest is almost 3 and loves Him, but definitely will start incorporating that practice in our daily lives and with our 4 month old as well since we have things all around the house. Our oldest loves praying a decade of the rosary every night. We don’t always get to it, it most nights we are able and we figure we will add on mother prayer/decade every 6 months. It seems to be working well so far haha we will see how it goes once her sister gets a bit older. And love the idea for the Brother Francis cartoon! I believe they have the series on Formed.org
Hello 😀
I just found your channel. Maybe I'll stay here for longer time 😉
I am also Catholic and raised in the faith since I can remember.
My country (Poland) is mostly Catholic, every child has religion classes at school, (if someone isn't catholic, he/she can withdraw, but even atheists sometimes participate) but I think that, even in the country dominated by Catholics, it is very important to teach children about faith. Some Polish people stop going to church when they're older, it's very sad.
If there are any mistakes, please correct me 😊
Thank you. Fine examples, there.
I’d love to hear book recommendation for people considering converting
Aballer03 A great book I just got finished reading is Rome Sweet Home by Scott and Kimberly Hahn. It is about their conversion to the Catholic faith. It is a really interesting read and may answer some questions u have. There are more recommended books and CDs at the end that may help u too. I will say a prayer for u in your journey. I'm a convert and have to say that I love Catholicism. It's a truly and immeasurably beautiful faith.
Soon to be convert here, too! The book Catholicism for Dummies is amazing. It answers all of the questions I had and explains the Catholic faith in a thorough but easy to understand way.

Hi Heather, I love your channel. I just got confirmed this past Easter and my wife and I are starting our son in the catholic faith. Can you share the bibles for kids you’ve been using? I found a couple on amazon but I couldn’t know if they were good or not.
Thanks.
I AM PRAYER FOREVER 👍👍👍
Rejoice Roman catholic children of GOD The Blessed Lord is with you
Can you please do a video about The Last Supper?? I plan to get a picture for my kitchen that I saw at Hobby Lobby that was beautiful and would to be able to kinda explain to my two young girls a little bit about The Last Supper story 💙
Not sure I know that much about the last supper other then what is in the bible... I could maybe to come research:) . It is a beautiful image! Great idea having that in your kitchen!
A Catholic Mom's Life thank you soo much for replying! I’ve been following you DAILY for over a year now since my husband and I came back to the faith. I listen to you at work as well😊Your videos have helped my walk in the faith & have helped in other life issues as well, we got married by church in 2016 & will baptize our two daughters ages 2 & 4 this Saturday! . Thank you soo much for doing what you do. A true inspiration for us Catholic Mothers, wives, women! 💙
You doing great.
Pray the Holy Rosary.
Hail Mary, full of grace. The Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.
Thanks for the video, it's great and I love it! I just don't understand America (maybe I'm still new to the country), all US presidents always say: "God bless America", but if God don't exist (that's what they're teaching at colleges), then who'd bless America?
Is that Our Lady of La Vang?
Yes!
