A Catholic Mom's Life read the Bible and be taught of the Holy Spirit. Jesus Christ is the way, the truth and the light. Nobody gets to the father but through him. Mary was just a person who was blessed to conceive Jesus. She was not sinless. Calling her sinless and praying to her is blasphemy and necromancy, an abomination to the Lord. Jesus says not to use vain repititions like the heathen does, for by his much speaking he thinks he is heard. Call no one your father except your father in heaven. Jesus is the only mediator yet priest call themselves father and act as mediator for forgiveness of sins. Blasphemy. Purgatory is not real and praying for dead people is worthless. Once you are dead, judgment has already come. It is a doctrine of devils just like forbidding men to marry. Just like the whore of Babylon, the pope has many names of blasphemy such as holy father and vicar of Christ which literally means replacement of Christ. Why does the Vatican have an obelisk? It is occult sex magic. The obelisk, a phallus symbol or penis, situated in front of the dome. This is seen in Washington DC, or little Rome, as well. I have studied the occult for years. The Vatican is covered with Babylonian Egyptian symbolism. Such as the sun worship symbols. This can be seen with the Jesuits as well. The Vatican works hand and hand with the evil state of Israel (not Israel in the Bible). Read revelation 3:9. Who owns the state of Israel? Start with the satanic hexagram on there flag which they call the Star of David but it is a lie. It is a hexagram which is a heavily used occult symbol for spell casting. The Rothschilds own the federal reserve not the US government, they own Israel, and according to the Jewish encyclopedia we're given the title protectors of the papal treasury. This is why there is an Egyptian pyramid with 13 steps and the all seeing eye of lucifer on the US one dollar bill. These facts cannot be dismissed. Follow not after the traditions of men. The church isn't a building constructed by the hands of men but the body of Christ, the people, are the holy temple of God. The Catholic Church has killed more christians than any organization known to man. Actually they have killed more people than any organization known to man. More than hitler and Stalin. Look up the inquisition and crusades. The Pagan Roman Catholic Church literally makes their own laws as if it is the true church of God. You can see this through the centuries. The merchants were the great men of the earth and by thy sorceries were all nations deceived. It is by sorcery that many have been bewitched. Turn off your music from the radio, turn off the tv, get off your prescription pharmakia (Greek for sorcery) and stop living carnally. Witchcraft and mind control only work on those living in sin. Accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior of your life. This means every part of your life you submit. Be born again of water and the spirit and receive the free gift of the Holy Spirit. This means the old you is dead and you are a new creation in Jesus Christ. Whoever keeps his life shall surely loose it and whoever loses his life shall have eternal life. A friend of the world is an enemy of God. Whoever loves the world or the things in it does not have the love of the father in them. Fear of the Lord is great wisdom. Most Catholics have no fear of the Lord. Or christians. It is truly hard to find christians that are living for the Lord. This will purge out all sin and put a fire and love for the truth and studying Gods word. The gifts of the Holy Spirit are prophesying, healing, casting out devils, working miracles, faith, speaking in tongues, knowledge, wisdom, raising the dead, etc. everything that is in the book of acts you can do. I pray this does not offend you. There is a reason I know no catholics who read their bibles every day. If they did they wouldn't be Catholic. I used to be Catholic until I submitted my life to Jesus and studied his word and learned from the Holy Spirit, not from man. There is no fear of God when we blindly follow religion or doctrine of men. Seek God diligently and pray/read his word about everything that you are to do. If you are not willing to let go of your false doctrines or old lifestyle then you are not a disciple of Jesus and are not worthy of the kingdom of heaven. Seek and you shall find, ask and you shall receive, knock and it will be opened. If you want to know some true Holy Spirit filled ministries, go to cardboard box Church and theghettogospelteam on UA-cam. I personally know Tom from cardboard box Church and he is a powerful man of God. God does not give you the spirit of fear but of power, love and a sound mind. You shall know them by their fruits. In the beginning was the Word and the word was with God and the Word was God. The Word manifest in the flesh and dwelt among us. Jesus showed me many signs, miracles and dreams that I know we are living in the last days. The deception is so great. It is time to get on the ark and give your life completely to Jesus.
1. Attend mass on Sundays and Holy Days of Obligation 2. Go to confession at least once a year during Lent. 3. Receive the Eucharist at least once a year on Easter. 4. Contribute to the church financially or by engaging in a ministry. 5. Do fasting or penance.
“We can’t put Jesus in a vessel that’s full of sin..” WOW. That just made a lightning bolt go up my spine.. that right there is making me go to confession this Saturday. Thank u.
Go to confession. Your sin, whatever it is, is nothing worse than the eternal separation from God. Its why the priest would rather die than break the seal. “But i did this!” Go! “Even if i did this?” Yes GO! That fear that’s keeping you from confession and fully confessing all your mortal sins, is a satanic trick. God loves you to death. Literally, God would rather die than lose you. Infinite Mercy is beyond your sin and our true understanding. May God continue to bless you!
Pray the Holy Rosary. Hail Mary, full of grace. The Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.
Heather, I'm 18 and I can't wait to become a great catholic mom one day just like you! 🌸 You are so inspiring and a great role model to girls like me. Love your videos!
we are so lucky to have easy access to Mass. its a true gift that many (like myself) have to often taken it for granted. look at the attacks on our Church these days and the shortage of priests and how easily it could be taken away. everyone who reads this say a Rosary in thanksgiving for that wonderful gift of Mass
One thing that Catholics should be doing is studying their Bibles. I am a Catholic convert from the Presbyterian and Episcopal churches. One of the reasons there are so many Catholics leaving the Catholic church for Protestant churches is that Catholics often know obligations but they do not understand their faith in depth because they are not being taught to understand the Scriptures. The priests and religious are given such instruction, but the laity are often left with sacramentals and obligations/observances. In school and work, so much reading and knowledge is needed. But people need to put as much if not more focus on reading the Scriptures so that they can intelligently understand their faith and explain their faith to others.
Hi Heather! I just recently found your channel, and what a blessing to me it is! Thank you! I don't know how you feel about Medjugorje, but Our Lady has said that we have 5 stones to fight our Goliath with: daily Rosary, daily Bible, Mass on Sundays and Holy days, Confession, and Fasting. Pretty much what you said, right? God bless! Becky
I’ll be following you from now on I’ve been catholic all my life, my mother was and still is my greatest inspiration to love my religion I recite the rosary as much as a few times a week sometimes I recite it in Spanish yes I can say the rosary in both languages I knew all of this thank u
I listened to this before, on my way to becoming Catholic, and I'm glad I listened to it again now. Not only did you state and explain the requirements well, but you also showed why they're important and to be desired. Your videos are so helpful and upbeat. At 60 years old and a baby Catholic, I want to be like you when I grow up!
Can you do a video of you praying the rosary so we can pray it along with you? You can do different videos with the different mysteries. Just a suggestion. Your channel is amazing! Keep up the good work.
I started going meatless Friday last year for lent but decided to do it every Friday. A few times I was unable to go meatless on Friday but I made up for it by going meatless on Saturday.
Dear Catholic Mom, Your video is so inspirational and helpful. I have my own 5 things that I work on. 1. Attend daily Sunday mass. 2. Praying the daily Holy Rosary. 3. Praying the Liturgy of the Hours. 4. Attend a Holy day of obligation. 5. Pray the Chaplet of Divine Mercy. And another thing is attending the sacrament of reconciliation. Sometimes if I feel guilty of any sins that I’ve committed, I attend the sacrament of reconciliation and it’s very comforting to know that God’s love is everlasting.
Thank you for saying “for Catholics” in regards to not missing Sunday mass. I intentionally missed mass Sunday before last for the first time since being in RCIA but I will confess it once I’m baptized.
Once you are baptized all your sins will be forgiven. You only have to go to confession for the sins you commit after baptism. But be ready once you are baptized you will be tempted more than before just don't give up. I will remember you in my prayers Peace.
Yes! I am amazed that converts when baptized as adults, are completely wiped clean of ALL sin at baptism!! Just FYI: I have sponsored an RCIA candidate and we did have a lesson on confession followed by confession for everyone. I think this was done so the candidates and catechumens could have a very comfortable, private first confession with a patient priest who knows it's everyones first time. (this was before baptism)
Everyday Catholic I think we may do the same thing at the RCIA class I attend. I am glad of this grace because half jokingly, I will need the spiritual version of Tide and Ajax.🤣
Great video. I've always fasted on pure water each week for my penance and dedicated it to God, but for the past two years, I've either been pregnant or nursing (currently pregnant), so I've given up something else like social media instead. Fasting from meat seems a lot easier to keep as a routine.
For Holy Day of obligations, what if we can't go due to work? My supervisor isn't the best at granting us time off. I mean, obviously I will go if it lands on a weekend, but....what about for us Catholics who work a job where we can't just easily get time off?
Heather. I enjoyed your home Altar tour. I saw recently in Fr Michel's videos that we should all have a home Oratory as a place to pray .It should especially have an image of the Holy Family and the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary. It's a great informative site.
1. Go to Mass every Sunday and Go to Mass on Holy Day of Obligation. 2. Go to Confession. 3. Receive the Eucharist 4. Help the Church (financial, youth ministry, catechism, choir, lector, etc.) 5. Fasting and Penance
I would challenge that yes, we should be tithing 10%. It is VERY rare that we can't afford 10% and even then, when our family has stuck to the 10% guideline, we have seen miracle upon miracle in our finances. Yes, at it's core, it's a heart issue of giving what you can, but you'd be amazed to see how the Lord comes through in our obedience.
Creative2xmom as Latter-day Saints we also tithe a full 10%. I have seen so many blessings when paying tithing first. The LDS Church also has a monthly fast offering that supports self reliance and welfare services so no full tithe payers suffer with emergency bills or basic necessities during extreme financial trials
The beauty of 10% is if you have $1000 you give $100 but if you have a dollar you give a dime. If you are down to your last dollar you need to honor God and trust Him to help you, you can’t afford NOT to give the dime!
only time I don't go is when my mental illness stops me. The father of my church understands and I go see him for confession during the week, to talk to him
Thank you for sharing!! The year-round Friday penance is new to me too! :-o It was only last year I heard about that! Thank you for this video and these helpful reminders!
One important thing to note: Something that is completely accidental/unintentional is not a mortal sin (which is not exactly the same as grave matter), so a person is NOT in a state of mortal sin if they forget to attend Mass on a particular holy day of obligation completely by accident, and he or she would still be allowed to receive Communion the next time they are at Mass. There is always grace that comes from the Sacrament of Confession, though, so we are welcome to bring up the accidental missing of Mass if we would like to. If it was intentional, on the other hand, yes -we would definitely need to go to Confession for it and confess it before receiving Communion.
The USCCB declared about 50 years ago that we do not have to abstain from meat year-round on Fridays, but we could perform an alternate act of penance if we do choose. Abstaining from meat specifically is actually a Diocese by Diocese decision, so it’s worth it to ask your local Bishop if abstinence from meat on Fridays is a requirement. In my Diocese, it is not, however, Fridays are still held to be a day of penance in *some* way. ❤️ Just for clarity!
Ali-Marie Ingram she mentioned it briefly at 11:00, but good info to clarify! Thank you for sharing. I had no idea about the diocese thing.. makes me wonder what my diocese does exactly
Rachel Ann There are so many!! You could volunteer at a homeless shelter.. Pray a rosary.. Get up an hour early and spend the time in prayer or reading scripture/religious writings.. “Pay it forward” in the coffee line, or pay for someone else’s meal.. Volunteer at a pro-life help center.. Go through items in your house (maybe one drawer at a time) to donate to a local St. Vincent de Paul.. Go to adoration or a daily mass..... The list is endless! Anything that puts others in front of yourself or focuses on sacrificing something for your relationship with God ❤️
That’s so funny about no meat Friday’s. Until my parents divorced (abuse), that was the one “Catholic” thing my dad practiced. And I just grew up with spaghetti every Friday! My paternal grandparents are devout Roman Catholics (second gen. Italian immigrants) but my dad wasn’t. I just thought no meat on Fridays was normal!
During soccer season (we have 3 children who play soccer) we attend Mass on a Saturday night. We are grateful for the opportunity to still practise our faith and allow our children to play their favourite sport.
@Angela Lemos, Yes, it does. "...assist[ing] at a Mass celebrated anywhere in a Catholic rite either on the feast day itself or in the evening of the preceding day satisfies the obligation of participating in the Mass." (1983 Code of Canon Law, 1248) "On Sundays and other holy days of obligation the faithful are bound to participate in the Mass. The precept...is satisfied by assistance at a Mass which is celebrated anywhere in a Catholic rite either on the holy day or on the evening of the preceding day.” (Catechism of the Catholic Church, 2180)
The meat on Fridays I am so grateful that you mentioned because a lot of people don't know. Some may have listened to that silly revision of incorporate something else but the issue with that is that there isn't a good or such a thing as a replacement for that practice. There is nothing like fasting and abstinence and people need to learn how to do it. Yes it's a vatican 2 issue. Plus catholics actually did it on MORE than just fridays believe it or not. Also for Lent the practice has a whole lot more and vatican 2 watered it down or made it weaker. I would recommend looking into it and doing the old and more proper way. It stricter but stricter is good and that's the Catholic way.
I have was brought up to only have fish on Friday I still do. It's the only day in the week my family don't ask what is for dinner as they know it's fish Friday.
When I was a kid we ate fish every Friday (and fish sticks in school). Guess what? I was raised Protestant. We ate fish because it was fresh and cheap.
Very informative video. I understand we need to give up something on Fridays. Our family do the meatless Fridays. I was introduced to it by my husband. I did not know that we have to attend mass on days of obligation. I will have to check the days out for this year and see how I can adjust my schedules to have time. Thanks for sharing.
So canon law lists 10 holy days of obligation in addition to Sundays (Sundays are a universal holy day) but with approval of the Apostolic See, the conference of bishops of a country can suppress some of the holy days of obligation or transfer them to a Sunday. So Canada actually only has 2 extra holy days of obligation in addition to Sundays (Solemnity of Mary & Christmas). I learned that when I worked with a Canadian religious sister. I thought that was interesting! Anyway, I think you posted on your channel about attending both of those... so you didn't miss any😄
Hello! So nice to read from you. Thank you for letting me know this. It is a great information. I was thinking I might have missed them. I am yet to see a video from your channel this week. Lol
This is a great and very informative video but I would like to point out that Holy days of obligation and fasting depends on the rite. So what you said in the video pertains towards the Latin Rite . I know in the Melekite rite there are no holy days of obligation under the belief that you should neber be obliged to attend mass it should be this deep desire in your soul it should be something you never miss because you cant live without it. Also in the melekite rite abstinence is almost every wensday and every Friday throughout the year and then the lenten season is fasting from meat, dairy, red wine, olives ,etc and no food from midnight until noon from the Monday before ash wensday until Easter not just on fridays and they also do this fast two other times of the year one in the summer and one two weeks before Christmas. Just to let you know. I find it really interesting to learn about otheer rites. I think there are 24 rites of the catholic church altogether. They are all under the pope and all truly follow and believe in catholic doctrine just the way they worship is a little different
Yes! It is very interesting to learn about the other rites. My lebanese friend goes to the maronite divine liturgy (in full communion with the pope). I want to go with her at some point! I am only really familiar with the latin rite.
Bless you Heather in giving these basics for Catholics who do not know. I will use this for my eight grade class. Please do not avoid the Eucharist for accidentally forgetting a day of obligation. While this is a venial sin, it is not a mortal sin since you were not willful in your transgression. Just like not doing penance every Friday was not a mortal sin when you were ignorant of the event. Bless your heart for being so sensitive to obedience to God.
Thank you for this video. I really didn't know what Holy Days of Obligations were and that we had to attend mass. My family never did that growing up and interestingly enough, when I attended RCIA when I got older, this wasn't mentioned... or maybe I just wasn't receptive to it. I don't know but thanks for the content you post!
I couldn’t go to Mass a few weeks ago due to a snowstorm that dumped a foot of snow. Also pre Vatican 2, I believe the fasting was every Friday and Saturday of Lent. Now the church recommends doing an extended fast from Good Friday through Holy Saturday. This a great way to not only do penance, but also, if you attend the Easter Vigil Mass, to truly embrace the Paschal Mystery. Then you eat a late night treat and sleep in on Easter Sunday while avoiding the large crowds😊
Mark Tapia normally when there’s a weather issue, you are normally pardoned if you can’t go to church! i wasn’t able to do go mass last sunday because of a huge snowstorm!
Yes!! I learned that a few years ago - that catholics either need to give up meat or some other penance every Friday year round. When I was working for an order of sisters, one of the sisters told me. I thought, wow, why was I never taught this?!
A BEAUTIFUL PRAYER FROM WAY OF DIVINE LOVE THAT JESUS ABSOLUTELY LOVES US TO SAY, AND THE MEANING THAT IT HAS TO HIM WHEN WE SAY IT. THIS IS ABSOLUTELY AWESOME AND ANOTHER POWERFUL PRAY OUR LORD JESUS GAVE TO SR. JOSEFA FOR US ALL TO SAY FOR SOULS! GOD BLESS. As Josefa was saying some prayers; the Litany of the Sacred Heart and she had a little time left over to pray.. so she took the Invocations of the First Friday Novena, and when she arrived at the words; 'To Thy close union with the Heavenly Father I unite myself', Jesus suddenly appeared to her in radiant beauty. And she continues: "His raiment seem to be woven of gold, His Heart was a blazing furnace and from the wound in It came dazzling light. I renewed my vows and begged Him to pardon me for being so cold in His presence. It seemed to me though that it was not from want of love, because I love Him more than anything on Earth. . . . He listened to me and looked at me, and then said: "Do you know, Josefa, that that prayer is so pleasing to Me and is of such worth, that it far surpasses the most eloquent and sublime ones that could be offered Me. What is of greater value than My Hearts union with My Heavenly Father?. . . When souls say this prayer they penetrate, as it were, into My Heart, unite themselves to God, and this is the most supernatural act that can be done here below, for by it they begin to live a heavenly life which consists of nothing else than the perfect and intimate union of the creature with its God and Creator. " 'Continue your prayer, Josefa, for by it you adore, repair, merit and love. Yes, go on with that prayer, and I will continue the work of love.' " "Then she said I committed all my distresses to His Heart," she wrote, "and He replied: 'Be not disquieted. . . it is I Myself who am directing everything.' " ANOTHER PRAY SO POWERFUL, OUR LORD GAVE TO HER FOR US ALL TO SAY: "O God most holy and just . . . Father of all clemency and of infinite goodness. Thou who didst create man out of love and through love has made him heir to eternal blessings; if he has sinned against Thee through frailty and if he deserves chastisement, accept the merits of Thy Son who offers Himself to Thee as a Victim of expiation. By those divine merits, forgive sinful men, and deign to reinstate them as heirs of Heaven. O My Father, pity and mercy for souls."
I grew up in polar opposites- Greek Orthodox on one side and Baptist’s on the other side. You are fascinating to me, because you’re the perfect mesh of the two. I’ve never achieved the perfect mesh.
Such a great video. I've been Catholic my entire life and I learned something from this video. I also didn't know that Catholic's should not be eating meat on Fridays. Thank you for sharing.
Major moments during the history of our Salvation laid the groundwork for the Catholic Faith. The Jews exiting Egypt for the Promised land was a big rehearsal for the Eucharist. The whole Passover Ritual, the Manna in the dessert, speak so much of the Eucharist. However some of the things which the Bible doesn't cover specifically came to light as the Jews practised for the Eucharist 1500 times (each year from the Exodus until the Last Supper). The Passover as a Memorial was more than a 'remembering'; but the Jews understood memorial to mean they were mystically present at the original Exodus; as if they were really there. It was also said by the Rabbis that for one to purposely miss celebrating the Passover without just cause; was to remove oneself from Salvation (ie. mortal sin). The Manna in the morning and the quail in the evening meant that on their sojourn from Egypt (sin) through the desert (life which had to be endured until heaven); they were sustained and strengthened on this journey by 'bread' and 'flesh' from Heaven (no eucharistic theme there hey!!??). From this we Catholics have come to understand that we are called to the New Passover every Sunday, to be mystically joined with the first Passover Sacrifice of Calvary; which if we miss without just cause will lose our Salvation; so we can receive the 'bread and flesh from heaven' that will sustain us and give us life unto the Promised Land. Isn't our God wonderful and a patient teacher/Father.
Wednesday and Friday is a fast with just bread and water. It is best to avoid white bread since it leads to headaches so the Nuns say and a cup of tea is ok as long as it is not loads. This is every week. Then there are the novenas that can be in multiples of 9 days with eating normally on the 10 day then going back to the fasting. Over long periods of time one small meal a day is ok as long as it is small like a light lunch. Praying is meant to take the place of the meal or anything else that is being sacrificed. I got this from a Nun; obviously, i was real taken by her and what she had to say. Peace be with you. :-)
Confession should be when we are are in sin... which is more often than we think. I go every other week unless I know I need to confess something. Thank you for being Catholic. I love our faith. I prefer that Latin Mass it's a far better way to worship our Lord...
Hi again, I forgot to mention one thing that I've learned about fasting is that a true fast is not really about food. A true fast is more about fasting or abstaining from all sin and penance.
That's a hard thing for me. I'm fasting but I do fast on Sunday. I'm age 60 eiyet and I take medication. I have to eat something for my medication. I only eat just enough. Turn off for my medication. But I do fast force before Sunday. Math an hour before
Hi Heather, I have a question. You said that when you guys missed that holy day because you forgot, you didn't recieve the Eucharist until you went to confession, but since you forgot and didn't intentonally skip the holy day, wasn't it just a venial sin and not grave sin?
I don't go to church on Sunday. I go on Saturday afternoon and I have received communion not know it was a sin. I'm blown away by what you just said about it being a sin. Knowing that I received communion on Saturday. Am I a sinner? What do I do know?
Sorry I should have clarified but Saturday evening mass is considered a Sunday mass in the Catholic faith, they are the same thing. I hope that makes sense.
Have you had your first confession or gone to confession before? You could ask the priest at your local Catholic church if they would help you:). So excited for you!
I go to confession every week, they are mainly venial sins that I confess. But when I have a mortal sin, I go right away. I was going more often but I think priests are get bored of me, at least they act like they are. We are a small community here as Catholics and we are asking the priests personally to do our confessions. It makes me uncomfortable, I wish we could just go and confess anonimously. Sorry for my bad English btw. God bless you and your family.
Thank You! I am from Poland and I love Mother Mary and God. If You want You can lisen to Piotr Glas-great father for Poland, he has videos in English. Thank You
Hey Heather, I have a question for you about Chapel Veils - do you wear one? It looks like some people do and some people don't. What's your view on it? Thanks :)
Offering up my penance today: trying to listen to this video while getting the constant interrupting ads (some of them nothing to do with the topic and even trying to convince me to become a yoga instructor lol No thanks!)
It's very disappointing that the church doesn't talk about abstinence on Friday anymore. I was shocked to discover that abstinence from meat on Friday was still a thing as haven't heard the church talk about it ever. I now abstain from meat every Friday.
I just want to point out that you are supposed to tithe 10%. That is accurate. But 5% is supposed to go to the Church and the other 5% can go to good causes. Like we give to monasterys and convents. And I also like to give to St. Labre Indian school. So the 10% is accurate to tithe but at least 5% needs to go to the Church. Also, it might not be Vatican II directly but during that time is when the meatless fridays became non-existent. My mom would sometimes have meatless meals on Friday but I dont think it was related. I grew up Catholic as well and I only found out in recent years. Something else you may look into is the fact that around the same time the meatless fridays came about is the same time the rosary was weakened. A rosary is actually made up of all 3 mysteries of the rosary (glorious, sorrowful and joyful) and you'd have to pray 3 whole rosaries to actually pray a 'rosary.' I also only recently found out about that too. Its shocking to see how far we've gone down and how weak our lives have become. We really need to step it up. I'll be first to say I'm to blame for not being a good Catholic. Lord help us.
If you did not know about abstaining from meat and weren’t making another penitential action, then no. But since you know now and choose to eat meat and don’t substitute a penitential action, confession is necessary. God bless you.
Hope you enjoyed! LETS CONNECT!

In the beginning was the Word and the word was with God and the Word was God. The Word manifest in the flesh and dwelt among us. Jesus showed me many signs, miracles and dreams that I know we are living in the last days. The deception is so great. It is time to get on the ark and give your life completely to Jesus.
what a blessing you are with these videos
0:30 I do not have a chain for my miraculous pendant 1:15
1. Attend mass on Sundays and Holy Days of Obligation
2. Go to confession at least once a year during Lent.
3. Receive the Eucharist at least once a year on Easter.
4. Contribute to the church financially or by engaging in a ministry.
5. Do fasting or penance.
Thank you !!
Clear and concise , direct to The Point !!
It's worth noting that Saturday night liturgy fulfils your Sunday obligation. So even if you're not a 'morning person' you don't have an excuse 😉
I want to be a catholic and My parents are Muslims and I need to wait until I move out untill I can practice my faith freely please pray for me
God bless you :)
🙏Praying for you, God bless you ♥️
praying
Praying for you
May the Holy Spirit sustain you and comfort you during this challenging time and may He strengthen you in your faith. 🙏🏽
Beautifully said. Confession is such a beautiful gift!!!
Well said, Marcus, well said. =)
=) god bless you!
So powerful 🧡💛💚💙💜
Pray the Holy Rosary.
Hail Mary, full of grace. The Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.
amen 🙏🏿
Amen 🙏🏾
Heather, I'm 18 and I can't wait to become a great catholic mom one day just like you! 🌸 You are so inspiring and a great role model to girls like me. Love your videos!
Confession is such a comforting experience too.
Yes.
we are so lucky to have easy access to Mass. its a true gift that many (like myself) have to often taken it for granted. look at the attacks on our Church these days and the shortage of priests and how easily it could be taken away. everyone who reads this say a Rosary in thanksgiving for that wonderful gift of Mass
Anisa I think she did a video that
I agree with Anisa! I liked your Rosary explanation video, but I love your voice and I'd love to pray the Rosary with you!
I started going meatless Friday last year for lent but decided to do it every Friday. A few times I was unable to go meatless on Friday but I made up for it by going meatless on Saturday.
Marci HF so great! We do meatless Friday’s too:)
Dear Catholic Mom,
Your video is so inspirational and helpful.
Nice! That is a great list! I love it!
Upendo me wow thank you for telling me this and thank you for praying for me.
I love your enthusiasm for your faith.
3. Receive the Eucharist
4. Help the Church (financial, youth ministry, catechism, choir, lector, etc.)
5. Fasting and Penance
Thank you for sharing! I'm a Protestant but am writing an article for Catholics, and needed to understand this!
You inspire to believe in true holiness and to be truly holy ❤
Daughter, your preaching is awesome. Aspiring pray for our family. You look like my daughter really
SO true! God loves a generous giver:)
Hello. I am so happy to hear that you are a mom that shares about our faith.
only time I don't go is when my mental illness stops me.
Same with mine in Charlotte. Hope your day is blessed
Ali-Marie Ingram she mentioned it briefly at 11:00, but good info to clarify! Thank you for sharing. I had no idea about the diocese thing.. makes me wonder what my diocese does exactly
I'm a new Catholic. What are some other examples of alternate acts of penance?
@@rachela.5311 Praying the rosary :)
Wow thank you for sharing! I didn’t know about doing penance every Friday. Our family will start that.❤
That’s so funny about no meat Friday’s.
My family puts meat in the spaghetti haha
This video was super helpful! Totally will start looking for ways to do penance every Friday. Love that you’re so passionately catholic!
Vigil mass on Saturdays counts as Sunday mass.
During soccer season (we have 3 children who play soccer) we attend Mass on a Saturday night. We are grateful for the opportunity to still practise our faith and allow our children to play their favourite sport.
I was just about to ask this!
it doesn't
@Angela Lemos,
Yes, it does.
"...assist[ing] at a Mass celebrated anywhere in a Catholic rite either on the feast day itself or in the evening of the preceding day satisfies the obligation of participating in the Mass." (1983 Code of Canon Law, 1248)
"On Sundays and other holy days of obligation the faithful are bound to participate in the Mass. The precept...is satisfied by assistance at a Mass which is celebrated anywhere in a Catholic rite either on the holy day or on the evening of the preceding day.” (Catechism of the Catholic Church, 2180)
I have not been to my Church since COVID.
I watch everyday on Catholic Faith Network
....Rosary and Mass
When we are blessed to obtain another car I can't wait to go back to daily mass. It makes me feel so good going thru my days.
Thank you for sharing your story, Love it
I'm returning to Mass but I go on Saturday and sometimes on Sundays but mostly on Saturdays.
Depending on cultures. We had fish sometimes but usually beans.
Lol
ohhh lol! I just posted a fun travel video! I saw locks (like the panama canal) for the first time and loved it!
I saw it and loved it!
Thank you for your videos
@MELA that's awesome!
My husband and I give up meat every Friday's throughout the year.
GOD BLESS.
As Josefa was saying some prayers; the Litany of the Sacred Heart and she had a little time left over to pray.. so she took the Invocations of the First Friday Novena, and when she arrived at the words;
'To Thy close union with the Heavenly Father I unite myself', Jesus suddenly appeared to her in radiant beauty.
And she continues: "His raiment seem to be woven of gold, His Heart was a blazing furnace and from the wound in It came dazzling light. I renewed my vows and begged Him to pardon me for being so cold in His presence. It seemed to me though that it was not from want of love, because I love Him more than anything on Earth. . . . He listened to me and looked at me, and then said:
"Do you know, Josefa, that that prayer is so pleasing to Me and is of such worth, that it far surpasses the most eloquent and sublime ones that could be offered Me.
Yes, go on with that prayer, and I will continue the work of love.' "
"Then she said I committed all my distresses to His Heart," she wrote, "and He replied: 'Be not disquieted. . . it is I Myself who am directing everything.' "
ANOTHER PRAY SO POWERFUL, OUR LORD GAVE TO HER FOR US ALL TO SAY:
"O God most holy and just . .
Thank you !!
God Bless you !!
I can go to confessions because from COVID-19 but watch live mass on your parish Facebook page and the holy hour on a Wednesday night ✝️✝️
I grew up in polar opposites- Greek Orthodox on one side and Baptist’s on the other side. You are fascinating to me, because you’re the perfect mesh of the two. I’ve never achieved the perfect mesh.
This is Catholicism :D
You are such an inspiration to us all. I love watching your videos. God bless you and your family.
Heather, which Blessed Virgin Lady is the one behind you with the blue hat and robe?? Haven’t seen that one before!
I stop fasting with only for Sunday and lent.I did not know it was for a whole year on friday
Thank you so much for doing this video. I loved it.
I am so glad you enjoyed this video!
Thank you for making this video!
Great video! It is so important for us to do these things!
In Chile is 1% for the church and if you can give more, then is up to you
So great! Thanks so much, keep doing these great, positive, practical videos! Prayers from Finland
Love the statue of Our Lady of Vietnam is beautiful
Confession should be when we are are in sin... which is more often than we think. I go every other week unless I know I need to confess something.
Thank you for being Catholic. I love our faith. I prefer that Latin Mass it's a far better way to worship our Lord...
Thank you for your wonderful video.😊
Good Catholics I love u. Greetings from India God bless u.
India!!! Hello and God bless India
Hi again, I forgot to mention one thing that I've learned about fasting is that a true fast is not really about food. A true fast is more about fasting or abstaining from all sin and penance.
I watch daily TV mass since Covid
I didn't even know it was meatless Fridays on lent! I am new to the church though.
Good bless sister . remind me nature
of Catholic
That's a hard thing for me. I'm fasting but I do fast on Sunday. I'm age 60 eiyet and I take medication. I have to eat something for my medication. I only eat just enough. Turn off for my medication. But I do fast force before Sunday. Math an hour before
We cannot go church due to COVID-19. I only able to attend online three times and one at the church
Mother Mary pray for us. 🌎
Hi Heather, I have a question. You said that when you guys missed that holy day because you forgot, you didn't recieve the Eucharist until you went to confession, but since you forgot and didn't intentonally skip the holy day, wasn't it just a venial sin and not grave sin?
We just wanted to be safe and not offend God. But you are right from what I understand if you forget then it is not a moral sin.
Okay, Thanks! :)
In Poland we have each Fariday meatless
Beautiful video 🌷
I dint go for confessions since the corona virus started before and after.....
Video was wonderful!! Thks
Well I in/out of covid patient rooms....I probably have several variants of the virus by now. What do u do with someone like me?
I’m new to this and I’m just a kid and I want to be closer to god and turn my life around and I wanna know how to confess?
Have you had your first confession or gone to confession before? You could ask the priest at your local Catholic church if they would help you:). So excited for you!
A Catholic Mom's Life Oh I thought u could pray and confess to god and my local Catholic Church is closed bc of corona
Oh! Our Lady of Lavang! Vietnam is my country 😍
Gia Kiệt Khưu so awesome!
Thank You
Pozdrawiam serdecznie 😊
awesome video
Hey Heather, I have a question for you about Chapel Veils - do you wear one? It looks like some people do and some people don't. What's your view on it? Thanks :)
I’ve started a chapel veil for the past few months & will continue. Hope other women will start doing it, too.
Offering up my penance today: trying to listen to this video while getting the constant interrupting ads (some of them nothing to do with the topic and even trying to convince me to become a yoga instructor lol No thanks!)
Suggestion for kid friendly way of the cross pls.
We used to have meatless Friday's at my Catholic School.
Libby Grable oh nice!
Did you ever do a video on the importance And value of of fasting?
It's very disappointing that the church doesn't talk about abstinence on Friday anymore. I was shocked to discover that abstinence from meat on Friday was still a thing as haven't heard the church talk about it ever. I now abstain from meat every Friday.
This video was made before covid
Even. I go to confession even for the smallest Sims
Heather can u make a vlogg on how to do confession...like the process ...thanx dear
unfiltered life i did do one Its in this description box🥰
Didn't know about fasting from meat on Fridays. Do I need to go to confession before receiving the Eucharist?
If you have committed a mortal sin, yes or if you haven't gone in a long time.
If you did not know about abstaining from meat and weren’t making another penitential action, then no. But since you know now and choose to eat meat and don’t substitute a penitential action, confession is necessary. God bless you.
I help out the church and giving bump money for our new church that they are going to be buildi Bilding
Did you ever do a video on what Penance meansAnd why it’s important?
