I had considered this but you've convinced me to just get the sbr and not have to deal with tinkering. Appreciate you blazing the trail on all this because you're currently one of the very few with data points out there.
I have the 16" version and it's way over gassed when running suppressed...only has 2 settings, are there any aftermarket gas plugs with more settings or a stiffer recoil spring for this platform yet? Bolt is running so fast I'm getting failure to feeds on the last few rounds of both Lancer and Magpul mags
So now when you add a can it’s super over gassed? It looks like it’s ejecting at 1-2 without a can. I can’t imagine what it would be like with a can or the higher power ammo
@@ModernRifleman so cut mine down to 13.9 as well (btw that is a seriously heavy profile barrel) opened the port on the barrel to .076 and on the regulator opened "suppressed" to .066 and "normal" to .070. basically created a "high" and "low". on .066 had a couple failure to resets early but then it ran really smooth. >100 rounds. only one session so will see about how it goes with another session. taking that 2" off really helps the balance of the gun

Does cutting the barrel down reduce the gas, my 556 16 inch spear is really over gassed ejecting like 1:30

can you give the specific mod? 13.9 barrel chop and you opened up the port on the barrel or the ports on the valve?
