Progress so far: So it's been 9 months since I've left this comment. I haven't been extremely consistent. But for the most part, I have performed this meditation at least 4-5 times a week. However, I do try to do it everyday. Some days, I can focus on the chakras well (especially the spiritual eye, heart, and the throat chakra), but some days I don't feel them as prominently. I assume that I would have to practice this everyday and stay sober in order to feel the chakras prominently. There's a lot of room for improvement. Now the juicy part, I have built some great inner body awareness because of this meditation. At first, I would find it very hard to feel any of the chakras. But these days, I can slightly feel most of them on command. Focusing on my third eye gives me the strongest sensation out of all the chakras. I'm glad that I started this form of meditation and I would recommend it to everybody.

Thank you for this meditation offering. I’ve done it a few times now and feel centered and refreshed afterwards. Question, what do you recommend I do with my arms and legs? Special sitting position or mudra?
Yogananda always taught westerners to just sit in a chair, as it is too distracting and uncomfortable to sit cross legged if one didnt grow up doing that. If one can sit in a proper asana, thats great, but a chair is just fine.
Yes Srf was started by Yogananda but please do not think thats the only way you can learn the kriya yoga of Lahiri Mahashaya. Yogananda taught Roy Eugene Davis and later set him on a different path, and he started his own group under Yogananda's direction called Center for Spiritual Awareness. Thats who I learned from. SRF is great but it is true that they diluted a lot of Yoganandas teachings, and its true that he modified them for different disciples. So it is not the only channel of true Kriya yoga. There are many other branches of it in India still thriving that have nothing to do with SRF, and here are two links to wonderful groups that may be closer to you or others around the world. www.kriya.org/ csa-davis.org/sites/
@@guardian7keys Dont worry about little details like that, just dive into the practice, you wont know unless you put 6 months-1 year into it either way
@@EyeOfTheVeda I already put in 3 years + practice, I would know like to know who has the closest teaching to LM and MB if such information exists. Teaching In my opinion should always remain the same regardless of location. PY teaching is diluted in the west is something I am constantly hearing. Appreciate if you know or can help
Hmm, no that is not normal. If you have a Guru, you will want to ask them. But I will assume you do not and just give some general advice that might help this too. If you feel pain like that just stop. Unless it is just very mild and passing. Do you think you may be straining too hard? Sometimes that is the case. You may want to be gentler about it? Also, we don't want to practice meditation until we are relatively healthy in the body, psychologically healthy, and not super imbalanced... So it may be that you may just have some toxins in the body and need to cleanse the nadis before practicing? You may want to do some yogasana, stretch more and get into a routine for detoxification, and then try the meditation again when you are feeling more vitalized. But if you feel pain again just stop and consult with a Guru or just work on purification of the body first for awhile. Does that make sense?
@@christopherruddick2469 Of course I dont know your experience, but in mine, those places tend to attract a lot of kooky followers who dont have anything to do with their lives except just hang out at a place like that... at least this was my experience at his home in the west, in Myrtle Beach. As far as the teacher is concerned I think Meher Baba is flawless. But his followers are some of the craziest and most wounded people on the planet. He is like a dustbin for all of the most difficult sanskaras, so it makes sense that he attracts those who cant be healed any other way and just want to surrender to God. The person that introduced me to Baba was a crazy bhakta for sure. As a result, I dont always enjoy being around a lot of his followers, it just depends. If I go to the retreats I just spend time by myself and avoid socializing. But they say you cant judge the teacher by his followers, only by his own actions and undestanding.
I was taught this technique by Roy Eugene Davis, a direct disciple of Yogananda. This technique can be taught before the full Kriya initiation and if you click the link I shared you can listen to an audio clip of him teaching it to the public as well. But still you should follow the normal principles of lifestyle and routine appropriate to your constitution and temperament just like in all yogic traditions.

@@EyeOfTheVeda thank you. but how do we know which method is closer to lahiri mahasya and babaji's teaching?
@@guardian7keys Dont worry about little details like that, just dive into the practice, you wont know unless you put 6 months-1 year into it either way
(In other words, whomever is closest to me geographically would be what I would choose)
Is it normal to feel pain at the third eye spot while doing this??
Thanks buddy
@@EyeOfTheVeda do you think anyone would be watching your UA-cam videos for “truth” if they had an actual guru???
@@rachelw821 yes, because people can and definitely DO appreciate help from multiple different sources. I hope you're okay :)
I notice a photo of Avatar Meher Baba in the middle of the shelf.
Good eye, Meher Baba stole my heart long ago...Jai Baba
I cant meditate , for 10 seconds .plz guide me . Tq

Today is the new Moon in Capricorn. January 11, 2024 at 6:57 AM EST Hmm. Interesting and thank you.
Good
So is it advisable to do this technique (lum,vum..) what you are teaching without any teacher? Is it safe? Kindly advise.
