- I thought I would be tired of trains by the end of this, but it was the opposite. Turns out I really needed this time to do nothing and recharge- It was a great journey for me.

YES!! I LOVE the longer trip videos because of the scenery and longer experiences with a different vibe and a cross country trip on a train is on my bucket list. So thanks for your perspective and expertise! Love your videos so much and always look forward to when you upload to see what you got into this time, haha. Be safe and I look forward to seeing your next adventure! 🎉
Thanks, I'm 6'3" too, with more of an offensive lineman's build. I'll be taking my first Amtrak sojourn next month. From St. Paul a coach seat on the Empire Builder, as it's during the day. From Chicago to New Orleans I'm on the City of New Orleans, and I have a Roomette. I fly back home to MSP on a Delta flight ✈️.
Very nice. We see lot of utubers travelling through trains.. Everyone has own view. It's humanity who are engulf on this sand and experiencing different story!
I lived in Logan from 1972-1985. Went to USU for years! Gorgeous place, outstanding camping. Great video, thanks!
Thanks for watching!
It is always great joy to watch your video. You are such a humble and amicable guy.
Cool video man. Your positivity you carried throughout the trip was worth mentioning. Thank you for giving me a way to see everything through positive eyes. Made the journey you brought me on memorable. Thanks
Sorry I definitely would have reported that employee to supervisor or definitely called Amtrak. They should NOT be permitted to yell at a passenger who did nothing wrong. If it were for employees then post a sign on the table where everyone can see it. No excuse for that kind of behavior and then he said you disrespected him? WTF 😳😡
Yeah it was truly bizarre. I did actually report him because his behavior was unacceptable. I never heard back from Amtrak though
Like cmon now that’s crazy
@@CountingCountries You messed with the CONDUCTOR'S paperwork, and apparently his coffee cup... I don't know how the British treat their train conductors, but in America the conductor is the king or queen onboard the train. The boss! With the authority to boot you off the train in the middle of nowhere... Never, ever move anyone's stuff in America, no one likes their stuff being shifted. NO ONE!!! The truth is when sitting in the diner the procedure is to wait for the waiter to sit you at a table. No wonder the CONDUCTOR lost his cool, nitwit... Your people skills are ZERO POINT SHIT...
I mean, he did move his stuff
Ethnic activities
That was lots of fun thank you brother😅❤
Great Video 👍 Funny and informative, well done !
Very professionally done review. Subscribed.
This was so fun to watch Jordan! I'm leaving for my turn (opposite direction) next week! It was great to get insight into what I can expect on board! Will be sure to order that salmon and choc cake ;)
Really enjoyed your journey w Amtrak, great style, presentation. Loved the music at intervals...
I am Canadian and I got to admit that I am spoiled by VIA Rail... The Canadian that travels from Toronto Ontario to Vancouver B.C. seems like a totally different league of train compared to Amtrak... From the meal service where the menu changes on a daily basis to the dome cars/observation cars.. Awesome showers, bar car, and train staff that are the best... Still Amtrak does look like an interesting adventure... and it's on my bucket list...
Unfortunately VIA does not run the Canadian with a daily service, it is more like a land cruise service at a much higher fare price... Once a week or twice a week service isn't DAILY. VIA requires THREE train sets running the Canadian, Amtrak requires SIX train sets just for the Empire Builder, SIX more for the California Zephyr, SIX more for the Southwest Chief, and THREE train sets for the trice weekly Sunset Limited, although there is talk the Sunset Limited will return to a daily service requiring THREE more train sets. Amtrak requires many, many more train sets to run daily services...
Traditional Dining needs to come back to all overnight routes.
As always dude, your videos are awesome.
I would love to see you do The Ghan in Australia. The history of the train alone is just a phenomenal subject to research. I know you don't drink, but even the winery region is worth the views alone, let alone the barren outback stretches.
It is so high on my list! You are making me really want to do it 😁
What an underrated video, keep it up!
좋은 영상이예요. 좋아요. 제가 미국에 간다면 하고 싶은 것들을 영상으로 보게되서 기쁩니다. ^^ 감사합니다. Thank you. ^^
The stinky feet announcement had me cracking up.
It was seriously so funny
Try the zephyr during winter in the Rockies! It is amazing. The steak has always been great. We took the train around the country last year and again in March 2025 we are doing it again.
Great Video. Loved it!
Ah yes, THAT table. The crew have always used that one on every trip I’ve ever taken, also noticed that the first table near the door is sometimes used by the conductor. Usually they are noticeable as being used by the crew, when in doubt I think it’s best to ask. I’ve been scolded by crew before as well. Most veteran crews will post the little blue sign as a crew space
That Chocolate Mousse Cake looked AMAZING for a train ride!
Still dreaming about it
I always take Amtrak and currently planning a NYC to Seattle trip
Rashid is awesome. Glad you got him!
This was fantastic. I am planning on doing a long trip that will go from Chicago to Seattle to LA to San Antonio to Chicago.
We did the eastbound Zephyr in May as part of a longer rail tour of the US and loved it. Your difficulty walking through the moving train brought back memories - these striped poles between the cars aren't for decoration!
Welcome to Lavasa Romantic Marriage Anniversary Celebration City in World
As a Chicagoan i enjoyed this video!
🎉Glad you take your working out so serious. Saw a video where they used luggage like a kettle bell. Dips off the luggage racks and push ups anywhere you can. Bonus was the stair hops, if you have a 2 story. You can be creative, kill a little time and burn off a few calories.
Hello, I enjoying watching your trip. actually im thinking to give it a try but it turns out way expensive from DC to CA instead of taking plane. Is that okay for you to disclose how much you booked or there is a way to book in specific season.?
Very nice video ❤ I am empressed and enjoying 😊🇮🇳🙏
Those Amtrak employees are topnotch.
Super great video. Thanks!
Loed your video, putting on my solo travel list.
You guys should come back to Peru, ride the Andean Explorer (Cuzco-Puno-Arequipa route), and see Arequipa. Your videos are awesome.
FASCINATING trip video!
If you ever get the chance come to Australia and try the Indian Pacific, which goes from Sydney to Perth. A distance of 4352 kilometres. Or the Ghan that travels from Adelaide to Darwin a distance of 2979 kilometres. I enjoyed watching your video.
What a great way to travel across America. The scenery is amazing especially through the Rockies. This is definitely something my wife and I would love to do this one day, if we can get to America.
It’s a really good adventure ❤
Excellent video.
Am the same on trying to fit in at least a small workout when I travel by train, even some yoga on the chair.. On a plane it is impossible. Th seemed excellent!!e desserts looked excellent!!😄
السعادة القسم الاكبر منها تعمله الحكومات واصحاب القرار مع عدالة العمل والحقوق والواجبات يسعد بها كثيرا الاحرار والمثقفون .. ؟؟؟؟
Hi u can see more beautiful train experience in Sri Lanka. There are old trains. 3 ways. Totally different nature.
1. Colombo to Matara - Can covered beautiful ocean (one day trip)
2. Colombo to Badulla - Can covered beautiful mountains, waterfalls (one day trip)
3. Colombo to Jafna train - very different nature with paddy field
Please come to Sri Lanka….
I enjoyed your video. The only con is that you didn't finish it off with still traveling on the train to California.
I enjoy watching your videos!!
That sleeper car attendant when you boarded in Chicago was the one I had a few weeks ago on the zephyr from Sacramento to Chicago. I forget the guys name.
I plan on taking the southwest chief soon. I took it from L.A. to Chicago back in 1989. But it was all in coach. Wife and I plan to take it round trip. won't be in coach this time.
Definitely book a room! Makes the time go by fast
Very informative. Thanks
Great video thank you. Can’t wait to try it.
good job.. i loved watching your video, I'm going to book the same ride next year 2025
I enjoy this video. . You should look d have report the behaviour of that employee. You paid money. You should be respected. Enjoy your time on thevtrain.
Enjoyable. Have done same several times. What other countries: The Canadian across Canada. Will be one of your most memorable experiences! I did it just before COVID hit. Thanks
You had a Viewliner II roomette for the NYC-Chicago run. (The Viewliner I roomettes also have a toilet in the compartment.)
nice helpful video. Were all the meals included on the trip reguardless of where you were seated?
Like, comment, subscribe, and share this video to support the Channel 👏🏾👏🏾
Cool video! So what happend to your stuff when you missed the train in Reno? Hopefully it was waiting for you in SF somewhere...
I want to do this trip in the next few years. I did the Canadian about 7 years ago and didn't want it to finish! Recommend!
Oh wow I really want to do the Canadian as well I have heard such great things!
Not to sound like one of those nit-picky know-it-alls, but I believe the Moffat Tunnel is the third longest train tunnel in the US. The longest and second longest are the Cascade Tunnel and Flathead Tunnel, respectively, both on the Empire Builder. The Moffat is indeed the highest in the US though. Happy travels, love the video!!! :-)
That is right, I have been both of them.
Can’t remember if I saw you at Heathrow or Copenhagen 26-27th of July but it was mad cool to see you nonetheless
I love the mentality that if I can’t cross it by train. Fine I’ll do it myself. Very Sam from lord of the rings.
lovely content video love from India🇮🇳 🤗
I did travel from NY to Montreal it was fun ! Train is the best way to travel if you like to see the country ! I love train! You can save water and have shower together with your neighbour 😂😂😂
Great Video Dude! Random question, I dig the necklace and the whole half matte half shiny aspect? Where'd you get it?? Thanks!
Wasn’t Radar from Mash from Ottumwa, IA?
How much you pay for Chicago to California?
Oh damn, you missed Donner Pass by missing that last train. Its the area that would compete the most with EU countries you mentioned. The Sierra Nevadas are freakin gorgeous.
MANY THANKS for TAKING US A LONG!
Amazon video, I’m gonna make this journey soon. I like the necklace and bracelets you’re wearing. Would you mind sharing the link on how to purchase them. Thanks man.😊
Via Rail from Vancouver to Toronto, or vice versa! Then Via Rail from Winnipeg to Churchill !! See some polar bears 💪
Hi. I am new. Love the station. Looks amazing.
Thats the first time I ever heard a cashier say you’re welcome when they usually say thank you in nyc
Can’t wait to see you explore india 🇮🇳 on train some ultra luxury trains are available to visit India !
Love your video and the music. Beautiful trip. Oh, do you fly back?
Great video. You should try VIA from Toronto to Vancouver.
You should try Indian trains. They are not known for being punctual but I can tell you by my experience the beauty and diversity of the landscape will remain with you throughout your life, and of course then there are people who will make the journey more interesting.
It’s definitely high on my list. I want to ride the Maharajas express!
@11:50 The Canadian DEFINITELY does not run through the USA. It goes north around the Great Lakes across the provinces. You MUST give it a try, specifically from Toronto to Vancouver. Your route showed The Empire Builder which runs from Chicago over to Washington/Oregon.
Should come to New Zealand and do the trains here ❤
Keep on bro!❤
Thanks Ali!! Appreciate the support ❤️
Hi how expensive is this trip please?
He most definitely never intended to catch the last train to California 😆
great job
You asked which countries to travel through next by train. Canada, of course, Australia's Indian Pacific, China to Urumqi or even Lhasa (if they'll let you in), the Orient Express from Venice to London, the Pride of Africa in South Africa and, of course, the Trans-Siberian Railway -- maybe Beijing to Moscow. I think you can even go from Moscow to Paris (change in Berlin).
Great video. How much $ $. does this cost you ? ... I would love to do it someday. I say Albany, All bany .. not sure if this is how you say it , LOL.
Great!
😊
0:23 new stuff just fascinates me
May I ask how much did the whole trip cost?
could you please share what microphone system you use..
Your videos are awesome and the audio quality is great
He’s using a RODE Wireless Go (I have the same mic so recognise it).
@@FromtheWindowSeat THANK YOU
Magnolia Bakery banana pudding is da bomb
You could come back to canada and do the Jasper to Prince Rupert train then a ferry back to vancouver, or Winnipeg to Churchill train to see polar bears. The Alaska train looks like fun. Go to Stettler, Alberta and take your wife and son on a historic steam train complete with train robbers on horse back and a home cooked meal - a full day and a lot of fun.
Sounds amazing!!
A good friend of mine lives in Naperville. Small world.
Very small world 😅
Concider comming to South Africa to ride on Rovos Rail to varios destinations in Africa.
First, As I Have Said Before Your Channel Is Fabulous. I Have Been Lucky Enough To Been On All Of The Amtrak And Via Rail Long Distant Trains. I Love Trains, Sadly Some Of The Staff With Amtrak Can Be Very Rude. And The USA Government Signs There Checks.🙄 Happy Travels!!
Thank you so much! Yes there were some very friendly employees and others.. not as much. I still enjoyed my ride however
How was the WiFi in the train trip?
Your videos are suoer nice.
How much would all this cost please ?
It’s not another country, yet you should try the Empire Builder from Chicago to Seattle. I’ve done it 4 times and also some beautiful scenery especially the second day when you get to glacier national park and the cascades
If you like Banana Pudding, you should try the banana pudding from the Little Cupcake Bakeshop on prince street. I think theirs is better than Magnolia. Thanks for another great video!
Ooh definitely need to try
Elvis Presley's favorite desert was the banana pudding his mom made...
What are the name of the routes you are taking???
He rode the Lakeshore Limited to Chicago from New York City, and then rode the California Zephyr to Emeryville (San Francisco/Oakland) from Chicago...
Can you make a video where you live solely on "trains" on AmTrak where you crisscross the US for a total of 30 days? You can not fly or drive or even use any buses even if AmTrak would put you on a train? You would have to find a way to go to all of the different cities on only train routes, would you be up for the challenge?
Are dogs 🐶 allowed??
No
Nice video -- but...um...you sound like an American; how did you NOT KNOW you could cross our country by train!? I have, but frugally, with just a coach seat, MUCH cheaper, but spent most of my time in the observation car or the bar/snack car booths, with sandwiches, etc. ...don't forget to tell folks that trains leave from DOWNTOWN areas (no transport to remote airports)...no long lines, luggage search or xrays, metal dedectors, baggage weight limits, shoe removal, etc. -- just get to the station, train pulls in, get on, stash your luggage in the luggage compartment, find your seat, have a drink! And by the way, trains VERY seldom are delayed/canceled due to weather, as planes often are!
Amtrak employees get mixed reviews. I have experienced exceptional employees and rude uncaring employees.
It is the same with every government operated service, whether the Drivers License office or the Post Office...
In mexico. They have one called El Chepe Express
