Love every video you've made that I have seen your knowledge and willingness to share you're knowledge is top shelf. I occasionally watch Gate keeper videos and D-Rail videos your videos are better made because of your commitment to invest in equipment that free's up your hands. And I can only watch so many videos of crazies living on the edge. Merry Christmas Luke with wishes for a truly safe enjoyable holiday 😁

I know zero about radios but your videos are very interesting to watch. I've watched for a long time, and thank God you don't use apple. I remember those old caller id boxes. My dad was into cb radios when I was a kid 70's 80s. He had a couple base stations and radios in the car. I can remember he had some guy he knew climb this huge pine tree in the back yard and put an antenna in it. Later I remember he also knew a guy that I guess upped the power of one of those radios to where the neighbors would come by and complain my dad was talking through their TV's and stereos.

Hey man! Made it thru the whole video despite several interruptions. Yeah , your videos are pretty long, but where else ya gonna find that kinda value! Ha!
Anyways yeah, I gotta laugh from a good portion of your video as I could relate to many similar experiences with my own small service oriented business. Being a one man show, I have never advertised and almost all of my business originated from word of mouth. Servicing friends family and acquaintances. I relate to the tendency to have your own personal space being overrun with other people's stuff waiting in the repair queue , taking up room. Been there and done that with disappointed customers frustrated with having to wait their turn. I also had a difficult time saying no or turning work away. I had a year backlog. On occasions when missing deadlines I would offer discounts but that really was actually counter productive and made a bigger mess. Of course trying to run a service that is in high demand from a home workshop has many pitfalls. Although this was simply a hobby avocation for me , I ended up moving it to a small commercial suite. This was a great move but it has some pitfalls too. As I said I never advertised but none the less my business has ended up on Google maps and this has generated a ton more of cold calls expecting someone to answer the phone or for the place to have regular daily hours. I have had some stellar reviews but have received a couple of pissy bitches that have sent me nastygrams because I didn't answer the phone at their convenience. I have learned to cherry pick who I work with and what I work on. I mostly deal with professionals and higher end boutique gear.
While the smartphone has been a tremendous tool in so many different ways. It can boost productivity but it can be an extreme killer of productivity too!
People who are " in the know" or have been referred to me by people in the know, will know the secret way to get a hold of me. I never answer the phone while working and never pick up a call from anyone I don't know or recognize. Those who are prospective clients will need to text message me. I can then return their inquiry at my leisure. I now have a couple of local businesses that are aware of this and are sending customers with such instructions. So the secret is out. But how it works out for me, is once communication has been established and it appears that we have a repoire I will enter their name and their potential project into a special contact database on my Android phone. So they can now phone and I will recognize whom is calling. While I have a commercial business suite, I do not keep hours open for business. Everything is done by appointment. Further after some troll had been stirring up things on the Google maps listing critical of how I am doing business and should be doing business or how they demand that I do business,,,, I simply had to publish the fact that this is not a public business and is not open to the public. That I do these things part time as a hobby and that if it wasn't for my unrelated full-time employment and working on the road, I could not fund this hobby avocation and be of service to others.
It is through my own personal finances that has secured the vendors that allow for me to stock the inventory used to service and supply my clients. Basically I finance their projects with no money upfront and cash on delivery when complete.
I am at the point where I once again enjoy what I do . If I don't enjoy what I am doing why would I want to do it. I certainly don't want to deal with unappreciative people. A big reward is helping others!
Believe me, nobody gives the level of personal service within the field that I do and at a ridiculous low price point.
Well,,,, the price is going to change here very soon!
As I realize the true value of what I offer and the great demand!
