My airplane has 100hp, this engine is almost half the power, and the weight is virtually zero in comparison. This is like strapping a rocket on the back of a mosquito.
To give some perspective, the Taylor E-2 Cub, the predecessor to the Piper J-3 Cub, had a Continental A-40 engine making only 37 HP, comparable to a Polini Thor 303. It had an empty weight of about 510 pounds, a max takeoff weight of 970 pounds, and could carry two people. The engine alone had a dry weight of 144 pounds. The Ares 260 has 5 more HP and is light enough to be used as a paramotor engine.
That setup banks so hard it’s insane, when he put it on the trike as soon as he was off the ground and immediately turned, it was such a tight turn. I was thinking that his stomach must have felt like it was at his ankles lol. That was awesome. That is a beautiful engine.
Tucker, when you landed and were talking about this engine's performance your eyes were just lit up and you couldn't stop smiling......that thing is perfect for your style of flying just ripping up the sky. Awesome review Brother!!!
That motor is awesome. It really cool to see what all is out there to include the 4 stroke engine. I just got my "FLY HIGH, REALLY HIGH" shirt, and it looks great. Thanks. Keep up the content.
That climb rate ... Just watching and my mind is worried I'm holding extra brake and about to cause a stall. Glad the Florida weather cooperated with you over the holiday. Georgia weather not so much lol. Well that and a killswitch issue. Thought I fouled up a plug getting the moster out of running lean. Had it nice and happy running in the yard, and somehow between there and the field the killswitch now acts like its always pressed. Plug makes no spark until I disconnect the killswitch. Thanks to Neil at Aviator for suggesting it.
Looks amazing and real versatile for single, doubles, and trike. Been a huge fan following for a long time. It's really cool to see the advancements in the sport.
cool. Back in the day, I started out on the Sky110; I first saw their twin at Palm Bay meet some years ago. The pilot was on a rocket compared to everyone else.
Badass color scheme on that BGD prototype! Looking forward to see where it’s going to fall in their lineup. A new Epic or Blizzard perhaps? A more slalomy competitor to the Carve or Freeride would be cooler though.
That was the same look you had on your face after the FreeRide 14 video. A how is that even possible, mind blown kinda look. Definitely get one and would love to see more of it. Looks like a game changer!
It will be a great engine for the ultralight fixed and flexwing craft. Great replacement for the old Rotax 447 applications. Sounded awesome. Thanks for showing some of the latest equipment for paramotoring. New things keep coming out all the time.
The huge grin says it all. That thing is ridiculous. Yeah, it's heavy, but it's not like you need to take more than a step or two before being rocketed straight up. Even on the trike it's incredible. Once the wing is up and stable, the roll distance didn't look much longer than the trike was long.
I think that engine is going to make the glider tear in half after a while with all the drag on turns and stuff. Can get one, fly it a little, and keep it in your paramotor museum.
Good luck. I've had many issues with mine. Latest was a bad piston, spun a ring, not covered under warranty unless i pay for shipping to Italy for them to evaluate. (They might still deny warranty parts and service after I ship from California.) Only 50 hours on the engine. Engine seized 8 months into the 1 year warranty period.
I would love to have such motor. I am a little on a heavy side and all those little nice light beauties are just not for me. Though this one could be a bit heavy - but only while on the ground!
If you were able to get the Ares, how could you give it away? It is almost something you would put on your wall next to that huge elk antlers trophy or next to the 'one of' signed Super Snake in the garage.
I've been interested in paramotor for a while but I'm 6'4" and with gear on 220+ lbs. I've worried about motors just not having enough power for me to really enjoy the experience. This really takes that worry away.
Wow, the Ares 260 is an incredible piece of equipment-seriously impressive! 🔥 I’ve just got my hands on the Macfly EFI and can’t wait to take it for a spin once I’m back from working abroad. How did you find the Aries in flight? Would love to hear your thoughts on it!
Training is highly recommended. Your instructor can give you all the information you need to fly safely and purchase proper equipment. Learn to fly on school gear before you purchase anything!
ive always wanted a motor lol. ever since i watched ur McDonalds vid 7 years ago ive always wanted to start flying. ive dreamt of flying a paramotor through a scenic area eating some food while looking at a amazing view. sucks im only 13 lol,
Is anyone mapping this engine for EFI? My preference is to develop a boxer 4 stroke, EFI, water cooled, use of materials and design to reduce weight. The Swiss is nearly there, a bit under powered and overweight, but incremental advances.
From now until January 10th, 2025, every $5 spent on www.tuckergott.com gets you one entry to win this sweet EOS Quattro four stroke paramotor!
I'm in! Just bought some merchandise! That Ares 260 is another level.
In a recently released document a Hamas leader said that they learned from your videos.
@@SteveoDeMayo I don’t believe this.
Have you considered doing a paragliding only video?

OneUp is amazing! They taught my 62 y/o mom how to fly, and she couldn't have been in better hands.

What a climb at 4:45, wow!!
Looks amazing and real versatile for single, doubles, and trike.

That thing sounds like a beast !!
It was good to see Kyle & crew from One Up Adventure!
Holy shit! That thing flies like something you'd see in a Mad Max movie.
Wow, a 2 cylinder paramotor, it seems ideal for those planning a tandem trike setup or a performance 3D solo slalom power unit.
Badass color scheme on that BGD prototype! Looking forward to see where it’s going to fall in their lineup. A new Epic or Blizzard perhaps? A more slalomy competitor to the Carve or Freeride would be cooler though.
I’d like to see you get one of those for yourself Tucker. It would be fun to see what kind of shenanigans you could get into with that motor!!
I'm guessing n altitude test will most definitely require oxygen.
I flew Adams for a few days at Bad Apples. Massive power, massive torque, always breaking haha
That was the same look you had on your face after the FreeRide 14 video.
A how is that even possible, mind blown kinda look. Definitely get one and would love to see more of it. Looks like a game changer!
We used to fly in Arizona all the time south Phoenix. What a great area.. to have that motor would be just awesome
one up, fantastic crew!

Thanks for showing some of the latest equipment for paramotoring. New things keep coming out all the time.
See you soon! We need more shenanigans. 😘
Wowee have a great New Year Tucker
I couldn't believe how fast you got in the air. 👌
That was mostly the strong headwind.

Hell yeah, do a giveaway with one of those!
This thing is absolutely incredible. What a gnarly trike-mobile it would make.
I commented on the sound of the EOS being nice, but wow.. that Ares seems like a fighter jet!
Hell yeah do a giveaway with one of those.
That nearly had the power of my VW Beetle! Insane!!!
Boxer engines are by far superior to a single piston design.
I think that engine is going to make the glider tear in half after a while with all the drag on turns and stuff. Can get one, fly it a little, and keep it in your paramotor museum.
What wing was you flying tucker? Looked like fun
That's insane!!! I want one!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Time to start racing these on courses
What wing were you flying on this video?
Its a new glider from BGD, not out yet.
love your vids man!
Boxer engines are inherently smooth - they're perfectly counterbalanced like an inline 6, so I'm sure it's a great ride. Nice.
Lots of low rev torque too…. 👍
I've Got The Power 💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻
Very cool Motor! Awesome video!
Nice test 🎉❤
Get one!
A twin LC two stroke oh this is going to move!
I just ordered a sky 150 engine 2 weeks ago. I hope it is a good engine. Did you ever tried/test any of them ?
I would also like to know more about the 150. Mainly fuel consumption and powerband.
Never have! They do look nice though.
Good luck. I've had many issues with mine. Latest was a bad piston, spun a ring, not covered under warranty unless i pay for shipping to Italy for them to evaluate. I spent 230 hours now on my 150 , didn’t loose a kg from the power on the bench .
@@dimitriskolliakos5452 You're a lucky one for sure! Congrats!

how much thrust is this around?
Out should be around mid 240lbs 110s kg by the numbers but without power curve info and prop pitch its a close guess.
@@rowdyrowboat 👍🙏🙏🙏
He’ll yeah get one for a give away!

What wing is that? New bgd prototype?
The some of the best hardware and one of the best pilots…amazing combo…
When does the BGD icon come out?
This old 72 year old man
Enjoy the hell out of your videos
Wish I was younger I would definitely give it a go
Are you kidding? This would be the best time for you to do this!!
Give it a go anywho, you got this!!!🏋️🛩️
Most people couldn't stand up with that beast strapped on their back.
SICKNESS!!!!!!!
That thing sounds like a fighter plane!
What BGD wing is that?
Hell yeah! 🤠
:46 so cool
I will take one!
Great Vid 👍
Why was there so much oil on the muffler?
Cheers
🙌 WOW 😮

I'm saving my hardest for a glider and lesson's now I want one right now
is there any requirements or do you need a license to fly one of these?
Training is highly recommended. Your instructor can give you all the information you need to fly safely and purchase proper equipment. Learn to fly on school gear before you purchase anything!
Excellent! 🤘
seriously cool...!!!
what wing was that?
That thing is bad ass!
This should be my first motor. I’m a bigger guy at 250 lbs. how much would this setup go for with a relaxed cruiser wing?
It was time 😎
Try the Zeus 300 next?
Or is the 260 the same motor?
My impression is that this engine could deliver greater performance with a more efficient propeller.
At a certain point is there too much power that you overload the weight rating of the glider? Do gliders have G ratings also?
why does the exhaust look like a 2-stroke expanding chamber design?
I just need the motor
I want to see a Stark Varg motor on a paramotor! 80HP!
Double powerloop?
Wow!!!
Did someone say insane!!
out of curiosity, is there such a thing as too much power, which can collapse the wing?
One thing I've always wanted to know is: is it possible to power-stall a paraglider? Seems if this engine can't do it nothing will.
I wouldn't even touch this thing without dynamic torque compensation....
Justice for Pnut the squirrel and Fred the raccoon
Soo cool
Oh WOW!!! 🤪...yeah just watched, so thats all i got at the moment.
Freaking Nice!
damn I want this so bad
ive always wanted a motor lol. ever since i watched ur McDonalds vid 7 years ago ive always wanted to start flying. ive dreamt of flying a paramotor through a scenic area eating some food while looking at a amazing view. sucks im only 13 lol,
👍
I wonder how a rotary would work with a paramotor.
Parajet made a turbo rotary to do the Everest flight.
Yeah sooo Im thinking a give away would be the right thing to do,, IMHO! and whats the price on this engine alone? EOS 280 is like 5G,USD
Yamaha banshee of the sky
Wow
How can that be a twin cylinder? I see one cylinder jug not two where's the other one hiding?
Beneath it. Horizontally opposed.
@@TuckerGott Vertically opposed, in this case.
Thumbs up for a giveaway of this motor
YES!!!! Finally somebody pronounces the exhaust correctly!!!!
It sounds like a UFO compared to all the other paramotors. :'D
