Jamessr23 3rd rule is always scale it in the same place it’s almost impossible to get the scales level . I mark it on the floor of the shop. I’m not much of a door guy but in my experience scaling a car at the track is a bad idea
Like the idea. It's great to have a better understanding of a car and to make it go fast. But as grand dad use to say. "If you can't and wouldn't drive it on the street. Then what does it matter how fast it can go. It's like a pissing contest at that point." Great content. Learned a lot so far.
All of drag racing, since the beginning, is a pissing contest. "Can I get to the next light faster than the next guy?" Pissing contest. No practical value other than the fun.
No mention of the importance of leveling the scales, settling the chassis, rolling the car on the scales vs using a jack and DROPPING each wheel on the scales, consistent tire pressures.....I guess some things still need to be learned the old fashioned way?
All the guys that need more info than that shouldn't be working on their own car. On second thought y'all keep watching videos, watch this one 3-4 times and you might find your answers.
BadSeed Black1911 do you even know what your talking about.. I love Tim’s cars and his vids but that one sucked pretty bad. It’s like Tim was thinking I get paid a lot to consult when people are lost so don’t give it away
Very vague 🤣🤣🤣 don’t want to give the car set up away? I mean that’s enough info to get some one over their head thinking they know what they are doing🤣
Tims so knowledgeable when it comes to this stuff id love to work for him theres so much to learn
Tim hope it's ok to mention Tire pressure. When I had mine on the scales I had the right rear tire 1 psi more so the left front was 100 pounds heavier
Is there a part 2 ?
Thank you Tim. I appreciate this video series. Am always trying to find ways to apply the info in these videos to my 85 Mustang bracket bomber.
First rule...buy good set of scales..2nd rule...always use same scales...3rd rule...level the scales before using

How off can the weights be if scales are not perfectly leveled?

What do you prefer to put in the 4 link, Rear steer or pre load?
Chris Went he says in another video that he uses a little of both for high horsepower cars
Beautiful car
How important or detrimental is it to have the scales completely leveled? Are we talking a few pounds off or 50 to 100 lbs off? Thx
thanks for the video ...
If I ever hit the lottery Tim will be hearing from me 😁 I want a car just like that.
How big is that driver again? I missed it.

The 300lb driver needs a reality tuneup, eat less & move around more Dude!
This is a drag car not a race car
All that info and NOTHING on how to actually make the adjustments to balance that out.
