I love watching Tim just tell it like it is, no bs.
I wish some other drag racers would listen to him. If you watch powerdrivendiesel, cletus McFarland, and the gtr racers on 1320 video you can see the weight issues, suspension issues, and all the stuff Tim is throwing out there, getting in their way. Yeah they are running 6.70s gtr, 7.87 Cleetus with a 6 speed h pattern manual, and 9.5s in a truck, but I would bet a week with Tim would have them drop .5 seconds or more based on their chassis issues. All 3 have the power, trans, and driver mods, but man dial those chassis!

I've never been so fortunate as to have a car that was too light. At 250lbs, I just need to get weight off the driver, first.

So my question is. If you rotate the weight bar around the chassis mount in an inside/outside. Top or bottom. How much would that tweak the dynamics of how the weight is applied? I ask cuz im the jackass who uses ankle weights and duct tape and sandbags to add weight

It could definitely have an effect on a light car with a very slim tuning window. It also depends on the amount of weight in proportion to the overall set up. In most cases, it would probably be nothing to worry much about other than the safety factor of it coming off and hitting someone.

Lead shot is difficult to find. It's only legal for skeet, in most states.

Has anyone done wheelie control with electronics like they do in motorcycle road racing?

Using a controller like an Arduino, with A 3axis gyro, you could tell the ignition to cut power to keep the chassis angle at whatever you desire. Very generic non drag racer answer but theres gotta be enough shit out there someone is doing this

You said exactly what I was going to comment I'd drive my car heavier then lighter it steers better and if you get dinged on the track you don't move that much

Reminds me of a chat I had with an ice racer. The rules were stock suspension, so they poured cement in the door panels to lower the car. It pushed other cars out of the way and had excellent traction as it was about 8000 lbs

If I was only allowed to change one thing on a chassis for tuning...it would be weight placement.

Isn't moving weight around on a chassis kind of a common sense thing?
Especially the part when you say I would rather have a to heavy of a car that works over a lite care that doesn't. Who cares about a lite car that loses every round because you can't control what its doing?
    Common sense first!!
