As someone who has played competitive sports my whole life. If you throw hands at anyone, you best be ready for their teammates. Every team has that you mess with one of us, you mess with all of us. Not saying it was right to respond that way. However, don't be upset when someone retaliates to your aggressive actions.

I’ve played basketball my whole life and Dawn Staley and Kim Mulkey have been my 2 idols. USC has always been my number 1 team, but I’ve followed Mulkey from Baylor. I love them both, but Mulkey’s response was beyond disappointing to me. It validated my happiness in the outcome of the game.

Nah, she had just had enough..earlier in the game she had her hair pulled so hard it whipped her head back (no IF called), she was also deliberately elbowed in the face (i believe that one was called), and then had her lip busted..by the time this happened she was fed up and she wasnt gonna stand by and take anymore bs whether it was towards her or a teammate, this is not her typical character at all but u can't just keep trying to push people and then whine about it when they finally push back

What started it was the South Carolina player wearing the number 2 running up on Johnson getting in her face. Flauge' reacted pushing her to the side. Cardoza outsized flauge' by over a foot in height and out weighed her by over 100 lbs and runs up to the little girl and steam rolls her. GTFOH! That s*** is about jealousy of those girls from LSU who beat the team SC couldn't beat last year. Also the girls from LSU(Johnson&Resse)have been marketing themselves and are doing pretty well for themselves and their families. My question to some of you people in your comments is how would you feel if some girl who outsize your daughter by over a hundred plus pounds and a foot in height steamrolls your daughter would you be saying the same s***?

I love both teams very much for the talent and how they've just grown into their style of play.
Everyone is saying that Flaujae shouldn't push anyone, but Ashlyn came and bumped her first because she foul Milaysia wish they didn't like. Ashlyn bumped her & said something to her. Hence, the push off, with Raven and Bree, who was crowding around her as well. After that, Ashlyn went back into her face again. Flaujae pushed her again from out of her personal space & Ashlyn laughed, looking at the referee like saying where's the technical. After the second push, Kamilla was not necessary there at all. Ashlyn can handle herself, and if you're going to attack someone like that, you need to be upfront as that could've easily been a career ending situation if Flaujae had landed badly.
Now I understand why Kim Mulkey said what she said. Fight with someone within your weight class. However, it was more likely said because all throughout the game both Angel & Kamilla were pushing & pulling in the paint there was a lot of things that went unaddressed in that game as the referees just let them play through it which made both teams frustrated.
I truly hated that this happened as I love both teams of players. They're some talented women & I just want to see them go to the next level. All of them need to learn from this & grow from it.
Also, the referees rule to leave Sania Fagan in the game, saying she didn't leave the bench when she left along with Tessa Johnson so while they could say Te Hina Pao-Pao was already their to check into the game so she could stay. However, Fagan should've been booted as no one was on that bench or in front of the bench. The replay shows it clearly, but they kept the call. The referees caused this built up with their calls not always being consistent or unbiased. Along with emotions running really high for both teams for different reasons. None of what happened is right, but it could've been avoided had Kamilla stayed out of it. Bumps and pushes happen in such a physical game. How it is done is what calls for the refs to step in & allow emotions to level back out.
The truth finally spoken, the referees played a major part in letting this escalate.
