What? How? This is awesome. The algorithm just presented this to me. I love this, this is amazing. OMG, I'm going to have to make a sandwich, and some tea. It's so cool that you managed to get an interview with him.
What an amazing man. Thank you. You have basically driven my life. I was a young teen when your work was setting the soundtrack of my life. Often times, your work made its way up and down the charts and Kacey Kasum was the human voice telling us the stories behind the music. Considering the turns the world has taken, I will always wish I could go back. When I say the good old days, that was exactly what is was.
Hugh deserves a lot of credit. "Zenyatta Mondatta" sounded like it was recorded in a closet. When Hugh came on board, he made "Ghost In The Machine" sound way bigger and better. It was much more punchy and vibrant. The difference in sound between those two albums is unbelievable. Thanks for the great interview.
@@DocIdaho That's why I said "HAUNTINGLY" beautiful song. Music is beautiful, lyrics are...HAUNTING!". LOL But They're still not as bad as Blackest Eyes by Porcupine Tree. Great music...SCARY lyrics!
Not the first song from the Police about a possessive person whose relationship with the object of their possessiveness is over, after they had a big hit with Can't Stand Losing You four years earlier.
This was the #1 song for the year 1983! It made me dive into the police catalog and they are absolutely amazing! Check out I can't stand losing,Roxanne or Message in a bottle. 👍

Hugh Padgham also co-produced Frida's first post-ABBA album 'Something's Going On,' with Phil Collins. Jay and Amber have already reacted to the first single from that album, 'I Know There's Something's Going On.'
Hugh is amazing, loved listening to his stories & he seems like a really nice guy. Very fortunate to be able to listen to him and get his insights. Of course it's one of the biggest songs ever. I was listening to the Police in high school in the early 80s, they really were the biggest band in the world. Great interview Rob Squad!!
The friction between Stuart and Sting makes much more sense in retrospect after hearing him talk about it. Yes,he appeared to be trying to beat that snare drum to death in anger.
Mr. Padgham's facial expressions say it all. At moments, he looked emotional with pride, as well he should. Such a classic, brilliant, iconic tune. Love all of your vids, but these RSR chats with the creators themselves are especially awesome! Keep up the great work, y'all! ✌️💙🤘
I saw an old 1985 documentary thing with Sting and his new band “Dream of the Blue Turtles” and Miles Copeland didn’t mess around. I12:22 I loved it Amber wasn’t concerned about genres ❤ man just music ! 💯
So many people sang along with this back in the day, not realizign just how creepy this song sounds. The video gives it that extra level of creepy vibe, since the "Sting Stare" give a real "Stalker" vibe. Still an amazing hit
Frank Zappa was all-digital in the 1980s, but nobody else really. He bought a Synclaver DMS (jazz from hell, G-Spot tornado, etc.) sequencer when it cost as much as a supercar!
When it comes to the legacy of the police, we’re about to arrive at a new chapter with Snoop and Dr Dre having just done a cover of Message in a Bottle guest starring Sting! Can’t wait to hear it!
Fantastic. It's good to see Hugh taking care of himself. Is he still routing signals through a console or has he moved to the porch to enjoy his Long Island Ice Tea?
There is a song I haven’t seen anyone react to and it is such an amazing song. Written in 1971 by Tom Clay…..it is a mix of the song “what the world needs now” More than ever this song is so relevant for today….unfortunately there are not a lot videos with good quality but this one will certainly hit you in the heart ua-cam.com/video/aeE2zALCdcc/v-deo.htmlfeature=shared
So Stewart's situation kind of parallels that of Brian Jones with the Stones. Not easy to have someone become more popular and take over something that you started.
Did I hear mention of a Righteous Brothers song? 'Long John Baldry + Kathi McDonald - You've Lost That Loving Feeling' look for the 5:27 min UA-cam. Also for a female Friday try 'Kathi McDonald - I'd Rather Go Blind'. She should have been way bigger. She sang with Baldry for 30+ years, she replaced Janis Joplin in Big Brother & The Holding Co, after Janis died for a bit as well. Cheers.
Sorry to be so uptight, but the Hall and Oates version of “you’ve lost that loving feeling” is no where near as good as the one Hugh is referring to by The Walker Brothers. You need to react to Scott Walker. “If you go away” (originally a French song) will make you cry, Dusty Springfield also covers it very, very well. For something upbeat, go with “Jackie”. Hilarious. Scott is a hell of an artist, impossible to pudge on hole. X
So funny that you pointed out how Rob showed the wrong version of "Loving Feeling" only to name another incorrect version! The correct version is by The Righteous Brothers .. come on!! ua-cam.com/video/xbg1gkWb0Wo/v-deo.html
@ terrible error on my part. Got my brothers mixed up. In my defence, I associate both songs strongly with my late brother. He used to play them repeatedly, so I used to mix them up as a very young boy (6+). But, I know better and should be more careful.

It is time for you guys to go back to ABBA. A reaction to " I Still Have Faith in You" would be epic. It is there return to music after 40 years anthem. It is unique and stunning. The video is absolutely amazing. Crafted together with historic photo's and video. Amazing. It is also the only ABBA song that was nominated for a grammy. That is a sad commentary on the Grammies. Also no one has reacted to this song on You tube for over a year. Be a trend setter.
What? How? This is awesome. The algorithm just presented this to me. I love this, this is amazing. OMG, I'm going to have to make a sandwich, and some tea. It's so cool that you managed to get an interview with him.
Thanks for going the extra mile to show the artists responsible for the great music everyone is reacting to.

Title has a mis-spelling.
"Breath" to "great" is quite a typo.
I don’t know, to me this Song is about a Stalker.
I can not believe that the two people I think are the best reactionists are positively reacting to a song about stalking a girl. So dissapointed.
Your guest needs to be wearing headphones or ear plugs. Or turn his audio down.
Your title's wrong. It's 'Breath' not 'great'. lol
Creepy song honestly
Breath not great
You guys rarely mispell or get your titles incorrect but it's Every Breath You Take. Not a huge deal.
They're become a bit more careful, but they still screw up the thumbnail text pretty frequently.
